  1. E-Clip - Shuma Yellow Sunshine Explosion, 2011 1. Life Is Enough 2. Asia Tribe 3. Crow 4. New Level Of Being 5. Chandra 6. Reactor 7. Nostalgic 8. Existence 9. Cosmic Energy A Serbian artist named Marko Radovanovic (a.k.a. Radule) created his album called "Shuma", which he released via Yellow Sunshine Explosion under the nickname E-Clip. Once an artist connected with the likes of such labels as TesseracTsudio, Iono Music and Blue Tunes Recordings, he delivers vibes from the progressive psytrance genre in a smooth way. People who know these labels and their releases should already be aware what to expect on this CD. Moreover, one can feel evident full-on influences in his output, which should not be a surprise when taking into consideration the fact that earlier Marko was active as a full-on producer under the name Beyondecliptica. "Shuma" delivers very good material, worthy of its beautiful emerald cover. I was a bit afraid that the album will be made in similar vain to music by the omnipresent crew of Zyce, Flegma, Sideform and Nerso, who plunged deep into clichés many times repeatedly. Indeed, one can hear a lot of connections and similarities, even inspirations as far as their style is concerned, but the album has its own vibe and the mixture of progressive majesty and full-on power in proper proportions gives a good result. There is this intangible "thing" which cuts off this album from many other standard releases of this type. This "thing" enabled me and still enables to come back to this album time and again, which I consider to be a big success. When establishing the order of tracks on this album, the artist was seemingly guided by the rule conceived by the master Alfred Hitchcock, that is starting with an earthquake and building up the tension. One of my favorite tracks on this album, namely "Life Is Enough", is a perfect example of such earthquake in music terms. Just play it and take a deep dive into waves of psy-progressive power, best in connection to the evening sun at some summer festival. The tracks are well-built, nothing is random here. Along with this idea, Marko emphasizes a correctly established introduction, well-built core and non-absorbing ending. True, E-Clip works within the lines of a certain pattern, but on the other hand one does not need some amazing twists and turns at every moment if we want to get in tune with the music and trance out - this is what this music does in a great way. If we add an undisputed load of energy to the whole thing, we end up with a package one cannot disregard. Well done, mr Radovanovic. 2. Ops, I'm sorry, didn't see that one - mods please move my post to the other topic.
  3. Space Tribe - Space Tribe Continuum 1 Space Tribe Music, 2011 CD 1 1. In The Hands Of The Shaman 2. Machine Elf 3. The Future's Right Now 4. Live & Let Live 5. Who's Nutty 6. Geomatrix 7. Telepathic Contact 8. All You Need Is Spirit & Nothing 9. You Can Be Shiva CD 2 1. The Acid Test 2. All Senses Vibrating 3. Loopy Loo 4. Dance Like Nobody's Watching 5. Twitch!! 6. 2000 O.D. 7. Live What U Love 8. You Create Your Own Reality 9. What Is Consciousness Olli Wisdom is undoubtedly one of the pioneers of psychedelic trance. Since the dawn of his project the guy from the land of kangaroos has released like a 100 of Space Tribe albums and sold tons of colorful fluoro-clothes of his own brand. Recently it dawned on him to dust off his older output as far as some hype for retro is concerned and occasionally to make some penny, the effect of which is an ample two-CD release from the "historical / best of" field fitted with a cool and very accurate title "Space Tribe Continuum". What we have here is Olli's musical output beginning from 1993 and ending with 2002 (not 2000, as the online promo-blurb says). In my opinion this is the most interesting period of Wisdom's activity as Space Tribe, because it was then when he set above the psychedelic element over the rest - later those priorities underwent a lot of changes and quantity became heavily dominant over quality. The tracks on both CDs were taken from albums, singles and compilations released years back. And so, one can taste the rich collection of tunes from the "Sonic Mandala", "The Ultraviolet Catastrophe", "The Future's Right Now", "2000 O.D., "Religious Experience" and "Heart Beat" albums, as well as two singles: "The Acid Test" and "Live And Let Live". Though the track "You Can Be Shiva" has the "unreleased" status, it could not be further from the truth, because the track has been already released at the "Dragonfly Classix" compilation. Nevertheless, we have an immensely interesting set of old (but gold) tracks here, which, in my opinion, did not lose anything from their primary glamour in the lapse of time. Moreover, they gained a lot of value and - adding the fact that they were remastered - also more modern paintjob. As some of the most interesting I would enlist the tracks coproduced with two titans of the scene: Simon Posford (the deep "In The Hands Of The Shaman", crazy "Machine Elf" and delirious "Geomatrix") and Boris Blenn (the epic party dynamite entitled "The Acid Test"). Of course the solo tracks by Space Tribe are not far behind and also provide some nutritious psychedelia. Tracks like "The Future's Right Now", "Who's Nutty", "Telepathic Contact", "You Need Is Spirit & Nothing", "You Can Be Shiva" and "Dance Like Nobody's Watching" are undoubtedly worthy representatives of the dynamic and colorful world of this artist. All in all is it a nice retrospective compilation with balls and a large dose of untamed fluoro-madness. Templar / http://www.psytrance.pl Links: http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/stm/stm2cd010.html
  4. Space Tribe - Space Tribe Continuum 2 Space Tribe Music, 2011 CD 1 1. A Pinch Of Psychedelic 2. Spiritual Experience 3. Single Dose 4. All Reality Is Virtual 5. Astral Body Surfing 6. See The Light 7. Short Term What?? 8. Giants 9. Kikkin' Up Some Dust CD 2 1. 3rd Eye (Spacebase Mix) 2. Alien Attack 3. Alternate Future 4. Total Disintegration (Guitar Mix) 5. Wacko 6. Spiritual No Body 7. Time Warp (Guitar Mix) (feat. Jon Klein) 8. Mid Summer Night's Dream 9. Deep Purple Haze (Star Spangled Mix) The second part of "Space Tribe Continuum" is another chapter of a trip through time and space continuum with Olli Wisdom along the rhythm by Space Tribe. This two-CD collection gathers Space Tribe tracks from the time period of 2001-2010 and strongly underlines the collaborative character of Olli's tunes. While in the first part of "Space Tribe Continuum" among 18 tracks five of them were created with three other artists (Simon Posford, Electric Universe and Psywalker), here the proportions are entirely different. Out of the 18 tracks presented here only four of them are solo Space Tribe tunes. The rest was made with other artists, namely GMS, Absolum, Menog, Electric Universe, CPU, Psywalker, Sirius Isness and Mad Maxx. On one hand cooperation with his fellows in crime made the Space Tribe profile a bit more attractive, on the other hand it is not so good as one would suspect. It is easy to see that with the dawn of a new millennium the head of Space Tribe Music fell into a routine hole, which can be clearly heard in his tracks, even if they are coproduced with others and bear some other signatures than Olli's. Moreover, Olli went too easily with the current of new musical trends and was ultimately left with the content similar to the rest. Somewhere there one can still grasp his unique character, however it was watered down for the sake of being cool. This collection has its moments (for example "See The Light" or "Kikkin' Up Some Dust"), but as a whole it does not strike as being good, especially when contrasted and compared with his earlier, more interesting output. It is better to get a hold of the first part of "Continuum" and stop there. Especially concerning the fact that the times depicted here are not so distant. Mind Rewind

Mind Rewind DAT Mafia Recordings, 2011 CD 1 1. Green Nuns Of The Revolution - Kwo-Ne She (Original Unreleased Version) 2. Deflo - Salt Lake 3. Doof - Mars Needs Women (Just 3 Words Mix) 4. Etnichaos - The Other Side Of Reality 5. Dimension 5 - Ganymede (Guitar Mix) 6. Infinite Zen - Friends From Tau-Ceti 7. Etnica - Shadow Dance 8. Slinky Nuns - Caught In The Zipper 9. Zerotonine - Two Faces 10. Blue Planet Corporation - High NRG CD 2 1. Joti & Ofer - Untitled 2. Total Eclipse & Simon Posford - Sound Is Solid (Remix) 3. Graham & Serge - The Full Monty 4. The Muses Rapt - Mediums Of Trance 5. PsyChaos - Return Voyage (2-1) 6. Mushroomman - N.I.S. 7. Uni-Vers Concept - Phase One 8. Electric Universe - Rain (Original Unreleased Version) 9. Aural Planet - Changing My Mind 10. North Central Positronics - The Great Bear Rewind your mind. This is the main premise of a highly interesting release from DAT Mafia Recordings. "Who are they?" - one will ask. This loosely knitted collective consists of, surprise surprise, 32 people, including the likes of Mars, Draeke, Anoebis, Colin Bennun, Gizmex and many more. They are psytrance fans who established a cooperation together through Discogs, pulling all necessary strings to bring into daylight old and forgotten tracks from very well known artists who had undoubtedly contributed to the scene. This compilation is the result of their activities. Both CDs are full of previously non-released music (with the exception of "Sound Is Solid (Remix)", "Phase One" and "The Great Bear", which were released years ago only on vinyl), which instantly teleports the listener to the times where the magical element of these vibes reached possibly the highest point when it comes to its concentration per every minute of a track. The people we are going to deal with here are indeed some of the highest order. One look at the tracklist says it all: 100% epic. One can stumble upon the likes of Simon Posford, Green Nuns, Etnica, Electric Universe, Total Eclipse or Aural Planet. Artists were are still going to be remembered for many years to come, in contrast to many other who have their proverbial five minutes, but who will fade away in time compared to the immortal giants and their timeless music. It is a materialization of tracks which circled in the memories of goa-freaks or on old digital audio tapes until this very moment. It is not only a real treat for a collector, but also a refined portal into the past. Thanks to it the far away times seem to be happening right now. The release is sure to awake a goa-geek hidden in many of us, bringing back the still-living memories, when we held compilations like "Goa-Head" in our hands, listened to releases marked with Dragonfly Records, Flying Rhino Records and TIP Records logos, or attended our first trance parties, dominated by "weird music" and unique decorations showered with ultraviolet light. Everything laced with a hard-to-define omnipresent element, which makes it all a remarkable experience, not only taking our minds off everyday life, but also taking us off the ground. We have 20 tracks here, 20 rare tracks to be precise, deeply rooted in the realm of oldschool goa/psychedelic trance. The richness of this all-you-can-eat buffet leaves one enchanted. Many top names of the psychedelic trance scene speak for themselves. One has to admit that the compilation's creators managed in most cases to hold onto some mighty fine gems. How can someone be indifferent to the never-released-before versions of tracks by Green Nuns, Doof or Electric Universe? Their new sonic clothes fit them really well. "Rain" grasps you by the heart with its convincing atmosphere of electronic rain and goa-nostalgy, making us also regret that Blenn turned to cheesy full-on for masses in the recent years. Slinky Nuns? Yes, please! Yum. It is also worth directing your receptors at bombs delivered by Etnica, Psychaos and Oforia. "Shadow Dance" by the Italian masters easily shows who was running the goa-world years ago. The similar case is with their cooperative tune made together with Joti Sidhu called "The Other Side Of Reality", where the artists give as a drifting track with an edge, while "No Name" delivered by Joti and Ofer is a thick, metallic goa-monster packed with isra-energy. Another positive side of this release is the new version of an old hit by Dimension 5, a group I consider to be among the most essential for the goa trance genre. I whole-heartedly advise you to check out the collaboration track made by Graham Wood from The Infinity Project and Serge (Total Eclipse) called "The Full Monty". It is an immensely hypnotic, 12-minute odyssey dipped in the mystery of cosmic oblivion, crafted in a progressing and consistent way from its first moments. This is how you create deep and absorbing tracks without the loss of quality and suspense, especially with such long tracks. The sight of Total Eclipse & Simon Posford being a part of the second CD is guaranteed to make a goa-freak's heart go wild. I was taken by surprise by the Germans from Zerotonine. Until now I had their image in my head as the guys who delivered quite raw tunes along with their "Cygnus Loops" album. "Two Faces" showed me their second nature - the artists are also great at making tracks in the style of energetic goa trance. Blue Planet Corporation, another prominent old-timer of the scene, did not let me down as well. He enriched the compilation with a goa-downtempo hybrid track. "High NRG" finds its way to the chapter of goa trance history filled with tracks like "Ambient Galaxy" or "Still Dreaming (Anything Can Happen)" by Astral Projection. There is also a Polish accent here, namely a piece of dynamic goa by Radosław Kochman (currently known as Sundial Aeon). "Aural Planet - Changing My Mind" is an energetic goa trance track depicting a worldwide class. The whole thing is underlined by a rather less known, but worthy of all attention project by Simon Posford. North Central Positronics are Posford and Ben Kempton plus some guy called Factor E. The first two gave the world a well-known psychedelic anthem called "LSD". "The Great Bear" is another tune with a soul on his compilation, throwing us into a vortex of multicolored psychoactive music. Of course one cannot forget about the rest of the tracks, whose creators are maybe not that famous as Simon or Boris Blenn, but they also bring a lot of enthusiasm and colors of those years onto the plate. I shall mention Mushroomman here, who I recall from the "Karahana" movie soundtrack. Here he showed that euphoric tracks do not have to be cheesy. What makes this two-CD set of old-but-gold tracks even more interesting is that many of the artists presented here currently either create music in an entirely different way and styles, sometimes less attractive for psychedelic fans, are not that active as they used to be, or one does not hear almost anything about them (example being Doof). I also have to mention about the important element of this compilation, which is the 12-page booklet. One can find here interesting stories about the origin and process of creation of all 20 tracks. A fine addition to the compilation's retro-value indeed. The compilation is limited to 604 printed copies - the number could not be more significant. The goal behind "Mind Rewind" is very honorable, as all profits go for the Goa-based charity Children Walking Tall. Here is the proof that united we stand. The release of "Mind Rewind" is a great initiative I can only salute. I enjoy all historical releases and this one fits my needs perfectly. I think I will not overstate things here by saying that this release is one of the most important things in recent months, maybe even years, as far as this genre is concerned. I just hope that the compilation will be a treat not only for "old farts", but also people from the younger trance generation, because the educational qualities of both CDs are undeniable. Forget for a moment about all other reanimators of goa in new times - the essence is here. It is fruitless to search for two identical tracks here, as each is one of a kind and tells a different story, all in the spirit of the past years. This is what this music is all about - the vibe and variety. It is not a difficult task to release an album with 8-10 tracks which will sound as if they were copies from a copying machine, all with different titles. It seems to be the basis for the activities of many artists who create neo-goa sounds and who dive deep mostly into the world of sweet, melodic goa, forgetting that this music has many faces and exists in many forms, shades and flavors. The musical content of "Mind Rewind" leaves them far behind, proudly flexing its oldschool muscles and - most importantly - these are genuine muscles. Minuses? I liked some tracks more than some other, but this does not mean they are bad. The main disadvantage is that there are only two CDs - let that be a clear message for the DAT Mafia crew that we want more. Some time ago I read in one of the interviews that Astral Projection throughout all years of their existence created so many tracks that they could release dozens of albums and still have plenty left. Of course it is more than obvious that most of them are rejects which are destined to stay in the shadow till the end of times or are long gone, but surely a small fraction of them is worth considering. Many tracks are still waiting to best dusted off and given a new life. I challenge the DAT Mafia Recordings people and hope that "Mind Rewind " is not just a one-time thing. I also thank all of them for giving my ears and mind a large dose of oldschool vibe in its best form. One thing is for sure: not matter what I would write here - you have to listen to this. 11. Thank you for the review Trance2MoveU, it was fun to read it, especially with the particular catchy style you employ while writing. I'm glad you liked the compilation - that was the purpose: to deliver good music in different style,s but without losing the grip on the content and quality. "It sounds well produced and the cover artwork is very beautiful. Is that in Poland?" Yes, the photo on the cover (as well as the rest of them) was taken in Gdynia (northern Poland): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gdynia "I would love to go back to Poland and see the country properly, that's for sure." I assure you that there's plenty to see here. The food is very good, the women are some of the finest in the world - what more can a guy ask for? Other reviews and comments are also appreciated, as they will give us some feedback (be it positive or negative, provided it's constructive) on what we did and what we still plan to do. More releases from Psytrance.pl wil follow, that's for sure. To be continued - watch this space.
  12. This is one stunning compilation I have to say. Very good initiative by the Discogs crew. The tracks are suberb and leave behind all this generic neo-goa fuss - here's the real deal and in modern times! A vide variety of moods and elements - this is what this music was always all about, not just 8-10 tracks with the same patterns, which seems to be the basis for goa trance nowadays, leaving no room for exploring music other than fluffy melodic AP-clones, with the exception of very few artists. Soon I'll provide a review, as this one deserves it.

  16. My review of "Alien Jesus - Open Your Eyes": http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?/topic/62207-alien-jesus-open-your-eyes/
  17. Alien Jesus - Open Your Eyes Space Tribe Music, 2010 1. Open Your Eyes 2. Rhythm Of Life 3. Faster Evolution 4. Alien Jesus 5. Becoming Insane 6. Tonus Diabolicus 7. Lucy In The Sky 8. Digital Ant's Nest 9. Everything Is Nothing There have been many of them: Dali, Hypersonic, Massive... Generally a glorified crew which should not be spoken of. As an addition to this collection came Alien Jesus and the "Open Your Eyes" album, which instantly shocked psy-fans more than the pornworld-thrilling statement made by Jenna Jameson that she will never spread her legs in front of a camera again. The people responsible for this abomination are the (once) respected psytrance specialists, namely GMS and Space Tribe. The name is just as cheesy as Miley Cyrus, while their music here is knocking from its bottom's bottom. "Open Your Eyes" is a detestable thing born out of low diversity of gene pool in closed societies such as Space Tribe Music. The continuous repetition of Olli's music genotype sooner or later had to bear fruit such as this one. I do not see the slightest reason to describe individual tracks as there is no point in wasting both my and your time. As a way of fulfilling a duty and leaving curiosity behind I advise you to listen track samples at some online shop as an illustration of this whole peculiar phenomena. To put it in a delicate manner: someone overdid it by releasing this album. The GMSpace Tribe crew seems to be very delighted by itself and tries to sell the listener music-idiocy in the form of no-hands full-on rollercoaster, sprinkled with very cheesy motifs and vocals. A motley and kitschy mosaic. Kitsch can fun and intelligent, but Alien Jesus are no Tarantino or Rodriguez. The idea itself maybe has some kind of potential, but in a situation where I do not like already the first track and the rest is not good either, this does not generate good feelings about the whole thing. Let's not shout that it is crap etc, because there is no point in discussing such obvious things like the fact that there are crazy politicians in the world. It is evident that it is first and foremost exceptional rubbish, of which I could suspect the GMS guys, but Gould never expect such a thing from Olli Wisdom. After listening to the tracks here one can quickly come to a conclusion that maybe the material on albums such as "Dali - Colours" and "Hypersonic - Lerger Then Life" (I left the original spelling, which already made it to the top of psy-mockery) was not so bad. Scary as though it may be, it is very true. Long time ago in schools run by priests there were debates - quite serious I must add - about issues such as: how many devils will fit themselves on the head of a pin? When the "Open Your Eyes" album saw its daylight, psytrance online communities began to discuss this faux pas made by the artistic trio. There is nothing to wonder about and search some hidden truths besides the fact that it is best to forget about this release. There were comments that the album's authors made it just for laughs. It would be very convenient to think so, because it is such a disgrace that in can be a serious threat to political commotion all over the world, where one can experience true clownery and disgust. Maybe the artists wanted to make us laugh, but I cannot say if they proved to be successful in this field. To make one laugh one needs to have such skills too. Here GMS and Space Tribe turned out to be artistic impotents. Instead of laughter, this shallow and infantile album makes one shake head in disbelief and pity. If it is a joke - all I can say is that it is very dry humor and nobody is laughing, except for the joker, who also becomes quiet quickly. The worst thing is that it could have been a very good album, because the people behind it have been with the scene for a very long time and know a lot about creating music. Some time ago Raja Ram wrote on his Facebook page: "music is God's breath". In this case, dear reader, strong mints are an absolute must. To paraphrase the album's title: open your eyes, close your ears. Templar / http://www.psytrance.pl Links: http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/stm/stm1cd009.html

  19. Carbon Based Lifeforms - VLA Ultimae Records, 2011 1. VLA "VLA" (which stands for the Very Large Array radio astronomy observatory) is a kind of a cousin of the "Twentythree" album, a full ambient album by the Carbon Based Lifeforms duo, where the Swedish musicians served a deep experience in the field of cosmic, floating music. This release came into existence only in digital form. It is also a continuation and a supplement of the aforementioned album, where one could stumble upon a 10-minute version of the "VLA" track. Here the title track lasts for - surprise, surprise - one hour. His creator (Johanness Hedberg) takes us for an intense, hour-long journey, ruled entirely by ambient, hypnotizing drones. Suddenly the listener is surrounded by the coldness of dark oblivion, mystery, omnipresent uncertainty and cosmic depth, which make up these kind of vibes. The sonic elements presented here have been limited to the necessary minimum, with spare pads as their basis, which elongate and last almost in a never-ending way. Some will consider it an advantage, some a disadvantage. Personally I am somewhere in the middle. I would like for the artist to introduce to this one hour-long story more variety - here we are left with everything being the same from its beginning till the end, which leaves one to think that the artist took the easiest way out. And yes, on one hand, the things being made in the simplest way can be perceived as taking a shortcut on this talented artist's part. On the other hand, we receive an uninterrupted musical thought, which, accordingly to the marketing slogan of this release, constitutes a one hour long soundtrack to your inner excursions. In this field "VLA" does what one expects it to do: it professionally calms down, immerses one in deep thoughts or sleep in a delicate way. It is a natural born chiller, although I have to underline that it does not have to be an advantage. The release is good as an addition to the intriguing "Twentythree" album and a counter-balance for many other, more dynamic and richer in sounds chillout novelties, when we need something extremely calm, although as far as ambient music is concerned CBL did better on their "Twentythree" album. 21. I don't think it's sad, it was just my take on certain phenomena taking place. I could not care less if this is a troll or a genuine person - it does not change the fact that the whole whole thing is very, very weak. Developing something like that does not automatically make a person an artist in my book - though I know we could take this discussion to another level here with examples of paintings depicting a few lines on the canvas or a dot in the middle, not to mention a bucket of paint smeared all over, and people behind them being called "artists". Bottom line: taking a dump in a toilet does not make me an artist just because I created something new. The "laughing" or "mocking" here, as you named it, was my take on the subject instead of calling all this utter crap (which I must admit it is). Patting such people / artists / albums etc on the back or head is just plain old spoiling the market, downgrading the real deal with poor releases, in a world where persons like Dali could emerge and become big starts in the psytrance community, while having nothing to show, except for very poor music and performance, not to mention the use of English (just read some posts or interviews by them to get the idea). Also it can create a false sense in them of them doing something great and of significant importance and then they get to know after a while that in fact it's crap, because someone was honest enough to tell them. People are free to mock something I do if they want to as long as it is done in a way where no statements like "your mother is a %$^%&" or stuff like that get in the way. Different people, different opinions - that's what always say. Am I to be worried, cry or sth? No way. I just continue to do my stuff, regardless. Regarding Elysium's quote in my previous post it was a typo on my part. It was supposed to be Elyzium, a side project of Koxvox. Plus you truly need to have your sense of humor back from holiday - at least the other people here do not suffer from sandusinvaginatis. Also, as you mentioned, you had your share of laughs too, so I don't think you are the person to try and judge anyone, including me. Why do you try to devoid me of that? Because you stopped, therefore anyone else should do the same (now that's what I call hypocrisy)? These are rhetorical quesions of course. Plus it's the first time I have written anything in connection to this fella, though I've been reading a lot about him on these pages for years. IMO.

The trip with otherworldly sounds created by Johannes Hedberg and Daniel Segerstad had started long time ago together with the advent of their debut album called "Hydroponic Garden". The artists wanted to create a purely ambient album for a long time. Finally they managed to fulfill their dream, which resulted in the "Twentythree" album. Until now Carbon Based Lifeforms have accustomed us to other kinds of tunes, more dynamic, very often laced with acidic atmosphere. While getting familiar with this album do not expect something you know from their previous albums. Here the Swedish wizards leave every sonic adornment and their typical sound behind and take up pure beatless core, achieving ambient apogee, made immortal by the likes of Biosphere. As one of their leading motifs on this album Johannes and Daniel introduce deep space shrouded in mysteries, where mankind tries to find even the scarcest answers, some significant singnal from infinite frontiers. It is pure ambient at its best, served in and elegant form and an elegant packing, which continues the tradition of Ultimae Records releases' new cover designs established by the "Origin #01" album by Solar Fields. Nice pastel colors presented on the cover contrast in an intriguing way with peculiar colors of space created by the sounds. Imagine that you can levitate freely and effortlessly without any kind of help from a special space-suit, or the necessity to breathe. Long and hypnotic portions of sounds, which dominate throughout the whole thing, emulate a free flight into the infinite cosmic abyss. Everything seduces and sucks further into the bottomless sonic pit like an invisible sprayed mist of pheromones. Along with the following chapters of this story we will find ourselves in Puerto Rico ("Arecibo" and the famous radio telescope), Russia ("Somewhere In Russia"), Socorro in New Mexico (the "VLA" track, the title of which stands for the Very Large Array radio astronomy observatory), or London ("Kensington Gardens"). Although the material presented here is far from the past CBL releases, one can still feel characteristic features of the Swedish artists' music, who try to convey their visions in an extremely tasteful way, building consistently a truly unearthly atmosphere. The album is great for soothing oneself, perfect for headphones. Delicate, floating ambient music will lull both the body and the mind to sleep, relax, enable deep reflections - whatever you want, guaranteed it is without any movement on your part. Just you and the sound. It is more than evident for me that not all people will like this release. They don't have to. Carbon Based Lifeforms recorded what they wanted and how they wanted and in my book they managed to perform this task flawlessly, thus scoring some extra points. Personally I prefer the vibe presented on "Hydroponic Garden", however they succeeded in catching my full attention with this album. It's beautiful, melancholic and deep in its own way. The album proves to be a great friend whenever I want everything around me to slow down and chillout, along with me in the centre of it. For some it might be just pure boredom, fortunately not all are destined for such shortsightedness and ignorance, because in these supposedly banal ambient tracks lies the power of their message and an interesting story, which is lead slowly but consistently. It is a beautiful backdrop of dreams and a cloak of space enchanted in sounds, just waiting for our presence and inviting us to explore it with every single piece of our minds. 23. Lemmiwinks: A little shameless self-promotion here , but after checking your YT links from the initial post I think you may find this one attractive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xtnd3Vvjayc IMO it's pure balls to the wall, without losing the edge. The track - along with the rest - is for grabbin' free from Ektoplazm: http://www.ektoplazm.com/2011/panta-deus
  24. Master Blasters - Life Changing Experiences "Another plus is the graphic part of the album, which is stunning. The digipack is enriched with a holographic foil, which makes up the title, giving a very good visual effect. It changes like a cameleon, bursting with rainbow colors. The devil is in the details."
