Especially look out for the two tracks by some of the biggest artists of the moment, Elegant Universe and Peter Gun, the new track by NDSA, the sideproject to the Swedish trance-heavyweights Ticon, and the debut release from the Israeli A Balter, who have made a very impressive, deep remix for BLT & Danni Makov's "Patterns Of..". Also interesting is the huge electro/tech house influenced tune by FREq's alter ego Nyquist, RPO's remix for "Circade" from Antix' last album, and legendary Jaydees remix of C-Jays "80808". Last but not least, the compilation also contains tracks from the Iboga regulars Maelstrom, Behind Blue Eyes and the newest signing, Quantize from Israel. 5. +1 Not the first time I've seen this kind of thread either. Usually it's based on some argument, that Goa Gil is a good DJ, because he plays the most uberpsychedelik tunes, even though his technical skills are very low. But - if I was theoretically given the choice, I would probably prefer hearing a beginner DJ playing really good tunes, and making simple fade-transitions in the intros and outros, than hearing a technically great DJ playing shitty music.
  6. Nice sound, like a diet-version of Liquid Soul, and I could easily see myself dancing to some of these tracks at a party, but unfortunately I found the album itself quite boring in the long run. Not enough variety and some of the vocal-parts ruined a handful of the tracks for me. For a debut, it was better than expected though, and I think Midimal has a bright future ahead of him.
  7. Iboga Records presents a new 3-track EP with Holland's C-Jay. C-Jay has already had a lot of success on the progressive house scene, with releases on labels like Plastik Park, Armada and Babylon, both alone and collaborating with Eelke Kleijn. On this EP is "80808", a brand new track from the Dutch producer, and two remixes by another Dutchman, Jaydee. Yes, THE Jaydee - the man who released one of the biggest house-anthems of the 90's, with the 1992-track "Plastic Dreams". We can't guarantee his remixes for "80808" will be quite as big a hit as his classic track, but we do believe he did a great job nevertheless Tracklist: 01. C-Jay - 80808 02. C-Jay - 80808 (Jaydee Remix) 03. C-Jay - 80808 (Jaydee Dub) All tracks are at the moment released exclusively at Beatport.com, but can also soon be bought at Progressivetunes.com and other sites. One of the tracks can also be found on the upcoming "Electronic Ballroom" compilation, compiled by Emok and Banel. Links: http://www.iboga.dk http://www.beatport.com http://www.progressivetunes.com
  8. Didn't like the last album, so don't really have any expectations.

    V/A - Neo::Caine

    Yes, still some great tracks here.
  10. You don't need good monitors. I have been at so many parties where there has been bad or even no monitoring, so I have gotten used to just using my headphones. Get a pair of great headphones, and you're well on the way.
  11. From what I've heard, Chicago should be on par with Raja Ram.
  12. Yes. Also wondering where Goa Gil is on that list
  13. http://www.thedjlist.com/djs/genre/tranceGoa I think words are unnecessary...
  14. Winner of what? Winner of the "Infected vs Astral vs Posford vs Cropcircles/Pleiadians thread award 2008"? What's the prize?
  15. "Amen" was cheesy. "Another World" was cheesy. I do like a fair amount of cheese, but both albums were pretty bad. There, I said it. I have absolutely no expectations for the new album, so perhaps I could be pleasantly surprised.
  16. So the last Astral Projection albums weren't cheesy?
  17. This looks like the perfect tshirt to wear at VuuV. What do you say GSH?
  18. D-Nox & Beckers - Left Behind Ace Ventura - Rebirth

  21. Title: Tribute Made by: DJ pr0fane (Denmark) Label: Iboga Records Style: Progressive house Date: Sometime last winter Total playing time: 77:26 minutes Format: MP3 (256kb constant) Size: 148 MB Download/Stream here: http://eilo.org/djs.php?dj=29 About "Tribute": The internet-radio Eilo.org asked me to record a set for them a while ago, but sadly I had to decline because I was simply to busy doing other things. The other day I found this set on my harddrive though - it's something I recorded last winter for a friend of mine who isn't really into electronic music, and therefore it's bordering towards the commercial, with elements of both U2 and Coldplay. I never really intended that it should be put online, but here you go - the style is very mellow, sexy and melodic progressive house. Enjoy :-) Tracklist: 01. Djuma Soundsystem - Les Djinns (Trentemøller Remix) // Audiomatique 02. Perasma - Swing 2 Harmony (JDK Remix) // Vendetta 03. Espen & Stian - Dominating Male // Vapour 04. Jay Lumen - Million Years // Pure Substance 05. Murat Uncuoglu - Jamfull (André Absolut Remix) // Fokused 06. Eelke Kleijn - Consequences // Noctambula 07. Solead - Lay Down // Tribal Vision 08. Tilt - Twelve (Dousk Remix) // Lost Language 09. Night Express - Night Express (Dub Mix) // Goodnight Kiss 10. Henrik B - Airwalk // Pryda Friends 11. Coldplay - Talk (Junkie XL Remix) // Capitol About me: 25 year old Jannick Andersen from Denmark is one of the rising DJ-talents of the progressive scene where he, known under the name pr0fane, is starting to get noticed nationally as well as internationally. His love for electronic music started with acts like Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre, Prodigy and Chemical Brothers - in 1997 he discovered psychedelic trance, and since then he's been a loyal follower of this scene, though in later years his taste has developed more and more towards progressive sounds. He is very dedicated to the craft and art of DJ’ing, and has been DJ’ing seriously since the beginning of the millennium, with his career really taking off in the last couple of years, resulting in bookings all over Denmark at various indoor and outdoor locations. Apart from playing at some of the best clubs and venues all over Denmark, plus in countries like England, Turkey and Germany, he has also played at some well-known festivals around Europe, such as Soulclipse (Turkey), in:deep:an:dance (Germany), Naked (Germany), Middle Earth (Denmark) and SEMF (Denmark). His taste is quite broad, which enables him to play very varied sets, depending on the different factors of the party like crowd, location and time of day - from storming full on psychedelic party music over progressive trance and progressive house, electro house, tech house to delicious ambient and chillout-sessions. In the last couple of years his primary focus has been on the uplifting side of the progressive spectrum though - mostly with uplifting sound-textures and melodic structures without getting cheesy, and with a strong sense of solid and dance friendly grooves, suitable for the magic morning or daytime hours. Always with a mix of cutting-edge new sounds and a few memorable old gems here and there, maintaining an interesting flow - and of course with the technical skills to back it up. pr0fane is currently a label-DJ for the Danish progressive psytrance label Iboga Records. 22. I only listen to Danish P3 a bit in the morning, and when I'm driving. Don't listen to internet-radios myself, but I do have some of my sets on rotation on a couple of radios
