  1. Did anyoneone mntion "Rebirth of Cavanough" yet The best track of all time. Period. No more discussion. Other than that, Klein aber Doctor and the Only Process have been mentioned, but Im surprised no one has brought up "Drums Dont Stop", also an all-time classic. And also "Bad Lieutenant" is a really amazing track. Also, the Atmos Remix of SUN Project "Statistic" kicks major ass, especially the creeking door sounds.
  2. hi kris, is see your spinning in munich in september, very nice, i live there now.
  3. I have a good one: Do you bathe and wallow in your own fecies, or why is your music so dark?
  4. IMHO D-Nox is a better DJ, cause he plays more varied. Beckers sounds like Beckers when he DJs, he has his style and sticks to it.
  5. On a more serious note: Why did you make a pseudo full-on piece of crap such as Avant.Grade in between two really nice and enjoyable albums? Was it fame, money, women, drugs or did your hamster die and the infinite sadness about this terrible event clouded your sense of good taste and made you turn into a 15 year old israeli teenager?
  6. I have one thats been burning on my mind: Are you two a homosexual couple?
  7. Ok, so Im entering, but all I want is Archipelago or Tegma. Der Dritte Raum Review Greed Review
  8. you are probably right. Im a Vynil person myself as well, a Cd is worth nothing to me, its just a piece of plastic. Vynil on the otrher hand has soul
  9. I dont get it, so Vynil isnt worth nothing, and a stupid easily reproducable and copyable CD goes for 280€??
  10. You people are insane, I have shitloads of old Goavynil from 94 on, maybe Ill sell them if I fall on hard times, I never listen to them anyways. I didnt know there are so many crtazy people who are after these things...
  11. My sister studies fashion design, and she is using "Shezabitch" for her final fashion show. She already played it to her (extremely gay) fashion professor, and he loved it as well and copied it from her, and now they always listen to that song in class when they work on their clothes..
  12. I dont get it, why dont peole just download or copy the damn thing if its so hard to come by and so goddamn expensive?
  13. thats what I call the Atmos Frequency (check out my review)
  14. I always enjoyed Atmos live a lot, I wasnt t Voov 2004, but all my friends said he rocked the place. Anyways, after reading your party review, I seriously cannot wait to listen to his new CD when its finally out.
  15. so from Profane I gathered Hallucinogen played during the eclipse, and you just said he played before??? I would have played LSD during the eclipse, if I were him (but then its the only Hallucinogen track i really like)
  16. Yeah, i get that feeling on various parts of this album, sounds that come out of nowhere and then they are just there. Kino Oko somehow achieves to create an amzing plasticity and three-dimensionality.
  17. You didnt miss much. They used to be very popular two years ago, but now they are lost in oblivion. You might have their tune RaHeYa "Bad Bad Bad Boy, go to your room, twiddle your thumbbs til i come..." really annoying with more annoying remixes.
  18. Shpongle isnt any better "DEEE EM TEEEE DEEEE EM TEEE"
  19. Get a couple of straight up monotone techno records (or prog. house with long straight beat intros) to practice your beatmatching (even if you dont like techno), and then move on to crazy psytrance. That way you will get the hang of it a lot easier. I taught 3 people to mix, and I always started them out with very straight, easy beats, and once you can mix that, you will have a lot easier time with "difficult" music because you know all the mechanics and your ear will be more finetuned.
  20. I do it all natural, I never even had the idea of counting bpm's until I saw someone else do it. IMHO its completely unnecessary, use your ears, thats what they are for.
  21. 1 Die Brummschleife 2 Chido Way 3 Polynesia 4 Narkonaut 5 Circular Structure 6 Herr Verschiedenst 7 Drehstück 8 Backup Day 9 Cunulonimbus 10 Raumzeit 11 Der Kleine Korg Und Das Echo 12 Cabal Du Midi Released on Resopal 2005 About one and a half years ago I was in a little Techno Club in Berlin called Hangar and some guy in his mid to late thirties, the hair already a little lighter on top of his head, was dancing so immersed into the music, his eyes closed, a serene and satisfied smile on his face, his whole body fluidly twisting and morphing with the music, that I pointed him out to my friend "Hey, check out that Guy, he's really into it and having fun" and my friend answered "Wow, thats Der Dritte Raum, I just saw him play live at some Festival". And sure enough, when I got home, I checked for Photos of Der Dritte Raum and it was the guy I had seen at the hangar flowing with the music. So when I picked up this album a while ago and the first funky typical Der Dritte Raum groove started to kick in, I immediately had the image of its creator dancing to it in my head. If you have seen the man dance, you know where the music comes from. If Der Dritte Raum should ever do a music video, I cannot imagine a better visual interpretation than Andreas Krüger himself getting his groove on! Theres something so playful, quirky and happy, dare I even say funky (if you read my other reviews you know I usually hate funky music, but this is good funky) about the music on this CD, if it does'nt put a big smile on your face there must be something wrong with you. I have heard everyone of DDR's releases except the last one, Klubraum, which I totally missed somehow, and this one has all the characteristics we have come to love from him, the typical wandering pushing basslines, the rhythm producing mid-section synth-stabs and of course sparse but well-chosen sounds to create delightful positive atmospheres. I would say this one is the most subtle of his albums, there are no sure-fire dancefloor hits a la Hale Bopp on here, IMHO the whole album should be listened to in one piece from beginning to end, because only then it can unfold all its magic. "Der Kleine Korg.." for sure will move any sunny dancefloor, and the girlies will be able to shake their booty to it with careless grace and style, but right now its my favorite album to listen to "while I do stuff", like cooking or cleaning or working on the computer, because whatver I do, this CD makes it more fun and therefore I also find it very inspiring. Like the other day I was cooking (Yes, I cooked, my mother would be so proud of me) with "Der Kleine Korg..." playing, and without knowing I was dancing through my kitchen with pots and pans in my hand....luckily no one saw that Ok, I digress, back on topic. Its hard to name any favorite tracks because this is a whole album to me and not a compilation and I must admit the sound is very homogenous, maybe too homogenous for some people, but my fav. right now is the title track "Der Kleine Korg.." and also "Culonibus" and "Narkonaut". Generally speaking I i like the last part of the CD, Tracks 8-12, the best for home listening, because its more harmonic and trancey, while the middle is funkier and probably more dance-friendly. To sum it up, I strongly recommend this CD, especially if you already like DDR's sound, if you are not familiar with him give "Der Kleine Korg..." some time to really sink in because it is very subtle and gentle. Or try to see Andreas Krüger dance somewhere, then you really know what his music is all about
