I am quite familiar with the symbolism of the pentagram, thank you very much. Now, onto your belief that I am judging a book by its cover. Let's look at the facts: Trishula records responsible for the following releases: Psyfactor- Evil Inside V/A- Ignus Fatuus Procs- Stuck in the Oven With Me Mubali- Cats @ Play V/A Crazy Goblins and Wicked Pixies All Dark Psy. So perhaps you can see why one would assume that this would be a dark release with the pentagram (show that symbol to the majority of people and they will associate it with evil) and the devil-like creature in the center of it. Now, having said that I look forward to this release. For me a lot of DarkPsy is unlistenable (see Psyfactor's 1st album) but that is just for me. I also find the happy cheesy trance unlistenable. I quite enjoy dark-full on like Phatmatix or Shift or Zybex or Tryambaka. If Psyfactor puts out a slammer like those, I will be first in line to purchase a cd. So Trishula records, I respect you as a label and you can put any promo material out there you like. However, don't get offended when one would make assumptions about releases based on your own labels catalogue. Mdk

Happily still here! :posford: Psytrance styles may come and go, but they can never equal the feeling of goa! Mdk

Cool! Love your music! :posford: Can't wait to hear these. Thanks so much! Mdk

Wow. Just wow. This sucks donkey ass. Mdk Actually, I haven't heard it yet, but I will soon!

But not so crazy to put you off if you don't care for Suomi stuff. Mdk

Boy did I just waste an hour listening to this snoozefest. I realize this must've been when minimal was popular, but 2 Tylenol PMs don't put me to sleep like this. I agree with the first poster that this seemed like a half-assed effort. Mdk

V/A - Lucas Presents: God Save The Machine
Trance2MoveU replied to psychedelic_mustache's topic in 2006
I thought it was pretty good even today. Not sure what the attraction to Eat Static is. I don't think I have heard a track by them that was anything approaching good. And the one here further reinforces that theory IMHO. *ducks from flaming dog poo thrown by Eat Static bunnies!* Not my cup of tea I suppose. I think I liked the Dickster and Sybarite track the best. I thought it was pretty good. The bass lines were jumpy and the synths were nice. While not as powerful and ass kicking as Frozen Ghost, it still wil probably shake the dance floor. And I will definitely take this over a lot of the crap out there. Very good effort. Mdk

Just listened to it last night and I loved it! Between this, Gappeq, Tryambaka, Hiyarant, and Frozen Ghost, I am pretty content!

My entry: Every time I look at it I see something different. Mdk

That is so impressive. How long does it take you to complete a piece? The smaller one reminds me of this: Sweet! Mdk

New Astral Projection album set for 2007... (!)
Trance2MoveU replied to Jon Cocco's topic in General Psytrance
Wouldn't it be great if this album came out and totally revolutionized the scene with an absolute storming mix of Goa Trance and Psy? So all the doubters could eat a lot of crow. With all the time they are taking, I would expect nothing less. However.... Mdk -
Just heard a smashing one off of the Elixiria comp Avatar by Tutankhamon 9000 called "A Phyton In The Pyramid" :posford: Mdk

Yeah, I'm going to give this a listen today! Mdk

This wasn't terrible. I really liked the Shiloh mix. Such delicate tones! It really grabbed the ear and forced you to listen to all the notes. The Luke Chable remix was quite delicious too. It reminded me of Vibrasphere's latest album. Alas, I found the Vibrasphere mix to be too vanilla and boring. I agree with DP that the really good Aztech downtempo mix should've been placed at the end. Mdk

Here I am settling down after cleaning the apartment (well, kinda; as well as a man can clean) before watching some hockey (I do indeed hate the Philadelphia Flyers) and I thought I would digest some chill. I don't want to put my foot through the TV. With Chime, the Cello sneaks in. Letting you know it's there, but not disturbing your mood. The tabla is soft and insistent, but gentle. And my goodness, the bass drops are powerful! Light chants sprinkle the senses, and the journey continues in a lounge-like direction. Nice. Swaragami has more soft percussion with fluttering strings that speak of a melancholy long ago. Gentle guitar stings dance nimbly as the bass drops are more subtle but no less apparent. Very enjoyable. Breathing Space brings a floating wind instrument (pan flute?) above light hand percussion as a deep bass rumbles forward. The piano riff swirls effortlessly around more percussion taking over the melody. The flute returns and assumes the lead role again, but because this track is so long, I sort of lost focus. I guess that's a good thing. As a piano player I was looking forward to this song. Pianissimo begins with a soothing melody quickly joined with bouncy percussion. The bpm of this track is definitely faster. The dulcimer is very emotive, and whispers of a struggle in the clouds. As it joins the piano, the melody fades into the sunset. Mother Tongue begins with a weeping flute floating over an ethereal guitar and a tender female voice. I think she said Gaia, but that's all I could understand. The percussion has a break beat feel to it and creates a mellow groove. I think this would be my least favorite as I don't mind voices if they are an accent to the track, I just don't like them to dominate. Heal contains more flute with a rumbling bass. This track plods along with deep chants and the ethnic percussion at the "break" is heartfelt. Unfortunately, I didn't see a clear direction with this track. Beautiful, but not equal to the previous tracks. As the last track Celestial Reasoning has me in a very relaxed mood. A soft piano melody tickles the ear as nimble guitar strings race to some destination. Tribal drums resonate under a more melancholy flute. As the instruments melt away, only an ethereal voice can be heard soaring above the comforting guitar. Very enjoyable, if a bit long. I just wanted to comment on this Cd, not wrote a whole review, but it was so beautiful I felt I had to jot down my thoughts. Thank you Mr Roscoe for creating such a beautiful piece of art. It really moved me. This is the type of music you would listen to while relaxing in the rain forest during a light shower. I don't know who does that, but this would be your soundtrack. The whole CD is replete with the sounds of nature that gives an earthly or organic feel. Years ago I camped on the beach in Hawaii for two weeks and watched the waves crash in. I think it would work well there, but then then again what wouldn't? Mdk

First, is this a hobbit? Notice the high heeled clogs or whatever the hell he has on his feet. I think he looks like The Penguin from Batman. Or better yet: Mdk

Now that Ticon has jumped to the better place of trance
Trance2MoveU replied to NEMO.BOFH's topic in General Psytrance
I liked this album and I wouldn't call myself a Ticon fan. I have heard one of his albums, Rewind, and I thought it was horrible. The most boring album I have ever heard. But this one was surprising. I really liked 2 AM (reminded me a lot of Vibrasphere), Zebra Beat, and Weekend Warriors. I wanted to hate In The Box because of the housey cornball nonsensical prose, but damn if that groove wasn't infectious! :posford: Mdk -
Thanks, can't wait to listen! Mdk

Oh also for Ambient/Downtempo my number one choice is 1. Anahata - The Unmade Sound! Mdk

Stupefy is one of the best goa tracks I have heard in quite some time. I also like Nadeine Flowers by AVP and the recent New Born EPs have been quite magical! :posford: Good call Oopie!
