  1. Artist: Electrypnose Album: Funked up Style/influences: Psychedelic, progressive, electro, minimal(track 5 is break beat) First of, i wasn't a big Electrypnose fan before, the fast stuff he makes fall out of my taste, even though i usually like fast, darkish psytrance But when that has been said, this album is really something ells! Forget all about what you know about Electrypnoses previous albums. This is Psychedelic minimal progressive electro trance, and i simply can't stop loving it! In this album the production reaches perfection, every little sound effect seems to be in total control, all the way down to the smallest effects and reverb tales. The different sounds is filtering and evolving perfectly into eachother, the groove is so funky and cool, that it's impossible not to start bouncing around to it... It has alot of electro dance influences, but it remains far from cheesy! It's build in the same way as electro in some parts, but with a psychedelic pinch, and the tracks and melodies evolves in a way that i have never heard before! It has some rather dark atmospheres, but in the same time it's very funky, the sound is crisp and it's alot of fun IMO. The bassline goes from electro to progressive trance, the melodic arrangement is very simple in places(like electro) but he fucks the sounds up so good that you won't regognize anything, its just so beautifully produced, the sound is crystal clear! In some parts the melodies reminds me of the old IM(I can't put a finger on why, caus it's not that it sounds the same, but more like the feelings i get from them) In parts it reminds me of krumelurs 2006 album, but not as minimal, yet the same funky, wicked groove(IMO) Not all tracks on the album is equally good, but when i play the whole album from track one, theres not a single time on the album where im even thinking about changing track. I especially like tracks 1,2(!),3,4,6,,8(!),9,10(!) This is a strong contender for album of the year, together with Kino Oko. Not as beautifull as kino oko, but more roar, groovy, funky AND funny IMO. They are both influenced by other electronic genres, but in completely different ways. I am carefull about rating it, when i only have had the album for about a month(caus i know it will change with time), but if you force me to put a grade on it right now, i will give it a 9/10 for the totally innovative ideas, and the perfect production! Don't miss this album! Samples provided by Psyshop: CLICK ME! (don't know why it's unavailable though )
  2. The melody seems rather off rythm? Anyways, I can't catch the flow. The kick/bass sounds a little muddy. Other than that, i believe it's the same acid line all the way through the track? Pretty boring IMO. But I like the acid sounds you have created(presets?), but i don't like the arrangement. Sorry
  3. I make music myself(amateur level) and have never played an instrument.. I've allways been interested in music and have analized alot, wich i think is a good thing to do if you want to understand what you are producing yourself. so i don't think it's neccesary to "know all the rules to break them" if you just have a good pair of ears, but it will save you alot of trouble and time I've messed around with FL and reason for several years, and now i work in cubase. After several years i've learned to put my thoughts into the music, you know, make my idea's in the way i imagined then.. And im still progressing... But i can imagine that if i had experience with other instruments, i could have saved ALOT of time to get to the level where im at now. But mainly, your music is lacking production skills (frequency interferrence, EQ'ing, compression ect) but it's definatly not bad at all for your first attempts I don't know if you watched it, but Synsuns mixing-secrets tutorial really helped me alot with the production part... wich someone would have told me about it years ago Watch it, learn how to level the different elements, and use a EQ and make the sounds fatter and more pleasent to the ears. It really makes a BIG BIG difference! Like i say to myself, Keep it up, and remember, Rom wasn't build in a day
  4. Yeah, i said IMO When i dance to psytrance, i love to go nuts, stomping around looking like an idiot. Thats hard to do with slower electronic music IMO. Guess im just an agressive dancer But as i said, if you like dancing to slower music, this would work great as well.. For me, i'll just keep this album for homelistening (home dancing). I also pay much better attention to all the beautifull little details this album is filled with, if i don't dance to it
  5. Yeah, life vocals... and life guitars.. IT SUCKS!!! But it was a cool guitar though, filled with illuminous artwork, and the dude playing was wearing illuminous close... What a bunch of retards
  6. I see this album is made for homelistening. It's very much a grower, i find new things in this every time i listen! But it's a bit to slow for the dancefloor IMO.. But if you like dancing to electro(and other slower electronic music) this would work there as well
  7. Sorry dude, didn't read your explanation... I understand But i hope you figure it all out, sorry to hear about Suntrip rec. ! And what about a new off-topic on a different server like 48hrs pie? I really like some of the people in here, would be sad if we didn't have a place to talk about other stuff than psytrance! Caus that was one of the things i like about this place, here are people different from what i know in real life, people you can learn from, people who opens your mind to new things... Of coursae there was alot of spam and other things, but much of that was humor and funny reads.
  8. I can't download.... Re-up Nemo Wanna hear what you got
  9. NIce.. Thanks, it works Im having trouble with the arp. in Zeta+ though Don't really understand it
  10. 100% agree Another thing: If someone really want to hack psynews... Shoudn't it be just as easy doing it through the general or any other section? I just can't understand what off-topic has to do with this. It sounds like you wanted to get rid of off-topic section in the first place, and this is just a good excuse to do it. Hope i don't offent anyone, but a better explanation would be in it's place IMO.
  11. Equally bad as well
  12. I don't believe you're dumb as fuck, when you are able to write such creative, insightfull reviews. And just caus you've done "to many stupid things in your life", doesn't make you stupid.. Just human If you do the same mistake several times, okay, then you are stupid. I don't know if thats the case with you
  13. That one cracked me up OF course, there will allways be exceptions
  14. Haha, yeah +1000... Don't think i've ever met a hiphopper who doesn't like something ells as well... Raggae, electronic, even pop music
  15. Thats exactly my thought's. And as Supergroover sais about complex/complicated music as jazz or whatever, it's the same boat in my eyes. Allthough it is electronic dance music, it is THE most complicated kind, that tells stories instead of repeated melodies. It plays with your mind, and is build in complex layers.. You get my point
  16. I've experienced the exact opposite. Very far between girls i meet, who don't look stupid at me, when i play some music for them
  17. I've thought about this sometimes... When you see people who don't understand psytrance, but listen to hardstyle or electro and stuff like that.. It's usually the hooligan type, or just slight retarted people(not tojudge ALL hardstyle fans). Can it be, that their brain just isn't strong enough to process all the different layers and sounds of psytrance, so that they will never be able to experience the beauty in a "grower"(you know the tracks that we need to listen to several times before understanding it). That they can't disconnect the sounds, and feel each instruments. Caus if you can't do that, it's no wonder it just sounds like noise to them. I know some "rather dumb" people who are into fullon like the new INfected mushroom, Growling machines, GMS-enjoy the silence(shit like that) wich is IMO empty music, just like hardstyle. They say they love psytrance ( ) but every time i put on something REAL, they don't like it. Maybe my theory is just bullshit, caus i know alot of intelligent people, who DON*T like psytrance, but then again, they aren't into electronic music at all. Any experiene or theories on this?
  18. Kino Oko-ADH Electrypnose-Funked up ADK-Progressing FREq-Remixed Artifakt-the magus Kluster-missing link Braincell-Frequency Evolution Tegma-Lo-Fi adventures Ticon-2AM pretty good Fullon as well: Headroom, Sine die, U recken, Digicult, Burn in noise I don't see any reason to be disappointed
  19. Neither am i, but Furios is REALLY good! Never digged anything above 150bpm as much as this!
  20. Not forest, but intelligent: Penta-Horn please Furious-Uncanny beats (160-170bpm but VERY nice and psychedelic. No random chaos here)
  21. F.F.T-On top! Hahahah, this is simple fullon... WTF are they talking about: Psy in it's purest form. Yeah, this is really mind expanding and psychedelic... Mmmm
  22. Wow, this is REALLY BAD Yeah, you never get tired of the Blade anthem... Or do you? Im with Frozen Dream on track 7 though! Maybe track 8 will be something as well, hard to tell from a 30second sample
  23. Haha, looks like i was a little buzzed out last night So emotional What a bunch of bullshit
  24. thanks dude, problem solved
