  1. OK, this is only albums, not tracks (as this is what i think youre asking for) and only from our scene, not other stuff, because i think those votes would go to waste anyways..: 1. Kino Oko - Lost Entertainment 2. Antix - TwinCoastDiscovery 3. Ticon - ZeroSixAfter 4. Midi Miliz - Non Standards 5. Lish - Free Fall
  2. Im a lot older than my little sister, and when she was younger (like at 6-10) i gave he a lot of techno and goa to listen to and she always really liked and danced to it in my room when i was djing. I even tought her how to dj a little. Then came puberty......no more techno, first of N"Sync and boy Bands, now ameican college guitar rock and hip-hop, and she only goes to posh vip clubs
  3. definite no. 1 Atmos then on the same level: Son Kite/Minilogue Union Jack (including terra ferma and art of trance)
  4. Try playing that Mistress of Evil comp DP just reviewd to him Nicolas will become killlarggghhhh!!! About kids dancing to musiuc, about 1 or two years thisa really cute littl blond girl with a shiny white dress was sitting with her parents on a big blanket in some distance to the dancfloor at a festival (her parents were not fuck-upds, they wer sober and very responsible). She was dancing the whole time like a little Goa Fairy And she always wanted to dance in the middle of the floor, but her parents wouldnt let her, or only take her along for very short excursions. She was sooooo cute!!!
  5. HMMMMMM, what else do i have to say to let you know i aint gonna listen to this cd. I'd rather have a dirty Sanchez performed on me by a 800 pound black man with a 30cm cock while eating old encrusted sperm out of the vagina of a 4-week old water corpse. Catch my drift?
  6. You are all gonna kill me now probably, but I got my final scratch now and I dont think Im gonna buy CDs anymore. FUCK CDS!! I always hated the fuckers. I held on to my vynil as long as I could, now I chose to go digital, and when I say digital, I mean digital, ergo high-quality mp3s or wav's. When I buy a CD i have to put it on my computer, name everything etc...its such a pain in the ass. They are useless pieces of plastic. And fuck artwork, if I want artwork Ill go to a museum. And places like the Kompakt mp3 stores already offer all the artwork to download as well, if thats yur thing. And if someone doesnt offer paid-for downloads, well fuck it, its (almost) 2006, get with the program, Ill just go to Soulseek or DC++ until that someone gets his act together and starts being a professional. I would still buy Vynil, however, thats different, and I can run those through my FS.
  7. , but anyways, 154, 160 bpm??? are we in rotterdam or what? Id rather anally impale myself with a rusty firehydrant while deepthroating a herpes-infected syphillic elephant cock that just finished buttfucking a diarrhetic rhino with hemorrhoids than listen to shit like this Oh god, how I love my constructive criticism...
  8. I beg to differ, this is definitely my fav. Beckers and D-Nox tune, I just love that little melody and the overall feel of this track! I think it has that little "something" their more bootyshaking tracks IMHO are missing.
  9. Artist: Kino Oko Title: Lost Entertainment” Format: CD album Style: Psy Trance/ Progressive Release date: December 12 2005 Worldwide Label: Horns and Hoofs Entertainment Distributed by: Tracklist: 1. Born without soul 2. Metallic Mista 3. Pasyonata 4. Hippie Bones 5. Colors of black 6. Pan Prophet 7. Atomic corner 8. Industry of broken parts 9. Well done 10. Dead birds in the sky 11. Man upon the rainbow I must have been a very good boy this year, because around Christmas time I received the biggest musical surprise of the Year, Kino Oko’s “Lost Entertainment”. The person behind this record with the unpronounceable and unspellable name I’m not even gonna try to type here (I should probably shut the fuck up, my last name’s Krawczyk) is a member of BigWigs and Tromesa, two bands known for polish vodka induced madness. I always really respected BigWigs and Tromesa on an intellectual level, they dared to be different and their music was interesting and funny and very tricky, but being the cheese- and fluffmaster that I am, I couldn’t sit at home and thoroughly enjoy their work, it was just too weird and off-key for me. I always considered them the Schönberg of the trance scene, I respected them for what they are doing and thought they were great artists, but to keep the analogy Id still rather sit through an evening of Mozart then 3 hours of atonal 12-tone music. Then I read in the promo section that Kino Oko created something different, incorporating melodies and a real old-skool trance feel, and I was interested. I thought to myself “If you combine Bigwigs with real old trance, the result must be pretty cool”. I listened to the samples and was even more intrigued, so when the record was released I got it right away. And boy was I right!! This record rocks!!! I don’t know why nobody else has created a sound like this before, because when I listen to this record, it just makes sense. It sounds very well thought out, it is very cheesy at times (“ Dead birds in the Skyyyyyyyyyy….”), but its good cheese, because the melodies and emotions fit the tracks perfectly, its not artificial and drug-induced euphoria, but real emotions that are contrasted beautifully with the typical polish weirdness. Its like the ying and the yang, darkness and light, in short it’s a trip from the introverted “Heart of Darkness” to an extroverted sunny morning beachfestival with a big smile on your face Also I find it very refreshing that Kino Oko on purpose stays away from the modern sterile clean compressed “power sound” that is obviously dominating the full-on scene, but that also is prevalent in all Prog-Psy releases. This record is “Low-Fi” and goddamn proud of it!! And with “Low-Fi” I don’t mean bad production, but different production. It might be hard to believe for some people, but bass lines don’t necessarily have to be “killlAAARRGHH” to rock the dancefloor. What I’m getting at is that this album has a definite old-school feel to it, it sounds very analogue and organic, compared to other psy-releases it lives and breathes like an animal. But at the same time it doesn’t sound old at all, you can clearly hear that this is 2005 material, even though it plays around with the 1995 sound dynamic. Talking about 1995, one artist comes to mind that must have clearly inspired Mr. Unpronouncable. That artist is Union Jack. First of all the track “Well Done” is a clear homage to their track “Cactus” just like Ticons “Analogue H”, but Kino Oko took it into a whole new direction, he made it more psychedelic instead of more powerful and groovy like Ticon did. But other than that I get a lot of the Union Jack feel in some of these songs, the way the bass lines work, the melodic runs etc…, the major difference is that Kino Oko doesn’t use the characteristic twirling Union Jack 303’s. The melodies also seem to be very inspired by German rave- and hardtrance, they are very emotional and hands in the air type stuff, but they work like a charm and most importantly, they fit the fabric and soundscapes perfectly. When I listen to this record I just wanna be a good old raverboy with Buffalo Shoes and orange pants again and throw my arms towards the sun I just noticed that when you do a wordcount on everything I have written above, you come to exactly 666 words. Spooky… What a perfect transition to my next point! This is still the same dude who is also behind Tromesa and Bigwigs, and all the talk about melodies shouldn’t distract from the fact that this is some really trippy and sometimes almost scary shit!!! Maybe someone who’s into dark trance thinks this is scary on a Kindergarten level, but I’m a pussy, so I get scared easily. There are some really cool effects and tweaks and blurps and just genuinely strange sounds all over this record that give a really unique and sometimes dark twisted edge to these tracks, like in Metallic Mista for example. The soundwork here is really outstanding, I can’t stress this point enough!!!!! Sometimes you listen to a track and just think “now where the fuck did that just come from”, for example those weird ghost puking voices or whatever the fuck they are from “Born without Soul”. Kino Oko doesn’t have to hide behind anyone in the “sonic trickery department”, not even behind Simon Posford, I would even go so far and say his effects and tricks are a lot cooler, because they are more unique and sound more alive and less digitally dead, as is often the case with Mr. P. About the single tracks, there are no bad ones on here, there’s a wide variety, some are more melodic than others, some are darker and stranger, but they all have something unique about them. My personal favourite is the very first track “Born without Soul”, it says all there is to say about Kino Oko. Im playing at a electro-techno party in January, and I cant wait to open my set with this “Bad Motherfucker” I’m sure even the electro heads will go insane!!! I can’t wait…hehe. Its hard to pick out other stand-outs, there’s something I like about every track, like the groove of “Hippie Bones”, the “happy trippyness” of Atomic Corner, or the delicious cheesyness of “Dead Birds in the Sky” etc…, I think I’ll let someone else analyse the single tracks, I already wrote way too much. Well, to sum it up, I made the following formula: A nice dose of Union Jack + the naiveté of German Hard/Ravetrance melodies + a large helping of Bigwigs polish vodka madness + some current Cologne techno a la Dominik Eulberg or the Boxer label + a bit of electro “low-fi” feeling + sonic trickery worthy of leading IDM bands = Kino Oko “Lost Entertainment” This might sound like a total walk on the edge, and it is, but Kino Oko pulls it off with amazing style and grace. This is a trance record that I would not be afraid to play to some techno-snobs I know, because it is unique, and it stays miles away from any formula that I’m aware of. And unlike other BigWigs/Tromesa stuff it’s a real pleasure to listen to even for a pussy like me! The only doubt I have is about who will buy this record. It’s a bit of everything so everyone should be able to enjoy it, but on the other hand I think it’s a very mature album that will be too much for the kiddos, and it might be too melodic for the freaks? I don’t know, I hope the other extreme will happen and the kiddos buy it for the melodies and the freaks for the weirdness I personally think it’s a strong contender for album of the year, but then I’m always soooooo excited right after I discover something I really like If the excitement will stay only time can tell, but I’m very positive that just like a good wine “Lost Entertainment” will only get better, and not turn into vinegar. Thanks Mr. Unpronouncable!!!
  10. I totally love the paid-download idea, the only thing missing is a comprehensive hub that has everythinmg electronic. Beatport is cool, but they accept only credit card, that sucks, if they had paypal or something like it Id be in heaven!!
  11. Oh yeah, how could I possibly forget NhJOHennyro , he RAWKS BIG TIME!!!
  12. Im so jumpy in my music taste, it goes from here to there and back...ill try to make a list. So, heres my top tracks (not albums) from 2005 as of December 26th around 11:00pm: Ticon-Poem for Granny and Rip it up Antix- Le Lascard Phony Orphants- I want to feel Jaia- Orchesztra 2.0 Minilogue Mix and Spam by Minilogue Manhattan - The Shock Argy - Love Dose X-Dream - Psychomachine (Midi Miliz Mix) Rocco Branco - Misc. Remix Britney Spears - Breathe on Me (James Holden Remix) but maybe its from last year? Oliver Koletzki - Mückenschwarm Johan Fotmeijer - How we gonna fail now? Tigerskin - Dust Freeform 5 - Electromagnetic (Tiefschwarz Mix) DJ Hell - Je Regrette Everything (Superpitcher Mix) Mark & John - Trap 2 thats what comes to mind right now, the list s already getting too long, ask me in an hour and it will look different, so much good music out there
  13. Dude, are you sure this isnt a hoax? This just sounds To incredible to be true. By that logic, they vcould just ask anyone singing a song on the street for money. How lame...
  14. Thats kinda obvious to me , if youre an accomplished musician like BPC, you must feel stupid standing on stage twisting 2 or 3 knobs pretending its a live set. DJing on the other hand is an honest deal, everyone knows youre just playing other peoples tunes, theres a lot more to it than merely being a "human jukebox", but still, what you see is what you get.
  15. You know what, I was reading through this thread from the beginning and I was thinking about the exact same song. And then I read your post!! That would be the emotional new Years. Youd have to time it so the melody comes on right at the new year point, that would be perfect!! So there you have it, I outed myself as the ultimate cheesemaster again...
  16. since when is sweden a part of germany??? did you unite with us as well, did i miss something? edit: and the sexiest song is "je taime" by brigitte bardot and serge gainsbourg
  17. Ï pretty much agree with evryone above, the fast tracks are just too fast, but the slow tracks are  , especailly the first 5 and the last. The standout is of course no.4, that goes without saying. What strikes me the most however, are the melodies. They are so epic without trying to be epic. Its like you are listening to those songs on the side, but then, right after, you are like "goddamn, that was so intense, what was that???!!!" The good tracks are the kind that get better the more you listen to them, at first unspectacular, but then the real beauty unfolds. I wish i could dance to them during a nice festival at daytime. So, 6 out of 9 aint bad, recomended!!!
  18. hehe, i , i agree about the 80's early 90's stuff..... but: Tastexperience feat. Natasha Pearl - Summersault is not guilty!!!!! THATS FULL-OUT AWESOME!!!!!! That vynil is one of my proudest posessions! i would walk into a room of kompakt minimal techno snobs and proudly proclaim my utter love and appreciation of that song
  19. So, like Ive said before, im really into making top tens, and this time ive decided to make a tope ten of of my favorite guilty pleasures. We all have them, songs that dont fit at all with our usual listening behavior, songs we would never admit to our friends that we like them. But, I dont only do this out of masochistic motives to expose myself, but also to see what all of you listen to at home when no ones theree to observe your coolness. Since im the ultimate cheesemaster, i split it into Electronic guiltty pleasures and non-electronic guilty pleasures. Non-Electronic: 1. Glen Campbell - Rhinestone Cowboy My fav. country song of all time, and i think just a great song overall. Really tacky, something to sing along with under the shower, I remember running around very drunk on a festival singing this, and everyone looking at me like "what the fuck??????" 2. Modern Talking - Brother Louie and all their other songs, since they all sound the same anyways, BUT I LIKE THEM Dieter Bohlen is the MAN, hes like the funniest person in the universe. Musik for the people!! mixes perfectly with prog. psy!! 3. Falco- Jeanny and Out of the Dark My fav. Austrian, except Clemens aka RTP of course, hes got that typical arrogant viennese sneer when he does his "talk-singing" thing, and the man had style!!! For me he is the austrian (viennese)prototype, and i like austria a lot, so i like Falco! 4. France Galle- Ella Elle lá I dont know what the fuck she is saying, but it just sounds too cute 80's frenchie style! 5. Rammstein - Ohne Dich The Rammstein singer, Till, has one of the most impressive voices out there. He really shows it in their romantic songs like this one. So much power and depth, it really carries a lot of weight. And he rolls his "R's" like Hitler and Goebbels used to do when he sings, that always gives it a really creepy scary un dertone (all german speakers will know what i mean) 6. Wolfsheim - Die Flut A semi-gothic epic track, very monumental, everyone i know really hates this track with a passion, but i really dig it. 7. Army of Lovers - Obsession Weird early 90's pop, i vividly remember the nurse with the big titties from the video, that really impressed me at the tender age of 14. But the track is also cool, i never heard anything quite like it ever since. 8. Bee Gees - How Deep is Your Love do i need to comment...i dont think so... 9. Nina Hagen feat. Apocalytica - Seemann THE ULTIMATE DRUNK SONG!!!! Its all about a lonely sailor standing at a street light being depressed with tears in his eyes. I think every male will be able to relate to this song, there is something very primal and existential about it. Its actually a cover of Rammstein, but Nina Hagen does it so much better. I only like this song when im piss-drunk, it just doesnt work sober or stoned. For all the girlies, if you've ever seen seen your man behaving all sentimental and weird when hes drunk, this is what he feels like. I also experienced that this is a great song for drunk male bonding, like group hugging and shouting along. 10. Kenny G. - Silhouette Music for airplanes, it seems like whenever i sit in an airplane waiting to take off, this is the song they play. Does the word elevator music ring a bell? But still, i absolutely looooove that song... Also im a big admirer of Barry Manilow, I used to consider him a guilty pleasure, but Ive come to the conclusion that he is truly great artist in every aspect, so im very open about my admiration for him, he became a"proud pleasure" !! Electronic: 1. Castor&Pollux - Serenity (JF Sebastian Mix) I usually hate trance with cheesy female vocals, but if there is one trance track with cheesy female vocals to like, this is it!!! This, is just extremely well done, for what it is, it is really outstanding. Whenever I do a mix im always very tempted to just throw it in once i get alittle faster, its just so touching in a candyraver kinda way. 2. System F - Out of the Blue The most epic of all epic melodies, epic to the fifth degree, but everytime i hear i kinda get goosebumps 3. Dune- Hardcore Vibes You just have to like that Mickey Mouse Voice singing about the Hardcore Vibes, hehe, and dont forget "This one is dedicated to all the ravers in the nation" 4. Ascension - Someone Another cheesy trance track with cheesy vocals, this one is as guilty a pleasure as it can get, it really pains me to admit that ilike it, but it really touches some weird hearstring within me 5. Snap - Rhythm is a Dancer Hell Yeah, i actually dont know if this is guilty or not, i also love "Ïve got the power" by snap, but thats definitely not guilty, thats cool as fuck. About this one, im not too sure, so ill just put it in here, the singing and rapping are kinda off-key, but the synths are fucking awesome!!!! 6. Skazi - Revolution So I chose to end my guilty pleasure top with number six, the number of the devil, with the guiltiest of all guilty pleasures. The one himself, SKAZIIIIIIII!!!! Yes, I like Skazi At least i like this track. I first heard this track from a random full-on DJ, i remember thinking, "Wow, finally a full-on track thats actually pretty cool, i like this track, i should try to find out what it is..." Since it has this really strong sampple that is easy to remeber, i asked a friend of mine who likes full-on "Hey, do you by any chance know this full-on song that goes lïke "The revolution lalala..." and he was like, "Öh yeah, thats Revolution by Skazi" and im like "noooooooo, what did you just say, you used the S-Word, Skazi, noooooooooooo". So there I had it, all my most profound prejudices were proven wrong, i was exposed as a skazi liker... now start hating on me, i deserve it Anyways, ive exposed the darkest areas of my soul, now its your turn!!!!
  20. Ultimae!!! Liquid Sound Design, Interchill!!! how about those?
  21. yeah, that IS something i'd wanna listen to on the road, the picture i get in my head is driving to las vegas from los angeles at night, passing through the mojave desert. The knight rider theme is an especially nice touch!!
  22. YES!YES!YES!YES!YES!!!! Lost in Loooooooooooooooooooooveeeeeeeeee  You are "Lost in Love" with Majoony....admit it OD.
  23. So far I would buy Seraphs Comp (i didnt know you had such good taste in music ), Nemos Comp and Tox's first Comp. This is on oldschool comp (taken from memory) I burned for a friend of mine who asked me how I got into Trance(very Platipussy) : 1. Age of Love - Age of Love 2. Jam&Spoon - Stella 3. Emmanuel Top - Turkish Bazar 4. Union Jack - Red Herring 5. Union Jack - Yeti 6. Terra Ferma - Lunar Sunrise 7. Tera Ferma - Visions 8. Legend B.- Lost in Love 9. ManwithNoname- Sugar Rush I think that was it, I probably would have put other things on there if I had them on the Computer and not just on Vynil or old completely scratched ravetrance cds.
  24. no, ive had it sober, but only around people or at parties, but never before just in my bed. actually, the first time i listened to Transmission in Vain was similar, but then I had drunk a few beers, so it doesnt count. And i love The hive, thats an awesome album!!!!!!!!!! whoever says it sucks, sucks. to seraph and bahamut, i was actually listening to the jules verne mix yesterday. and i also think the new moshic mix is pretty cool as well.
