  1. Implode is also nice Good thinking, FLA is really sound exploration of complex electronic music. It's really worth taking your time to get into it, you won't regret it For me Futurepop was the genre who made me interested in listening to the synth/EBM genre again. I can give you a small list of good tracks if you want to.
  2. I'm going to think of you when I see them at the Malmöfestival this summer There's also a webstreamrip (VIDEO) available from their ongoing tour: http://delerium.ca/FLA_Live_SanFrancisco2006.mov.zip (almost 800mb, poor sound/video but great anyway) By the way: If you like that remix (I find it more danceable then the originalversion) then you might want to find out more of that. Maybe you should check out the Futurepop genre? (it's more tranceinfluenced industrial/EBM music): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futurepop
  3. You should try their latest album Artificial Soldier, one of the songs (Future Fail) is in fact guest sung by Jean-Luc de Meyer/Front 242. Quite an energetic album. Also try their third latest album Epitaph, my favourite (the track Dead Planet most powerful here). As someone already mentioned, Plasticity is their most energetic and best track ever. If you like guitars then there are a few powerful tracks on their album Millennium too. (Front 242s track Tragedy for you and Rhythm of time must be their most powerful. Unfortunately they're no good anymore. Everything sounds TB303 (old songs remixed and totally destroyed) or very minimalistic nowadays. FLA on the other hand, I can't wait to see them this summer. One of thoose bands who seemes to only get better for each day).
  4. Ok, great Because I've heard some frightening things that they add a lot of guitar when they play live. But that must have been exaggerated then or just a one-off event (hopefully).
  5. Alex604 (or whoever knows): Does Electric Universe add guitars to more tracks live then whats on record? Or is the live guitar just added to thoose tracks that originally has guitars in them?
  6. Get theese: 1. Pleiadians - 1. I.F.O - 2. Family of Light 2. MFG - 1. New Kind of World - 2. Project Genesis - 3. The Prophecy 3. UX - Ultimate Experience 4. Slide - Unstable 5. Hallucinogen - 1. The Lone Deranger - 2. Twisted 6. Transwave - 1. Phototropic - 2. Helium 7. Cosmosis - 1. Synergy - 2. Cosmology Newschool oldschool: 1. Filteria - 1. Sky Input - 2. Heliopolis Semifull on (with a bit oldschool in it): 1. Electric Universe - 1. Silence in Action - 2. Cosmic Experience 2. Fractal Glider - Parasite 3. Psydrop - Fantasy Seeds Other: 1. Talpa - 1. The Art of Being Non Puh!
  7. Great news! Anything released from Transwave is something to look forward to
  8. Ofcourse Silence in Action is different to Electric Unviverses earlier stuff if you compare it to that it might be worse. But if you like me take it for what it is (semi full on) then you might like it. I like it because the energy reminds me of energetic goa and it's melodic. This is one of the best trance albums released the last couple of years. I gave it 9/10 on my first listens but my final verdict is 8/10 because the track Science is really dull and some more variety to the songs would have been good. 8/10, buy it!
  9. Ok, I've now heard the whole album. And as I said; I love Cosmic Experience but Silence in Action is even better! This is one of the best trancealbums I've heard for ages. How can you say it's the worst Electric Universe album and worse then Cosmic Experience? Silence in Action is more Goa then Cosmic Experience and it's loaded with even more energy. Probably one of the most energetic trancealbums I've ever heard. This is a 9/10 album. Highly recommended, buy it! "This record stands out through its highest energy and balance of acid lines, psychedelic melodies and pumping baselines." Amen to that!
  10. The extracts at saikosounds sounds promising! I'm an oldschooler and hate most of the new full on, but this is something else. I loved Cosmic Experience and I'll love Silence in Action. Electric Universe is melodic and intense, love that!
  11. Well "hate" is a too strong word to describe my feelings for it. And I think it's below average compared to the best releases lately and definately worse then MFGs earlier productions. I won't go back and listen to it again though so I don't like it but I don't hate either. 2/5 maybe.
  12. Wouldn't it have been better to have a 5 ranged scale?
  13. Really really boring. I'm so disappointed. MFG was one of my all-time favourites. None of the tracks made any good impressions on me making me wanting to come back and listening to it again. And I did give it a fair chance by listening to the whole album a couple of times. It's just plain and boring. I'm so sad, they were one of my last hopes of good trancemusic
  14. The best space goa is Cosmosis but I guess you already knew that? If not try the two albums "Cosmology" and "Synergy".
  15. Yes, actually I agree... What the f**k happened with good psytrancemusic? This stuff doesn't move me anything near the Project Genesis/New Kind of World sound. Everyone says that the oldschool sound is outdated - I say this boring fullon bassline is outdated already! Just listened to old fantastic Cosmosis latest album Trancendance. The same shit here.. They were talented artists who produced trancemusic with feelings and quality. Now everyone is doing the same sound. What happened? Why?
  16. Did everyone know that this high expected album was set for a releasedate this month (Februrary)? 3 promos for prelistening and 1 full length downloadable track from the album is available at Hom Megas website: http://www.hommega.com What do you think?
  17. Ok, thanks. And the right URL is: http://www.maroceve.com/videos/ROPmoon.mov (Feel free to move this thread)
  18. The artist/name of this track, someone who knows? http://www.rhythmsofpeace.net/ropmoov.mov The URL doesn't work all the time, but you can reach the file through: http://www.rhythmsofpeace.net and then it's the file "New ROP Video (44mo) you have to download it " This thread just got deleted or disappeared for some reason don't know why, I'll try again, if it gets deleted again I guess I've violated the rules in some way.. Sorry.
  19. No one mentioned Electric Universe - Cosmic Experience.. I think it was one of the best releases 2004 together with Filterias Sky Input and Talpas The Art Of Being Non.
  20. Yes I agree. (if it's ok I'll continue calling it Goa since I mean melodious psychedelic trance which is what this thread is all about. Besides it's easier/faster writing Goa) It's probably so that psytrance has an eagerly need for reinventing itself since it is a very experimential music in itself compared to for example rock music. It all has to do with the people who needs and likes this music. Most rockers likes the way rock music has always sounded so it's still popular the way it was. Psytrance has a wide group of people wanting/needing it to evolve. But at the same time there are people like I who wants it to still be Goalike but would also like it if it evolved a bit aswell. I don't care if another I.F.O will be released I would like it anyway. Still it would be nice if it had some new elements to it aswell. Not necessarily needing so and I think a lot of people will agree on me on this. The thing is (and I still think so) the difference between rock and psytrance is that the scene is so small so the amount of people like me wanting oldschool is fewer now when many oldschoolers has turned to full-on instead. Therefor no one sees that there's still an interest in this music. I don't think Goa will ever die (sure evolve like it has already done in many of these new artists music). It was/is too unique for that. Rockmusic didn't die. Is rock so much better then Goa? No, it has to do with the amount of people demanding it if it will survive and us few still producing/releasing it.
  21. Ok, I see your point. The competition has increased today when almost everyone can do music for a minor cost. It sets higher demands on the artists music if they want to earn enough money to be able to live on their music. Also the mp3 piracy makes it harder to make a profit. But the issue was why Goa was abandoned. And I think it was. In the beginning Goa was fresh, not many had experienced trancemusic. So it was popular and had a great demand. Only a couple of years later full-on was invented and suddenly everyone went on that train. And because the Goascene was so small (compared to the rockscene for example) it was much more vulnerable in such changes and so it nearly died out. That's why I used the expresssion abandoned since everyone wanted to make/release full-on when it was introduced even most of the artists/labels who previously released Goa. If it was the money or not who drove them to do that, let that be unsaid. The scene was/is so small so it's unavoidable that such huge changes doesn't affect it.
  22. Yes because it was fresh. Trance for the first time. With full-on it got kinda fresh again and could bring a lot of money again although it didn't sound like Goa many of the old artists/labels turned into making/releasing full-on.
  23. I think trance is timeless. Sure it won't always sound exactly the same (as we have experienced now). But certain elements are so unique with trancemusic so it will survive in some sort of evoluted way I'm sure. And yes I think it was abandoned, some people who liked Goa liked the change to full-on and maybe even more new people who was earlier unfamiliar to trance (Goa) got their eyes opened when full-on was introduced (there is, and probably always has been more people liking full-on then Goa for some reasons). So it came popular and everyone saw their chance to earn some $ and the demand of this music to be played at parties also grew by that same time. Goa was forgotten/abandoned for a while simply because full-on took too much of attention when it was first introduced.
  24. Because rock'n roll is influenced in so many different genres. Guitar music is so much more accepted by a wider amount of people compared to Goa. Goa is a very small genre/hard-to-understand-type-of-music compared to rock'n roll. Therefor more sensitive to changes as which happened when full-on was introduced. People who supported Goa abandoned it and went for full-on instead.
  25. I think that people need to stay openminded to music and Goa just as it was the first time Goa was invented. I for once, try to do my own style of Goa. Both (ofcourse) sounding like Goa did (because I like Goa) but also trying to evolve it to bring new elements and a different trackstructure to the music. Some people has called it "too strange", some people has liked it, some not. It doesn't matter as long as we are trying to evolve the Goa music not trying to sound exactly the same as all the oldschool music and as long as we like what we do ourselves. Some people say: Newschool sounds too outdated or too copied from oldschool music. Well, some newschool Goa sounds almost identical to some oldschool tracks but I think it's more of an issue that this particular artist likes this typical sound and wants to do it (or in some cases infact is a copycat indeed). For thoose of you who says that oldschool sounds outdated. Well, what if you like that sound? I'm sure it's not the music who is outdated but more that you have grown past liking that sound. I'm sure you wouldn't like another I.F.O to be released contrary to us who like oldschool/newschool wouldn't have anything against it at all. I still like new released oldschool EBM just as much as I liked my first Nitzer Ebb. But it is nice if it has some new extra evoluted formulas added to it. Just as it is nice to have some new extra evoluted formulas added to the new released Goa. It isn't necessary though. I would like another I.F.O. Why are labels choosing releasing full-on instead of Goa? Yes, because of the popularity of full-on which makes it a profit and preferable to release. Why is full-on more popular then Goa? Because younger people are feed with full-on for 90% of what is released and played at parties these days. They simply do not know the oldschool/newschool sound therefor there's no demand of it. And therefor no one wants to release it or have it played at parties. What to do? Give all the oldschoolers/newschoolers/labels (Suntrip) credit/appreciation/encourage for keeping it up. Because we need that since in contrary to full-on we don't get any money of it or any gigs either for that matter. I'm sure everything works in circles. Just like the 80's music is coming back now such as synthmusic influences (Madonna, Robbie Williams and more). Goa will come back for sure (probably evolved in some way as we can already see in some newschool artists music already today). Trust in (real) trance There's nothing like melodic psychedelic Goa trance PS. You can always speculate in why people (mostly younger people) is satisfied with full-on not seeking for alternatives such as Goa (or liking Goa equally much). I think it has to do with the society we're living in these days. The harshness, no one has time, the stress, it's more like pounding away your inner anxiety with full-on music then taking your time and meditating to some really nice spirited soultravelling-relaxing Goa. I think most younger people are rather cynical these days. And who can blame them? Everything is about power, money struggling with unemployment needing to be rough enough to get a job. There's no room for our soules anylonger. Just when we really need it as most.
