    Youtube

Yeah, that's too cool for school indeed.
  3. Nodens Ictus - Chickens in the mist
  4. I HATE THIS BEYOND BELIEF! I just discovered what the name of this tune was that keeps getting airplay at the sucky sucky sucky radiostation that plays at work. FUCK ME 3 TIMES! What a terrible, terrible, abominable track.
  5. Actually good chillout releases for this year? Hmmm... difficult one. Solar Fields was this year, right?
  6. Agree! Not really classical, but melody-wise most definitely in that vein.
  7. Wow, someone mentioned Venetian Snares and didn't mention Rossz Csillag Alatt Szuletett? Breakcore mixed with Hungarian classical music. I believe it's all sampled, but with me most of the tracks strike a chord somewhere. Some people on discogs seem to really dislike it, but to me it's quite beautiful.
  8. Hitting F5 usually works. If it doesn't: hit it harder.
  9. My racoon claps his hands in appreciation. Hurrah.
  10. Nice to hear such positive reports. I know I had a blast when I went to Twisted's anniversary show, two (?) years ago. Flying Rhino did a party after the afterparty? Cool! Actually, the afterparty looked even more promising than the Shpongle gig, if you'd asked me... Excelente.

    Trailers

Oh my Dog! Where The Wild Things Are was one of my favorite books as a kid... the monsters look exactly like they did in the book, and direction by Spike Jonze? I'm gonna want to see this one for sure!
  12. Basilisk had excellent points. Excellent read too, his post on the Twisted forum. The one thing I cannot get over with is that SP is complaining about sales going down because of piracy and the leak of his album: all understandable, although hardly a new problem. But what bugs me is that he also says that he spent WAY TOO MUCH (35.000 GBP on lighting alone, that's A LOT!) on a huge gig, which was sold out but almost didn't make him any money at all. If you combine those two things, it seems to me that you can't blame your label's financial situation just on bad sales.
  13. It's Dutch, but that doesn't make it a tasty beer.
  14. Please elaborate. I never got that name.

    District 9

I am almost sorry I didn't watch in the cinema. Great movie, nice tension, it wasn't all that realistic, and I agree that the plot wasn't too surprising, but I like the subtle satire of human behavior in the movie, the fact that Nigerians were running scams inside District 9, the aliens and their guns were really cool, and I also really appreciated the main alien character. The ending was well done, the CGI were really good and realistic and what more can I say. Comes much recommended! Highly entertaining flick!
  16. For pre-sales that's pretty big indeed. Personally, I think that if you spend 35.000 GBP on lighting for one show, for the fans, and afterwards you're complaining about almust being bankrupt, it seems to me that it's not really the fault of people downloading music. That happens to every label equally, and sure it affects the industry, but to me it seems like this is not the case with Twisted. Come on! 35.000 pounds! Losing money on a sold out concert? You can do a great show for the fans (aren't all shows for the fans anyway?) and still make money to keep a label running. That's all I want to say about that. About the new Shpongle, yes I've downloaded it because I'm curious, I think it sounds interesting but not interesting enough to buy the album [yet]. The two tracks that have singing in it, I really can't stand those. I simply can not stand the singing. I know it's me, it's not just Shpongle, I can't take that in almost any electronic music (with rare exceptions like maybe Massive Attack or Portishead or something). Just my opinion here.
  17. Oh God Damn, you're the one that stole the Alex Paterson album away from me... if you don't like it, please do resell it. Otherwise, enjoy!
  18. Nah, that's the two guys from Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here. See for yourself: And also, I know I may have been guilty of doing the same in the past, but by God... two pages of people discussing gayness in music. I'm sure happy I'm not homosexual, because gay only seems to implicate bad things. How very unnice and unemancipated. I recently asked my roommate about whether he felt offended when people use gay to denominate things they don't like, even when they don't want to say anything bad about gay people... and of course his answer was yes. So screw it. This subject has been discussed before, but I still feel it should be addressed again. Bah. As for the cover: I LOVE Storm Thorgerson's work, but this one (and actually the last Younger Brother one too) didn't really tickle my artsy fartsy nerves. Music-wise: sounds good, but nothing too out of the ordinary. Am not expecting much, tbh.
  19. Rotwang, your taste in album covers is impeccable!
