  1. Does anyone out there have the "Time Slices/Perceptor" EP they would like to sell me? This is out of print to my knowledge - if anyone knows of a place to buy it in CD format I'd be thrilled... If something isn't in print anymore is it okay to make copies? It's not like making copies would hurt sales or anything right?
  2. Just got this track off an obscure comil from 2004 - one of the maddest and most wonderful pieces of psytrance I've heard... The second half of this track is a brilliant melodic tour de force - soaring, twisted, orgasmic psytrance... This track can be downloaded from the link below - enjoy! http://www.trackitdown.net/search.php?sear...hValue=hux+flux
  3. This is a fantastic compil - I didn't really like "Quality Relaxation" but this one here is amazing... The best chill compil I've heard since "Natural Born Chillers" on Aleph Zero, and I may end up liking this one even better... Seriously, this is a treat - these tracks are VERY engaging - lots of melody and layers - this isn't "yawnbient" like Ultimae release (although yawnbient has it's place too)... First class psychedelia...
  4. I love "Stretched" and "Bombat"... Some of the other tracks are pretty good too... Don't like the singing though... "Converting Vegetarians" really grew on me - loved the experimental side right away, but after awhile came to love the trance side... Are Infected Mushroom still together? I'm kinda hoping the long delay between the last album means they're gonn atake their time and make a great one...
  5. Gabriel Le Mar is one half of Saafi Brothers I think... Anyhow this is a very nice little downtempo album - generally melodic and elegant synth lines done in a catchy way, often very emotional... This is more in the direction of "straight" downtempo along the Ultimae lines than the "hippy" style stuff ala Entheogenic or Shpongle... I'm terrible at writing reviews quite frankly, but I think people should check this out anyway.. Listen to some samples... I found out about this album at a psytrance party - I was hanging out in the chill tent when this absolutely incredible track came on - I asked the DJ who it was and he said "Gabriel Le Mar, Reel Time - he's the best!", so I bought it... I think it was either track 1 or track 6 that I heard there at that party, but it's hard to say because of the soundsystem and hallucinogens involved at the time... Anyhow track 1, and tracks 6-11 are my favorites... I've had this album as my wake-up CD alarm for about a month now...
  6. Thanks Deathposture! I'm new to the whole MP3 thing in general, so did some research on MP3 there at Wikipedia too... Do I understand then that if I download an MP3 at 320kb and record it onto a CDr, that it will be indistinguishable from the original CD? I downloaded some tracks at 320 and they sound very good, though it seems they could be clearer - but I may just be imagining it (and I'd never heard these tracks before...)
  7. I have to say this is one of my least favorite albums ever - aggressive fullon with few melodies, sound effects, and crowded soundstage - totally don't get the hype...
  8. Thanks for the direction! What is a "WAV" file though, and how is it different from MP3?
  9. I think it was on the "Sticky Sheets" label, but I could be mistaken...
  10. I just found out Hux Flux has a few more released tracks than I had realized - on compilations mostly... Is there a way to download individual tracks in general? I've never really downloaded anything and generally would like to support the artists...
  11. I just listened to Hux Flux - "Equivelent Equations" 4:00 sample on Saikosounds and was blown away... Hux Flux - "Degauss" is maybe the most impressive track I've heard though, in general... Hallucinogen "Deranger" and Pleiadians "Alycone" are right up there too...
  12. I don't understand why there should even be a "Finnish" sound - that means the Finnish people producing the music are all conforming to what their peers like/produce instead of creating something original...
  13. Just a short review here.... This album is somewhere in the neighborhood of breakbeat psy-downtempo... A mix of styles really, some of veering toward full psytrance style... I love a couple of the tracks - 3 and 11 are fantastic - beautiful sounds and melodies, great styel... Much of this album though feels thrown together poorly or forced, and breakbeats in general sound discordant to me... Some of it it just simply unpleasant to me - too jarring, rough sounding... Tracks are very complex and full of sounds - it may be that I just haven't "gotten" this album properly yet - although I've listened to it several times... Anyone else have an opinion?
  14. Right on, thanks! That psyreviews guy cracks me up - he sure knows how to pan something!
  15. You're right about that part from 27-36:00 too Jon Cocco - damn I miss hearing melodies!
  16. Which is playing between about 18:00 and 25:00 or so? Fantastic stuff...
  17. Hhhmm ok I suppose there are just people who buy random stuff... There is a psytrance scene though here in the USA, no doubt - I live in California (near LA) and go to psytrance parties periodically - most the people at these parties though just seem to be there for the scene in general - rarely do I talk to someone who recognizes the artists playing.... Has Sandman gone down the tubes or something?! His last release under the Sandman name was "Psychotoones" right? IMO "Psychotoones" is one of the best psytrance albums ever - it's in my top 5 anyway.... His "Greenhouse Effect" side project was pretty decent oo, but not outstanding...
  18. Right on, I agree - please forgive my USA citizenship too - I was just born here I just don't get it though - I read the Psyreviews review on the new Skazi album - and he says Skazi is the biggest star our scene has known - who is buying Skazi albums if everyone thinks it's terrible music? I've never read a review of someone who said they liked a Skazi album... Who buys Skazi music anyway? Is it the people on Isratrance? Are they to blame? People in the USA don't know Skazi - Skazi sure isn't mainstream stuff here - people know Okenfold, Digweed, various Dj's...
  19. How much $ do psytrance producers make for an album anyway? When people say these artists are "selling out" by releasing "full-on" psytrance - who is actually buying these releases? Is there some huge market for subpar psytrance? Does anyone who's not a psytrance fan know who the Pleiadians are anyhow? I thought the mainstream people listen to club trance like Sasha or Okenfold etc... Forgive me if these questions seem silly, but I live in the USA - noone buys or listens to psytrance here anyway...
  20. Psysex - Hardcore Blastoff ! I know it's a few years old but it's fantastic...
  21. Hi all, We have a reviews section here, and isratrance has one, and www.psyreviews.com has reviews... Where else posts reviews? Where do you look when you want to find out what's new and tasty?
  22. It's a shame, but seems like most psytrance artists get worse as they go on - I'm not optimistic about the new Pleiadians album... Why do psytrance artists follow the times anyway? Why would everyone want to produce a full-on album just because that's what's popular - you would think in this genre it'd be all about creating something original... I'd be most excited about a Hallucinogen 3 I think - Posford seems to still have it, can't imagine him putting something lame or generic out... I wonder which direction Infected Mushroom will go in? I'm encouraged that they've waited quite awhile to release another album...
  23. Ola Kemosabe!! You're right about that part of it - I really like many of the sound effects Derango uses, very trippy stuff - just wish it was put together in a more melodious way...
  24. Ok wait, that guy was there too - I have seen now Ian Ion's pic and he was the guy I'm thinking of - FrankE was kinda off to the side during the set... Oh man the stuff they were playing was terrible though...
