  1. One of my most prized vinyls To the Rhino in the Sky He is _THE_ Flying Rhino and the namesake of the entire label I never knew him but I know him well through the legacy he helped birth
  2. Ooooh! I wanna know the rumor!!! I have my own feelings regarding Anjuna after buying the shirt+CD combo from Nervasystem but I was just going to see how/if things changed with time
  3. As for most under-appreciated or overlooked artists of that era: Process Sean Williams had his hand in some excellent work all over the place, essentially co-wrote the last great Simon Posford trance track (Beast "Trouble/Spawn"), and had a unique love for writing songs based on nothing more than analog blips and sonic twistedness. He wasn't writing formal melodies like other artists and instead used energy and sounds to create tension/release And he now has a PhD in audio shit. He worked as Satori with Pete Martin, as well as with the Flying Rhino boys, Matsuri/Tsuyoshi, Twisted/Simon, Nervasystem/Drezz, Benji/Prometheus, and of course Tristan. As far as unique 1990's era original UK analog psychedelic Goa trance, he was very unique should be up among the heavyweights of the era =)
  4. While I adore and love all things GNOTR, they're pretty damn well respected and loved by everyone who listened/listens to music of that era. They pop up on all lists regarding that time period. I believe that Quirk are more overlooked than them...
  5. Bump because the sun is shinning and I surely hope everyone is feeling the Goa spirit out there. Looking forward to getting the summer edition of this series processed for everyone to vibe with
  6. I really need to sit down and type out a proper and full review of this album but god damn, these remixes are really special. The very first thing I did was put on the Angelina remix; I hated it. A lot. Then I listened to the entire album and was slowly drawn in. Then I had a fucked up day at work, left early and drove home with the gorgeous spring time sun shining on me, and the Angelina remix came on again; everything clicked into place and I _LOVED_ that mix. Have now listened to the entire remix album again and it is fucking gorgeous. So good. So thankful for this release and to have this for the summer =) Mad thanks and love to DAT n Doof for offering up this window into these versions of these timeless classics
  7. This thread is hilarious. Let me guess, the haters are HUGE Astral Projection fans...
  8. I think the important thing to remember here is: You can't waveform spectral display a sweet pink shirt....
  9. I'll go ahead and call this statement out as bullshit. To be fair, if Doof stands behind this mastering, then it isn't irrelevant. It's actually the mastering preferred by the artist, which is what you accept. One still might not like the mastering, or whatever else someone would be nitpicking at the moment, but to call it irrelevant is simply not true.
  10. Oh, I have the original. I was real excited hoping that the remaster would beef up the bass a bit and make some of the melodic 303s that he wrote more vibrant Just aggressive loud mids is going to hurt. The OG suffers from that era of shit TIP mastering (like the Orange Comp)
  11. That's rough to hear. I haven't snagged a copy yet, and still will because I want to support and snag the remixes, but that's really too bad about the mastering. =( Gutted if it's true...
  12. Yeah, shit can be expensive. Wasn't sure if you were actually going to go through with it. Maybe you can do a kickstarter, a la Etnica vinyl pressing, and collect enough money up front to do a proper shirt printing =)
  13. Shipping is kind of a pain in the ass. Any chance of a realistic knowing of the shirt idea? I'd really like to just order a package and save on shipping if that is a realistic possibility... So very excited to hear this!
  14. ...Happy 20th(ish) Anniversary Goa Trance — Spring!... goaconstrictor.com/audio/20thAnniversary-Spring.mp3 (1hr20min/320MP3/194MB/©2015) Genre: Spring Time Psychedelic Anniversary Goa Trance Goa Trance, while it did begin popping up a bit here and there in 1993 and 1994, was truly birthed (according to my KNOW-EVERYTHING-ABOUT-GOA brain) in 1995. So that means, 2015 is kind of, for lack of a better origin story, the pseudo (like the science often sampled in the songs) birthday/anniversary of what has been known as Goa Trance. During the winter time, I made the first of what was going to be a simple two-parter to celebrate the ongoing musical gifts from this often misunderstood genre that has helped shape other genres of music for decades. As I continued my digging and assembling the upbeat mix, I realized that there were still massive missing gaps of sounds, textures, and energies of which should be shared with the world. As I thought about the connections the Goa community has with the moon, sun, and nature, I realized that it would be more appropriate to split the mix into the four seasons. Winter time was a rough, nasty, heady time. It was fast and will keep you warm throughout the winter. Spring means something else entirely. You need something like a blanket to warm you up as the cold sun starts to shine and warm up the cold roots deeply buried underground. Only then, as the soft pads and minimal techno melodies open up, do we start vibrating again. Getting those morning dews to evaporate off of the grass and rejuvenate the spirit. This mix starts around 125bpm and does a slow and steady climb up to the upper 130s. Just the proper stopping point for the summer that is just around the corner. We dig from classic vinyl only released to brand shit released earlier this year, with many sounds between. So please, join me this spring and wish a Happy 20th(ish) Anniversary Goa Trance! http://goaconstrictor.com/music/happy-20thish-anniversary-goa-trance-spring/'>goaconstrictor.com/music/happy-20thish-anniversary-goa-trance-spring
  15. because no one else writes music like Slinky Wizard, Process, or Blue Planet Corporation.
  16. I absolutely love Slide, but he sounds nothing like Xerox & Freeman, Absolum, Talamasca. Nothing
  17. I don't care if they don't exist anymore... SAIKOSOUNDS FOR LIFE
  18. I don't know if it's what you are after, but I love Delirious Noon
  19. The best thing on this album is the killer breaks section in the middle of Feeling Very Weird Overall, some of the remixes have grown on me a bit (Feeling Very Weird, both BPC tracks) but the Hallucinogen track is kind of meh and the Prana mix just doesn't do it for me either. The original and California Sunshine mixes of Rain are far better than this one and I feel an X-Dream remix might have been better with a different track entirely. I'm not a massive AP fan to begin with, as such I'm surprised that I like any of it. But, these are my thoughts... And that breakdown in Feeling Very Weird is just plain awesome
