  2. Waiting for a new Astral Projection album is like crying over a pet dog that died in 1999. Artha delayed? Oh well... Patience is virtue.
  3. It's out: http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/ncr/ncr1cd003.html ps. the original version of "Psy Cut Fingers - Bombay FX" is available here: http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/ddc/ddc1cd020.html
  4. Ok, I get it now. btw. Affectionate Asshole - kewl track name.
  5. What crawled up your butt and died, kind sir? Yes, the whole thing was an April Fools joke. Part of the promo text for "Trinity" was taken from the "raja-ram-style" text from Simon's Myspace profile. The rest was made up by me. Still: - one can listen to "Strangled Cat" on Simon's MySpace profile - there are samples of a new Younger Brother album called "Vaccine" at Twisted's website - "Gamma Goblins Part 3" (a name I adopted for the track) exists, as I've heard it several times during Hallucinogen's live acts and while watching YouTube movies from his gigs; it's even more sick than the second part from "The Lone Deranger" :-) Cheers :-)
  6. http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?/topic/58549-hallucinogen-trinity/page__pid__956517__st__0entry956517 The master is back with "Trinity" album! Nuff said.
  7. Hallucinogen - Trinity Twisted Records, 2010 1. Tobleroned 2. Strangled Cat (Remix) 3. Fractal Sushi 4. Crap Circles 5. Gamma Goblins Part III 6. Surreality Show 7. Mona Lizard 8. The Notion Of Motion 9. At Least At Last Track 6: Hallucinogen & Dickster Track 9: Hallucinogen & Michele Adamson, additional programming by Prometheus More psychedelic pancakes for everyone, mates! Brand new Hallucinogen is here to smash into bits and pieces every psyche and trancefloor around the globe and farther. It's been more than a decade since the last longplay by Simon Posford under the Hallucinogen moniker. The psychedelic maestro has been very busy with his Shpongle and Younger Brother gigs, but now he has grown hungry again for some more 4/4 mindbending psy-music. Lose your mind, find the essence and source of all wonderment... Pop out in a wormhole in hyperspace... Feel the cosmic machinery ticking and churning, melting the cortex into the vortex. Due to release at the end of the year. Be prepared. 9. I guess the mastering is ready? Bring on the CD, damn it! I've been waiting a long time for this album to be finally released since "Controlled" caught my attention years ago. The track itself is something I could compare to Hallucinogen's "LSD" - of course not musically, because we are talking about two different tracks, but regarding their significance to the respective authors' discographies. It's great that it will appear in a modern version on this CD. I already had the opportunity to hear 6 out of 9 tracks presented here through years and I can tell everyone that this is what the doctor ordered. The final touch by Colin will also do them good. Without any doubt Artha is one talented guy, delivering something that only a few can - good PSYTRANCE music. As the father of the album's title I'm proud to be a small part of this gem. :-) Surely one of the most essential releases this year.

  15. Artha - Fluori Dolby EP Cronomi Records, 2010 1. Signs 2. Astral Body 3. DNA 4. Sannjasin (Remix) To make the awaiting for Artha's debut album entitled "Influencing Dreams" easier and also to promote our countryman, Cronomi Records released a free teaser single containing four tracks by Michał. One can find here one of his most recent tracks called "Signs", two older tracks which were given a modern makeover and a remix of "Sannjasin", which was released in its original form on the "People Can Walk" compilation. As with other publications of the label, the person responsible for the single's mastering was Colin Bennun from OOOD. The cover was created by another countryman, Insidelamp from Gdynia (northern Poland). This single is almost 40 minutes of music, most of which belong to two fat tracks called "DNA" and "Sannjasin (Remix)", both being 11 minutes long. The single begins with "Signs" and already here one can hear Artha's extraordinary talent. The hallucinogenic introduction leads us to an amazing, intense world of kaleidoscopic themes. With its goa-backbone and verve "Astral Body" is a proof of how much one can change a seemingly old track from a couple of years ago. Tons of various alterations and additions have changed it beyond recognition, owing to which we received an intense, acidic goa-torpedo of the highest class. Next we have another classic track by Artha, namely "DNA", which very few people know from its former working name "Subtle Energies". Compared with the original version, this one also lived to see the modern tuning, although perhaps not as obvious as in the previous case. Here and there one can hear the Far East-stylized accents, made in the style typical of Artha. The last track is an altered version of a tune which was originally published on Cronomi Records some time ago. After hearing "Sannjasin (Remix)" all fans of Simon Posford, including such a die-hard fanboy like me, can stop waiting for the third Hallucinogen psytrance album. The track just oozes with layers of thick awesomeness and incredible psychedelia. Brilliant composition of all the elements of this work, with careful emphasis on the original motifs, resulted in a shocking effect. This nearly 11-minute long, chameleon-like shapeshifer of a track fully satisfies any hunger connected with the lack of Simon Posford's music and shows that the real psychedelic trance is still alive and kicking, though in recent times it is a thing which is hard to find. It was not the first time when Michael has proved effortlessly how much does music from many other artists suck in comparison to his output. The tracks shine with incredible power. One can hear bold references to goa-roots, however Artha does not plunge into them too deep to be labelled in this style, as the basis for them is pure psytrance. The multithreaded approach to creating tracks is only for their best, owing to which there is a lot happening in them, so virtually there is no time for boredom. The whole thing is so great that one cannot dislike it. If it is the other way round - well, I can only symphatize deeply. Ladies and gentlemen - just wait until the album arrives! 23. Kino Oko - Alphabetically Divided Highway Tribal Vision Records, 2008 1. Any Kind Of Structure 2. Made In Satisfaction 3. Body And Mind 4. Mother Mature 5. Symphatetic Magic Death 6. Story Of Forgotten Notes 7. Stand By Me 8. Pure Irony 9. Remedy Express 10. Messiah Formula 11. Through The Round Window Around the world, endless masses of people wallow and pat each others' backs in their own boring and conservative mud. A person with an open mind always manages to find more interesting things to do. Some time ago, Grzegorz Magnuszewski stood beside himself, took a look at the past and present from the outside, evaluated his ideas, feelings and emotions, and then suggested a future. This suggestion materialized in the form of yet another album with an intriguing title, "Alphabetically Divided Highway", explained in detail (along with many other things) by Magnes in the included booklet / poster. Information about an upcoming Kino Oko album appeared quite unexpectedly. The Tribal Vision Records label, which took up the task of publishing the album, was also a surprise. Changes included not only the name of the album (the initial working title was "Renaissance"), but also a changeover from Horns & Hoofs Entertainment to a different publishing house. Of course the most important changes concerned what is most important to us - the music. Music that turned out to be different from what we have been used to so far, but at the same time similar, for it is full of ideas and attractive, possibly calculated in such a way as to shove a musical stick in the anthill that is the stiff and unyielding environment of creators and consumers. The CD is made up of 11 tracks from the creative world of Kino Oko. "Any Kind Of Structure" is a fusion of pleasant downtempo and rougher, minimal sounds, giving birth to the sound equivalent of cool ice cream (your favourite flavour, of course) with warm chocolate sauce. In "Made in Satisfaction" Magnes winks at the listener by decorating the piece with lyrics referencing the title. "Body And Mind" offers a livelier dynamic, vibrating and winding sounds, all of this held together by the lyrics, once again reminding us about the title. The initially lazy "Mother Mature" track gives us colourful melodies we can hum along to, a pleasant groove and teasing effects. These types of pieces always make us feel better. "Sympathetic Magic Death" is definitely one of my top two on this CD. Its main advantage is the tornado of intense sounds and frivolous piano, skillfully mixed with electronics, that will blow you away. It is addictive as hell. I dare you to find another creation like this. "Story Of Forgotten Notes" is another unique, in its own strange way, creature, which, like its brothers, leaves the land of pigeonholing far behind and gives us a moment of musical meditation. Some of the more trance-y tracks include the cheerful, acidy "Stand By Me", and "Pure Irony", full of silly tomfoolery. "Remedy Express" is another good excuse for your jaw lying on the floor. "Messiah Formula" (brilliant title) is the other of my top two on this album. Its undeniable, massive emotional charge, as well as the uplifting, slightly ballad-like climate and deceptively banal vocals make it hard to forget. No offense to the other tracks, but "Messiah Formula" itself can be the one reason to get acquainted with this CD. The last track, "Through The Round Window" is charged with sadness and sonic poetry and adds yet more essence to the album's value. Before I wind up, I would like to mention something I found on the Discogs, which concerns the album I have just described. The style section of the album states: "Psy-Trance, Freestyle, Disco, Techno, Progressive Trance, Minimal" and the tempo of successive tracks is, I quote again, "133, 126, 136, 135, 140, 120, 132, 137, 133, 130, 120". As far as that detailed classification of styles is concerned, you will surely find way more than that on the album. As for the BPM, well, I have not checked, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt. Either way, both cases show that we are not dealing with a one-dimensional CD with just one specific tag, where all tracks are a steady 145 BPM and each one sounds like a cheap remix of the preceding one, leaving us with much to be desired. There are no two same tracks on the album and everything is captivating, throwing new sounds and solutions at the listener at every corner. Tracks like "Sympathetic Magic Death" or "Messiah Formula" have etched their form into my memory forever. The material burned into Kino Oko's second production is definitely not run of the mill. Grzesiek jumped off the bandwagon a long time ago and left behind people who beat music's proverbial dead horse, using the same motives over and over again (I am looking at you, Israeli full-on!). What is so special about this music that it is so attractive? Maybe the fact that there is not much competition for Kino Oko in the "difficult to classify" aisle. Or maybe the fact that it has got that "special something"? Or maybe… "Alphabetically Divided Highway" is an album for those who are sick and tired of bland, mass-produced music. The ever increasing repetitiveness of music and the lack of ideas for it show that what we need right now is a blast of fresh air. One that will throw us onto the highway of Magnes and others like him, where it is not the name, the loudness or dance-floor statistics that count, but the music. www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/tvr/tvr1cd020.html
