  1. Okay, i also respect technical skills. I dopn't know if i get your point exactly, but all i want to say is this : if there is no creativity, those skills are wasted.
  2. Well, if that is the case, then i disagree. Imo, the "low quality" sound of the past made those tracks what they were. I believe that if someone really wants to make a track with the "old-school feeling", he must use the equipment of that time. That's one of the reasons i believe the old days will never come back, as we knew them that is.
  3. imo, this is a rare occasion since most albums are mastered by profesionals nowadays.
  4. Who cares about the technical skills. Thre is good and there is bad music, it's simple.
  5. I take it that lots of people died by your rusty chainsaw
  6. haven't heard that one. I'll check it out (if i can fint it)
  7. Though i haven't heard all the albums you mentioned, maybe you'll find this interesting : Dousk - D.I.Y.
  8. hey man, don't blame it all on the drugs I'm sure you are refering to the mix which started with ambient galaxy and then dancing galaxy was mixed in it. The name of the set is Astral Projection vs MFG - Nintrance Megamix. EDIT: and now that you reminded me of it, i did a small search and here it is --> http://kierf.net/music/
  9. As i said in another post i find this album really bad. I find it too simple. It's just a bassline with a few leads on top. It lacks depth. If this is considered good full on, i don't want to hear the bad full on.
  10. Imo, it's hardly a best of compilation, lacking tracks like land of freedom, rezwalker etc. Seems like easy money to me. And generally, i think it's better to just give away such old tracks for free. That's just me though
  11. Well, i don't think this is the case. This is a really bad album. Every track is a full-on bassline and an lead on top. nothing more. I wasn't expecting to like it, but i wasn't expecting it to be that bad. You will be surprised alright
  12. What i would like to see more often is videos like Son Kite - Live in Tokio. It has many trippy stuff happening and not the same fractal/sci-fi things all the time. Especially the part where the leopard-girl dances to the rythumn of the track, is quite a bit of good work. One of the best music videos i've seen. You should definetely check it out
  13. Joke album of the year 2006. I was expecting an "April Fools" message towards the end, but nothing came up.
  14. My country (Greece) has so many acts, that i don't know which one to support first.
  15. Yep, i agree. Nothing new about it musicwise. It's just another synthesizer with fancy controls.
  16. Parakalo You should definetely check Spyweirdos - For Children to play. They create a unique melancholic atmosphere. I think they 've released a new album recently. I put Vanessa Mae in the tracklist just to be more diverse. You 've never heard of the famous violin player ?
  17. Well, i've burned a cd as a present for a friend a while ago. It was a kind of experiment actually as she has no connection with electronic music at all. I tried to put a few more mainstream tracks which might have caught her attention better. Anyway, heres the tracklist : abfahrt hinwil - of 1 Secede - Leraine Ulrich Schnauss - Monday Paracetamol Spyweirdos - No Eye Banda Vanessa Mae - Night Flight Massive Attack - Unfinished Sympathy Sasha - Cloud Cuckoo Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun (feat. Carla Werner) Chicane - Saltwater (The Thrillseekers Remix) Vangelis - Rachels Song
  18. Cool video. You got what you wanted, now we are jealus. Happy now? heh
  19. Really nice movie, enjoyed it a lot. Btw, the scene were Charlie tries to punch a guy, but he counters it, and pushes him away with an invisible force saying the words "Om Shanti", is one of the funniest ever. And heres the tracklist from the ending titles. I couldn't identify one track. X-Dream - Psychomachine Infected Mushroom - Overload(Deedrah Remix) Z - Uncle Mavis Eternal Basement - Ride On Sven Vath - Esperanca Raja Ram - Yeti Part 1 Benidrums - Sun Self Hallucinogen - Samanix GMS - Tentacles of a gellyfish Morphem - Hypnotone Sun Kings - Polyglot Man Montauk P - X-Plore Luminaire - Duet Dub Cydonia - April Fools Psychaos - Flexual Semsis - Soundvandal Psychopod - ? Psychopod - Friagram Bus - Section 8 Shpongle - Monster Hit Raja Ram & Total Eclipse - Yeti Part Hallucinogen - Snarling Black Mabel Brainchild - Symmetry Terra Ferma - The Snakecharmer Marmion - Schoneberg(MWNN Remix) Infected Mushroom - None Of This Is Real Infected Mushroom - Dracyl The Delta - Travelling At The Speed Of Thought Vernon - Wonderer
  20. This album is excellent ! It's one of my personal favourites. Especially track 2, Qi Qong, is a masterpiece. Even some of my friends, who don't listen to this kind of music, admited it is one of the most atmospheric tracks they 've heard. This happened after i put it on the car stereo, on a late night drive. All the other tracks are great also. I love how Sazanami starts relaxed and then the rhythm catches up. Check it out!
  21. I totally, 100% agree I have known this track for many years, it was always one of my favourites. A few months ago, i put it on my mp3 player and went to sleep. I tried in my head to "distinguish the sounds and patterns".But, WTF!!! After years of listening to psy, i was surprised that i couldn't easily do that with Exti Eternity. By far, one of the most complex, melodic, well-executed tracks. If theres such a thing as a perfect track, than this is as close as it gets.
  22. and there are some of us (like me) who didn' expeience the old days, but still, they find the old stuff better.
  23. I prefer old Psy, although there are a few good stuff beeing released here and there. Nowadays, what i find most interesting is ambient/downtempo/chill.
  24. Sorry, i have no idea of the other samples origin. These samples were given to me by another guy who was looking for similar tracks. I will ask him about it, but it might take some time.
