  1. its funny that it came after his post but the albums I am eagerly waiting are Elysium s downtempo and progressive cd s, both of them I hope Talpa experiments and comes up with something that can cause heated debates and some tribal, experimental, downtempo, trancey, acid friendly album
  2. well rather then a song I d like to remind for those who experienced it those looong tracks that can go up to an hour or more not mixes but I am talking about a single track I remember one time it was at a party at a desert 3 guys started of with a single kick and build over it for hours twisted, turned crazy for over an hour those are really trancing for me but it has been long since I have seen those kind a live acts People who are not after albums but actually produce live psychedelic goa in free parties, if there ara still some please point me at the direction if we are talking about single tracks most early x-dream tracks along elysium tracks for me
  3. I think you cannot compare it to rockn roll in general psychedelic rock or acid rock can be compared, or else you have to say lifespan of electronic dance music and psy/acid rock, it sure did have a shorter lifespan than goatrance 66-69 i would say rest is wannabe psyrock my father was into that, he lived in uk in swinging sixties and sventies and i was a serious psy rock listener whatever that means (maybe i say this because i have more than 700 titles at home) goa/acid/psy trance is going much better i think now people just put on and listen or collect (it is one of the most serious genre in music collection) but what elder friends or my father says, it was actually a dance/party thing just like goa then it went on the same route that we are on now generic, commercial, image only with few exceptions of old school wanabees of psyrock even grateful dead was not doing psy after 69
  4. i ve seen the devilfish version of the tb 303 check that out takes the tb further into space
  5. Solar Quest - Acid Air Raid but you mean the whole record, which track you re talking about or is there something else than the ep I have having that as a track name and yeah we know chris liberator, i actually had a chance to listen to him live too but I tried to say, I am not asking acid trance here I am talking about psychedelic goa trance so come on (though some very close tracks were around) and howling at the moon is one of my fave too and you say it was not 303 then whatever is that i am going for that emulator and yeah the famous sh101 tweaked basslines also gave me lots of thrills and chills, come on people spill out the gems, there must be some stuff we ve been missing
  6. morphine - rope on fire no psy tonight i am surfing my archives and morphine is still sounding as good as I first heard it
  7. @tatsu its not about the beat being beautifully programmed or playes as you say it can be boring or dull hell it may only be a kick and another sound (whatever) still it can put you into trance that repition and beat doesnt mean a kick and a hihat along usual percussion it can be some other sounds that repeat itself in a certain rythm a frog, along crickets and wind are sometimes crazy trance inducing
  8. If you trust my word no need to study I have a few years back for the base of my thesis There are a lot of cultural anthropologists that has studied along doctors you can find many studies reating to Australian Aborigine trance rites And they match my above quote which I found more easy to understand connected with goa by the way if you wanna check out the anthropolists check Durkheim, Emile, The Elementary Forms of Religious Life, Translated by Karen E. Fields. The Free Press, 1995
  9. For good fun check it, piece of history as well Grandmaster Flash & Melle Mel - White Lines (Dont Do it)
  10. There is also a bilogical part of trance Trance states also has something to do with bpm here is the quote that I ve also used in my ma “ The issue of tempo is an interesting one considering the possible relationship between the musical tempo and human brain physiology. The frequency alpha waves in the brain, critical in inducing trance states in humans, lies approximately between 8 and 12 cycles per second, and varies from one person to another. Many traditional trance-inducing music of the world contain rhythmic elements which mirror these rates. Typically performances start at the lower level and increase over a period of hours towards a higher level. The gradual increase in frequency allows for the variation in different human alpha wave frequencies. In Goa Trance there is a constant stream of 16th notes which when played at a suggested average of 144 bpm yields a flow of musical events at an average of 9.6 cps. This situation parallels of traditional trance music” Goa Trance: A Psykotropic Trip Through Tribedelic Transcapes by Fred Cole
  11. After all these years whenever I think I am through with it I hear it again and I go bananas it was one of the first sounds that had infiltrated my head what are your favourite 303 moments/tracks like Green Nuns of the Revolution - Ring of fire Talking Souls - Karma 209 not like Spect-R - Acido Flamenco its not that I do not like all 303 lines, I fell for it everytime , but I am talking about the ones that you feel the 303 is screamiiiiiiiiiing in your head, and the resonance and cutoff will twist further on that it will turn your inside out and ... whatever ok so tell me your fave tracks/moments fellow 303heads
  12. true Pysko Disko was great but is it underrated?? they were quite known and well respected in the scene at early goa parties you could hear a track from them surely they also have organized mostly fred I guess a lot of parties too maybe the scene was small to make them known for a lot of people but that few people loved them as far as I know hmm maybe underrated now you mean I still play and love my psyko disko vinyl
  13. well I couldnt also get a hold of COLORBOX - TRAIN TO CHROMA CITY never and I hope and believe it is rare
  14. full on was a term then and I liked to say it it didnt mean that bassline and that kick it meant it was a crazy song and you d loose your breath dancing to it we also used it for uber trippy songs so the word was used in its own meaning i guess green nuns - ring of fire was full on to me listen to that full blast in open air and tell me its not
  15. this "they can only play for us" thing sucks big time while we re making free outdoors around turkey someone actually made a deal with israely artists (can be with him too but i am sure it is phonokol are they connected) that they can only play at their parties and they told me this as if it is something important i laughed my ass off and told him we do not care i for myself in our parties do not want big names that is what f*cked the scene in my opinion dj plays anything they like, anywhere they like, anytime they like have these people never been to an actual PARTY or do they think the word party means something else i for my part know that this music will change too, and it should but the idea behind the party situation stays FREEEEEEE in EVERY SENSE OF THAT WORD to keep it that way we ll evolve and stay underground and probably leave making parties and back up younger kids or we go mainstream and commercial there is no other way I hope younger kids come up with new and creative ideas so crazy that it would be nearly impossible for me to listen to, but i ll be there backing them up so f*ck all these people who think they ve become something while that something has become them may sound offtopic but its not I guess
  16. http://www.discogs.com/kodomo by the way my dj name and the nick in other forums is kodomo hence the discogs account couldnt finish the goa/psy/ambient yet but more than halfway through not putting the rest of electronic and rock, jazz, classics though most of them are not there
  17. Just made a trade with him everything went smoothly, got my cd s looking forward for future trades with him :)
  18. turkish kids died because of their f*cked up father guy sees a dead chicken on the field and tells his children to take it home to eat, its obvious it died because of some sort of sickness of course its because of poverty at the same time this happens in variety of forms all around in poor countries poor people eat whatever they find they do not or can not think if it is safe or not, it could ve been another disease as well they contacted the chicken held it, most probably toyed around with it until they took it home, and they ve got infected, sorry for them
  19. -I- think its quite funny to dislike samples and listen to electronic music sample cd s or whatever even hardware synths can have samples on them and why do you care I had the samples shpongle used it didnt irittate me it inspired me to hear how he used them and from single hits to vocals, pads... much of stuff we hear are samples anyway do you people make every single drum sound out of your own recordings or completely out of analog synths its like fsol said we re not musicians we re collage artists and i dont care what artists they are or what art it is, it is the aesthetic experience that takes me beyond my natural states, f*ck the rest I like listening to music and floating and going beyond not thinking how it is done, who did it, why he did it THE MUSIC is there to experience at all
  20. Well about the variety of styles I think Soulclipse is a winner This is the most diverse line up I have ever seen and it is good Normally big parties is not my cup of tea I like small small parties in remote locations but that doesnt matter now- When my friends ask me how big is the line up or how varied the line up is, my I answer is "it is so big and varied even I am playing " The good part about it is most people I ve met along the road for years are coming down for this one, I do not care much about who is playing but I care about who comes to see these guys eh and there are some artists I ve missed and some artists I loved and could ve never listened like kris himself. Its different for everyone. I personally do not like full on but remember being crazy at a festie (full moon 2 years ago) when it was playing because the totality of the experience was incredible at that moment, not only music... I also enjoy djs more than artists cause they can play any artist they prefer but artists chooses mostly to play their own tracks, and there used to be and still are very good djs, after all the main reason I got into electronic music scene was because I did not have to watch and adore big names but just get into the music itself. Anyways I am heading offtopic. The lesson of the day: Soulclipse is the biggest and most diverse line up ever in a psy festie as long as I ve seen (diverse staying in the psyscene, or else there are festies even with rock, elektro and psy together)
