  1. I'd fall to my knees and sob like a girl. Maybe by some chocolate in an attempt to cheer myself up, failing that turn to heroin. I must confess I was a little hasty in declaring this album average. It's definately grown on me and though a few of the tracks still bore me, most are of a high quality. A solid 8/10 I reckon.
  2. It's ambient psy, isn't it?
  3. Too lazy to read the entire thread but Juno Reactor's Luciana is surely the longest psy track?
  4. I feel the album has a nice sound to it but has no real purpose and no direction. I liken it to a pretty horse gone mad, running around aimlessly, sometimes looking elegant, but ultimately needing to be put down. It's interesting that Deathposture says "Forget about boring, lengthy and pretentious intros… Ka-Sol is grinding teeth right from the first second…" as it highlights how different aspects of a song are interpreted in different ways. My personal opinion on the lack of intros is that it stinks of lazyness. I love slow-building and lengthy intros, they're easily one of my favourite parts to a track, they set the atmosphere and lead you, by the hand, down the garden path and through the hole in the wall. To conclude, whilst I initially thought Fairytale deserving of a 7/10, repeated play has revealed it only worthy of a 6/10. Average at best.
  5. It's an interesting question you raise. I personally proclaimed him a genius back in '95 upon first hearing Twisted and defy anyone to hear that album whilst tripping and not reach the same conclusion. It's made from the very mana of psychedelia.
  6. Got my speakers back, and am listening to Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On... nah, not really. Prometheus - Nerve Centre
  7. Found a working link on the Twisted website to the track antic mentioned: http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?acti...F3EDCBB650B18AE The track's not the one I was thinking of, it's brand new and a thing of raw beauty.
  8. Interesting choice there, Shaft. I think A Flock of Bleeps is superb and probably one of my favourite modern psy albums. If Crystal Skulls is the Tipworld release then that's also a fantastic collection of tunes. Mystery of the Yeti is very good but the sequel's even better, and Mystical Experiences remains one of the finest examples of ambient trance ever written. A word of warning about Soundscapes and Modern Tales and Random Thoughts; neither, in my opinion, are as good as In Search Of A Meaningful Moment. I was particularly disappointed with Random Thoughts as it's the least musical of all Shulman's album. It's not a bad album as such, but it came as a bit of a surprise considering how breathtaking In Search Of A Meaningful Moment was. Probably still worth getting though, especially for an ambient trance fan like yourself.
  9. I think it's tight but am inclined to agree. Both albums are beautiful and both create their own vibe and conjure up different emotions but ultimately Blumenkraft's spirit is that bit stronger - probably due to the fact that it's Ott's own project.
  10. Can't get the link to work but I'm guessing it's the same masterpiece Benji posted on Isratrance a few months back. That he's decided to make 2 seperate albums, one downtempo and one trance, is the best psy news I've heard all year.
  11. You're way too young to like progressive, it's an old man's form of electronic music.
  12. Someone told me you have a seat to watch the Eurovision live tonight. How much did you pay for that?
  13. Do they hire you out for some of the sounds?
  14. Please interview Ka-Sol and ask him what 'forest sounds' are. I'd be forever in your debt.
  15. I knew mentioning on psynews I listen to alternative country would come back to haunt me.
  16. Are you mad?
  17. Maybe he'll try die me.
  18. Come on, man, you're taking it the wrong way, believe me. 'Silly' is hardly the worst thing to be called but I apologise if it upset you.
  19. That's a nice attitude you have there, Oopie. Unfortunately I sometimes find it difficult to supress the moaner in me... and you're right, there's plenty of oldshool goa out there waiting for us to discover.
  20. Tsk... so much for my trying to offer an olive branch.
  21. Loved or loathed, these Posford threads sure get people talking.
  22. I don't see why not.
