  1. I haven't listened to the music itself, but I feel like commenting on the situation strictly connected with it. If moderators find it off-topic or non-review-ish, please feel free to delete this post - but please try to think about the words written here. First of all, I'd like to salute to Trance2MoveU. Being a reivewer myself (Psytrance.pl) for over 10 years now I know it is a hard task. Conveying one's impressions and feelings regarding music is not always that easy as one could think. Moreover, "gluing" the reader to a review is ever more difficult. Trance2MoveU has his own specific style which I like, not to mention the time and stamina to provide reviews frequently. He managed to combine many elements (humor being among them) into one. Secondly, I find it disgusting when I read comments made by artists (sic) like: "Thanx for a very nice review, the only thing it gave me was that you by some reason dont like it...and thats a bad review." - it not a bad review, it's just the bad attitude you're presenting here Mr Artist "I got a question for u, when did you release anything, and where can i post about it. I will return the favour off course." - wow, now that is malicious. Acting like a true artist indeed... "Must be hard going around and beeing bitter all the time." - must be hard being so hurt by a bunch of gifs and letters. I could write or discuss about such bad attitude for hours without breaking a sweat, but it would a waste of time when it comes to stubborn people. Anyhow, I can sum it up in one sentence: If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen. For me an artist, when releasing something to the world, be it a music piece, a painting, a movie or whatever, subjects himself immediately to the whole world, full of different people and different opinions. Some people can like it, some people won't. Here Trance2MoveU was in the second group and he - as well as anyone else - should be respeced for having his own damn opinion (and I repeat: HIS OWN opinion), not bashed for it. The situation I stumbled upon here (and it's not the first time I read such things from artists) is the proof that an artist does not deserve to be called an artist, as he proves himself to be weak in the eyes of others by making remarks such as the ones I pointed out above. An artists should be able to take both good and bad words about his creations. We have a saying that "good music will defend itself" - no matter what (some) people might think about it. If one review got you so hurt and made you write such immature things - then it must be weak. Moreover, showing such attitude is a perfect advertisement for an act - it just screams "pathetic". I respect artists who are over such things and can say: "thank you for the review, even though you didn't like it so much, I/we hope you'll like something else from our current/upcoming discography / we hope we'll do better next time to gain your support". The rest - well, they are and should be treated like cry-babies, not creative people with guts to handle something. If you're wise - don't bother replying, just ponder deeply on the words above. However, if you dive into a fruitless discussion - just wait for the people here and finally mods to eat you up. End of story.
  2. Master Blasters - Life Changing Experiences Nano Records, 2011 1. Overtones 2. Initiation 3. Funk Junky 4. Snowjob 5. Interconnected 6. Space Racer 7. Can U Dig It? 8. Shake 'Em 9. Revelation If there is anyone saying that full-on is dead - think again. Surely this kind of psychedelic trance can sometimes reach very strange, very often cheesy territories and give reasons to complain, but here is the proof that it can be pleasing and devoted of garbage, while keeping its essence and vigor. I found myself interested in Blasters years back after hearing many collaborations of DJ Pogo (Jamie Patterson), 1/2 of this project, with many established names in the psychedelic trance genre, which took place along with the release of his own compilations: "Wingmakers" (Dragonfly Records, 2004) and "Wingmakers - Beyondwards And Upwards" (Nano Records, 2008). The second one featured his debut with Zephirus Kane as Master Blasters. Finally they delivered their own full album. It is also a kind of a historical release of this label, as it was recently announced that the following releases by Nano Records will be released only in digital forms - thus with the advent of Master Blasters’ album we are saying goodbye to physical CDs. Summer is fully ongoing and the label decided to mark its existence at festival trancefloors and house-listeners' homes and speakers with a large portion of fat danceable and tranceable tunes. What makes his album so good to listen to? Most of all, it is good fun with a couple of brilliant tracks, all topped with a significant dose of that good-old British vibe. I am sure that you will have shivers while hearing the main sample in "Can U Dig It?", which in my opinion captures the essence of this CD. It makes both the legs and the mind dance like wild. There is no place for boredom or insignificant lalala. A blasting layout and rich sonic ornaments of the tracks make them a serious threat regarding body tiring at a dancefloor, as well as a weapon against our neighbors, because there were destined to play them loud. A serious flaw of the album is that the tracks suffer from the copy-paste syndrome, because the album, when played in one sitting, can give one the feeling of all tracks being one undistinguished mass. One could experience more variety with Master Blasters' single called "Blaster Pieces", where one of the tracks was made with Tristan who stamped his distinguishable style on it, making the menu more diverse. Fortunately it is not so bothering as in the case of a weak Laughing Buddha album released last year ("Sacred Technology"), though the album could sure use more variety as far as its tracks are concerned. A major disadvantage is also the fact that as much as 1/3 of the tracks were already released ("Interconnected" was featured on the aforementioned "Wingmakers - Beyondwards And Upwards" compilation, while "Snow Job" and "Can U Dig It?" were available at last year's single "Blaster Pieces"). Is it so hard to come up with a totally new material? I don't think so. Still, I am willing to forgive many things to such an effective and spectacular album. I am sure that it delivers in all conditions, whether it is a trance festival, a club party, home listening or driving in a car with a tight soundtrack on board. Another plus is the graphic part of the album, which is stunning. The digipack is enriched with a holographic foil, which makes up the title, giving a very good visual effect. It changes like a cameleon, bursting with rainbow colors. The devil is in the details. "Life Changing Experiences" is a light, extremely cool and energy-loaded album. I would even say that it is one of the most energizing British psytrance releases which saw light in the recent years. When it comes to dancefloor madness at psytrance parties, the material presented here is flawless. It is a shame though that Patterson and Kane did not raise the bar higher. Still, they showed that one can created a piece of fine meaty psytrance without reaching for cheese. Maybe it was not a life changing experience and the album is not as good as I expected it to be, nevertheless it is very good. A fine blast indeed. 4. It's nice to see Remote Access releasing his tracks after years of silence. Go Simon! Good that you managed to bring his output back "from the dead", Wizack.
  5. Here's what some people had to say about this album: Astrix: Awesome album. Already made 10 remixes to each track. Avi / Astral Projection: Cool stuff. Nhjo Hyennro is making a remix for our "Open Society" track to be released on a 100th single before our next album (no date yet). Elysium: I don't like this full-on bassline. IMO. It's my opinion. Simon Posford: I'd like to work with him in my next indie-band. Ott: This could sure used my "in dub" treatment. Utterly brilliant nonetheless. Colin OOOD: I envy his mastering skillz. Skazi: Killargh! Eskimo: This guy could easily be my successor. Goa Gil: Been spinning his tracks already for 3 days without breaking a sweat. Raja Ram: Inexpressible. Mindbogggling. Shponglizing. Michele Adamson: lalalalalaaaaa <fades into couching> Anoebis / Suntrip Records: A safe bet for our next 5 goa trance compilations. Aes Dana: We've postponed our next H.U.V.A. Network and Asura albums just to release this guy first. Hyennroric music for Hyennroric people. Chicago: Come on now! Let's all take some Nhjo Hyennro!!! Dali: I'd like to offer myself to him on a next psy-festival. Psykovsky: This is the downtempo side to my music. Damion / Psyreviews: Brought me back from the dead. DeatPhosture: +1. Plus made me write a 100-pages review. Trance2MoveU: At first this CD was like then I was like
  6. This music makes "Twisted" sound like utter crap. Great for deep mystic excursions into one's own soul and anal sex after taking LSD.
  7. +1 on the comment above. Too bad that some of the tracks have been released for some time now. Oh well, nobody's perfect. I'm still going to enjoy this very much. Btw. this is also a kind of a historical release - as I recall Nano stated some time ago that the label is going fully digital after this release.
  8. technossomy (and other people interested) - you might wanna check our Psytrance.pl's 10th anniversary double VA called "Panta Deus", featuring two tracks by Artha: http://www.ektoplazm.com/2011/panta-deus Artha - Antistatic Circle Artha - From Life to Life The second one is my favourite Artha track right after his epic "Controlled".
  9. If anyone is hungry for more of those Artha goodies, Michał comes back to Ektoplazm with two tracks called "Antistatic Circle" and "From Life To Life" which you can grab for free here: http://www.ektoplazm.com/2011/panta-deus The first one is a goastic frenzy, while the second one has been called "a response to Hallucinogen's Jiggle Of The Sphinhx" by a friend of mine.
  10. Aural Planet are (were) very good. Brilliant music from the very start, whether it's goa trance (their beginning), and later chillout/downtempo music. In time the project and the group morphed into Sundial and later Sundial Aeon. You can find my reviews of their Sundial/Sundial Aeon albums here in the review section. Soon a new Sundial Aeon albums called "Mimesis" will be released. You can find a teaser of it here (a track called "Hanuebu", taken from the upcoming album): http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?/topic/62061-panta-deus/page__pid__982295#entry982295

It was compiled by Templar, one of the website's creators and editors, as a gift to all the visitors and a confirmation of the old saying "It's good because it's Polish". As far as the musical contents is concerned, the compilation was prepared as a sort of psytrance party and is separated into two themed parts: Carpe Noctem and Carpe Diem, both of which are represented by the music they contain. You will hear colourful sounds belonging to the diverse genre of psychedelic trance, as well as chillout tracks. Their authors are both well known and experienced, as well as new, promising artists. Just-Mike a.k.a. Space Element (Psytrance.pl/Mystic Arts Event) is responsible for mastering, the graphic design was done by Andrzej Beręsewicz (http://www.beresewicz.pl). 14. Sundial Aeon - Mimesis Work on the new album, Sundial Aeon is slowly coming to an end, we do not hide that our main inspiration in creating the material for the upcoming album Mimesis is RIESE secret military complex, located near Waldenburg (now Wałbrzych / Poland) in Eulengebirge (now Góry Sowie), underground Fürstenstein (now Zamek Ksiaz) and a whole bunch of unexplained details, legends, myths and conjectures related to issues of RIESE . The album is dedicated to all those who were murdered in the construction of the complex RIESE, particularly prisoners of the concentration camp of Gross-Rosen and others, scientists and enthusiasts who are constantly working to transfer their passion and knowledge to others ... www.sundial.pl

  16. Lucas Presents Tales Of Heads TIP Records 2010 1. Eat Static & Lucas – Troglodyte 2. Dickster & Lucas – Dirty Tackle 3. Laughing Buddha & Lucas – Mind Cockpit 4. Avalon & Lucas – Stinkin' Warehouse 5. Tristan & Lucas – Magic Umbra 6. Lucas – Hooked On Machines 7. Aphid Moon & Lucas – Hat Trick 8. Raja Ram & Lucas – All In The Mind 9. Prometheus & Lucas – Far From Home Info: Lucas really hits form on this album and has become the sound of now! With a direct link to the original Tip Records vibe, Lucas has worked with a Who´s Who of the best in the UK´s Deep, Full On, Psy Tech Trance scene. As one of the best DJ´s on the circuit, he has carved out a very good niche and has become an important dynamic of Tip Records. As Raja Ram´s right hand man and resident Tip DJ he has been gigging all over the world on numerous tours with a fanbase growing by the week. On this, his second album, he follows up the successful God Save the Machine perfectly. Hiiglights are hard as all tracks have something to say. Here at Tip HQ our personal favourites are the ones he wrote with Prometheus and Eat Static perhaps. But the solo effort, or ones made with Raja Ram, Tristan, Laughing Buddha or Aphid Moon could all vie for your favourite. Then there are the Avalon and Dickster collaborations which are both outstanding. What more to say... “the message is in the music!” Check it out! 17. The cover is so damn ugly that it is a slap to the face. As it goes for me, I'd refrain from posting this one.

  20. Artha - Influencing Dreams Cronomi Records, 2010 1. Dubber Nubber 2. Controlled (Live Version) 3. Chaos 4. Saikol 5. Mystic Change 6. Vocal Distortion 7. Bali 8. Transfusion 9. Insidelamp Finally it happened. Well, it had to happen. After years of expectations from the moment when I first heard the track called "Controlled", the debut album of Artha finally found its way onto my shelf and into my CD-player. The only album I awaited more eagerly was probably the third Hallucinogen's album, which is the equivalent of "Duke Nukem Forever" or "Lethal Weapon 4". Artha, undeniably one of the cornerstones of Polish psytrance, it's not just some random guy, so Cronomi Records made an exceptionally good move by deciding to add him to the team. Artha had a difficult task, because everything below a very good album would be a disappointment, but after taking his talent into consideration, disappointment was not an option. As one might expect, Michał's debut album throws a good punch to the face and shouts: "Hey, psytrance is not dead yet - it’s alive & kicking!" We are introduced with the world of Artha's music by a more laid-back "Nubber Dubber," where people not familiar with the sound of his music can leave their jaws on the floor, while the old timers will feel at home. Although the track lasts less than seven minutes, Artha managed to do wonders and surprises with frequent changes of themes. An excellent example of easiness in manipulating with psytrance may be the moment before the fourth minute, which due to the change of time signature reminded me of " Hallucinogen - Horrorgram". Pretty soon I got to enjoy one of the greatest treats on the disc - the epic "Controlled" is the first Artha track I have ever heard. Here we received it in a live version, so I was very curious how he attempted to present this classic, which like most other classic is best to be labeled with "do not touch." It is always easy to fuck it up, but who will do a better remix of such a track, if not its creator himself? It turned out that the metamorphosis exceeded my expectations, though obviously I still prefer the original version. Fans of the original will find here all the elements which they have enjoyed years ago, but delivered in a fast and modern re-do. In time the track surprises with a morph into heavy Shpongle-like vibes, which only whets the appetite for slower productions under the Artha moniker. Of course, this peaceful moment of the track just tranquilized the listener in a great way, because after a while the tune is back on track and its power returns with double force. "Chaos" from its first moments rises to the rank of one of the best tracks on the album. After an interesting introduction with an obligatory pinch of posfordisms it develops in a right way, pushing pedal to the medal. Artha did not fail in creating an interesting background full of different sonic surprises to measure his biggest inspiration, namely Hallucinogen. Particularly noteworthy is the extremely crafty ending of the track, which underlines the talent of Michał. One can experience a multitude of goose-bumps with the advent of "Saikol". The level of its acidity makes the track go hand in hand with tunes by Green Nuns Of The Revolution, who were not cutting on those beloved TB-303 sounds. "Mystic Change" pours honey over the hearts of oldschool fans, where they will be treated many times with large portions of sonic tricks from years back, among which one can find the ever-popular acidic spikes. Moreover, the sounds which appear before the fourth minute add incredible quasi-oriental aesthetics to the whole thing. No less acidic is the "Vocal Distortion" track, which at times resembles heavily Infected Mushroom tracks from the times of "The Gathering", with the comparison being a complement. The mega-optimistic "Bali" track is another bright spot on the album, where Artha skillfully applies theme changes. Due to its party-vibe qualities, the track should quickly find its place in many DJ sets. "Transfusion" injects some interesting sounds into the speakers in the form of a rather ominous introduction, to continue by unleashing acidic fantasy and releasing melodies which remind of old PC adventure games. "Insidelamp" is the last track on the album and also a summary of everything that happened in a neat and more calm package, made with a similar pedantry as the previous tracks. Overall it is an acidic, trance variation on the style in the vein of the Arabian nights. One can hear that Artha feels also very comfortable with creating slower trance tracks, as it is with faster psy-killers. After the track ends one can feel an irritating craving for more, but that is just the way it is with all good things. One can listen to the album from start to finish, without a moment's boredom. All tracks, without any exceptions, are well arranged, with Michał confronting in all of them various themes and moods, which melt and join in one point, thus creating an interesting whole. Just like Filteria is compared to Pleiadians and Talpa to Infected Mushroom (the old Infected Mushroom of course), Artha can be safely compared to Hallucinogen. Still, I would like to mention that these are just musical references and inspirations, not copying of the great ones, because they all developed their own style. Michał combined the old and new sounds in such a skillful way that he got rid of time borders in his music, owing to which it will still be up-to-date in the following years to come. It does not matter whether somebody is an old timer of the music, having listened to Dragonfly Records and Transient Records output with flushed cheeks years ago, or has been a trance listener for only a few days, the listening experience will be similar. The album is a perfect remedy for those who are angry on Simon Posford for the fact that instead of sweating in the studio and recording amazing psytrance bombs he comes up every now and then with chillout-experimental-rockish ballads under Shpongle and Younger Brother guises. The album is also living proof that this genre of electronic music still delivers. Because of the album's quite oldschool overtones, "Influencing Dreams" also embarrasses the majority of many goa trance releases which have been popping out for some time lately, which, lets be honest, not only are homogenous and repetitive, but also started again to deplete of ideas. I will add that although one can find here bold connections to goa trance, Artha has been above this label years ago - and rightly so. One thing is certain: the creator of this album will surprise us with other great releases. It is advised to find answers to what or where is psychedelic trance here. Remember about this album when choosing the best releases this year.
