  1. These may already be quite trancey, but they could do with some more power: and <
  2. 9 lives is the most powerfull and the sounds in that album are so sharp!
  3. quite interesting to see a man with a didgeridoo in the band. I didn't know they played with live instruments
  4. as the title says http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=24ywm06&s=7
  5. He's playing at this years Ozora and som eother festivals as well I think
  6. Since random music and devil/satanic music is not neccesarily bad music, I don't take any offence when sombody postulates that music that I like is random or satanic. I acknowledge that much within the genre is bad, which helps me recognize the good stuff. I don't think that you will become a bad person og that it will give you "bad karma" if you listen to music with screams of a picture of a devil on the cover. Just like kids don't neccesarily kill people after playing violent videogames. When you completely write off the things you don't like or don't understand - thats called ignorance, and I don't think the psychedelic trance genre was created out of ignorance. I think it is based on spirituality, parties and open-mindedness. Many within the culture is very conservative and they find that only the old goa trance is valid, but I like to explore some of the newer stuff as well, be it darkpsy, progressive etc. Psychedelic trance contains so much good stuff that I can't listen to it all, and therefor I don't spend time arguing about the bad stuff or that it ruins the genre. I mainly come to this forum because I get so many great suggestions for good music and if I dont like some of it there is always something else I cant listen to. Believe me I feel sad to see some of the old artists create new music I don't like (GMS, infected, shpongle), but then there is soo many new artists that I can choose from. Trance is my religion but I'm not going to jihad
  7. Hallucinogens Space Pussy is 156 BPM, and that track is a goa classic. The thing with BPM is just like the loudness war on records, where is it seems more impressive the louder (or faster) it goes. However, at some point the high BPM's will be subjected to inflation, where the general quality doesn't match the speed (or loudness) of the music and its not impressive anymore. It's a gift when the quality matches the BPM in music (be it high or low), and it's great to see that many are able to make great Darkpsy in 145 BPM (Pavarti Records for example). Some like it fast, some like it slow, I like it all, as long as the quality is there! The new Psykovsky is very impressive, but I'm still trying to make up my mind on that album
  8. This is THE best free darkpsy compilation that I know of. Rævehulen is a power track, and a 20 min track from Krussedull is just too good to be true.
  9. Gonna be very nice. I really got my eyes up for Gus Till when he played last years Boom Festival.
  10. It's powerfull stuff!
  11. I like this one: http://soundcloud.com/toi-doi/live-demo-march-2011
  12. Just love the old psychedelic trance covers. The more kitsch and crazy the better. I just love the one from Dragon Tales which is probably my favorite. Others from Koxbox The old Mark Neal covers are great as well The old Tip records Buggy G. Riphead who did the FSOL albums and the UX album above Newer ones from Parvati records with childrens toys
  13. I really like forest darkpsy the most, where Derango is the best, with Krussedull as an honorable mention The danish Parvati Records releases some great music, where Onkel Dunkel is my favorite The russians are producing some mad music already mentioned, but in this style I'd like to mention Ocelot Ghreg On Earth has a very distinct sound which I like I'm sorry to overload with links, but I hope I covered several styles of darkpsy. In the early beginning I thought that darkpsy was hard to get into. But after experinecing it live I was sold!
  14. A Litte review on this one is up the the review section :-)
  15. Koxbox - Crystal / World Of Illusions Artist: Koxbox Title: Crystal / World Of Illusions Label: Where’s The Party (WTP) Date: 1993 Discogs: http://www.discogs.com/Koxbox-Crystal-World-Of-Illusions/release/177089 Track listing: A1: Crystal A2: Orientalic B1: World Of Illusions Review: Ok I don’t know why it took me so long, but I do want to contribute and here it is. Together with “Acid Vol. 3/Birdy” this is one of Koxbox’s first records. Discussing which came first is rather pointless, as both records have the same degree of old school in them. Discussing which is better is even more pointless, and I must admit that this one has grown on me as much as the other one has. Crystal The track starts out with an eerie atmosphere, and an understated bass-line. The main melody kicks in, but initially it sounds like it has had all its air punched out. Quickly the melody is twisted into something really wicked, and the track is in full motion. With extra tribal percussion and the usual koxbox squelches, clicks and pops, we’re suddenly presented with a mystical oriental melody. A strange voice asks “did you enjoy that!?” I certainly did, and I am left to enjoy the rest of the track, which ends with some synths I swear I have heard in the beginning of some Transwave track (Land of Freedom). Orientalic This is the original version of Orientalic, found in a newer 95-remix on the Forever After album. The newer version has some tabla on in, making it more “orientalic”. However this older version I feel is more “electronic” and analogue, since the playfulness and the experimental side of this track is more pronounced. The two tracks remain similar and exist as a testament to the way Koxbox was able to combine a sound that is very techno and hypnotic with one that has hints of Arabic/Indian patterns and is very psychedelic. World of Illusions This Track is not as oriental as the other two. But the track clearly makes up for this with its length and some twisted Danish techno. The main melody doesn’t change much during this long track, but it is supplemented with a lot of hypnotic and very playful synths and crazy tribal percussion. The track ends in a dreamy synth, soothing us out of this little crystal-gem. The tracks presented here is not as hard hitting as the ones on “Acid Vol. 3/Birdy”, and they dwell just below 130 bpm. However the tracks contain an understated mystical wickedness not found on “Acid Vol. 3/Birdy” which I have really come to enjoy. How old-school are these first released tracks of Koxbox? Well they do sound more techno than trance as we know it now. But they have an attention to detail and playfulness not found on first releases of other trance artists (Doof - Disposable Hymns to the infinite, Transwave - Datura). They sound just as old to Forever After, as Forever After to Dragon Tales, but at the end of the day they all sound great! Pixma
  16. Well it wasn't Thanks to all for a little event with big bass

  18. This group of Hare Krishna used to sell goa-trance CDs in CPH http://www.discogs.com/label/Bhaktivedanta+Book+Trust
  19. This makes me think of Hux Flux's Cryptic Crunch somehow
  20. Has this event been cancelled? If not ask about the "Live At Burning Man 1996" What made them go from techno to goa trance? How they got started, something about a radio show... How they met Ian Ion. Ask about "Fuel On" If its true Dragon Tales was made in Hillerød <- LOL How they met Raja Ram? If Ian Ions sister is really famous? There is a lot you can ask him
  21. Hallucinogen 3 (which should be a darkpsy album!) New album from Derango New album from Yggdrasil records An album from Onkel Dunkel or Speakerhuggers
  22. This is the darkest I know of: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSew9BaNP78 Its from this album: http://www.discogs.com/Various-Morthor-Spede/release/896843 but I don't know if the darkest track on the album - trance with satanic themes aren't really my cup of tea..
