ETNICA Anniversary Release @ Etnicanet

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone!

To celebrate more than 10 years of ETNICA, we're preparing a special compilation to be released on ETNICANET Records soon. More details will follow. (a very, very pleasant surprise is in the works!)

We would like you to take part in this project by adding your own contribution:

1) Photographs of Etnica performances from around the world;

2) Old reviews or memorable comments that you have posted online in the past, or if any of you wish to prepare a text to summarise, through your knowledge and appreciation of the Etnica project, the past decade or so of Etnica's activity as musicians, organizers, and party animals.

We will choose the ones we like the most and publish them together with the finished compilation.

Please send your material to young@etnicanet.net (text) or djyoungkim@gmail.com (photo and artwork). Please write "Anniversary Compilation" on the subject line.

thanx Everyone in advance !!

-Young-

hello Klaxer & thanx for the pics.

The release is compiled by me, I've had this idea for a while now and

feel that 2006 is a good year to celebrate our label's main artist unit.

10 years have passed since Alien Protein, and 2006 also coincides with

Etnica's new album (coming soon @ Solstice Rec) and the new Pleiadians album (coming soon @ Harmonia Rec).

Who compiled this CD? ...and there will be old tracks from Etnica?

p.s.

Check p.m. ;)

Cool. I'll be quite looking forward to all those. I'm missing quite a bit of etnica's work.

Hello again Everybody,

The compilation is almost ready - so far, it exceeds my expectations.

The concept of my compilation is to re-define Etnica's old

hits through the artistic hands of some of today's finest musicians

of our genre.

As you may have feared, we won't be re-releasing the 90's Goa classics

or the unreleased DATs, however these remixes are imbued

with that psychedelic spirit we all love, yet permeated with modern engineering

standards.

The artists involved in this project:

Etnica.

Dick Trevor (Green Nuns / Tufaan / Jumanji etc).

Wizzy Noise.

Bamboo Forest.

Protoculture.

Rinkadink.

Aes Dana vs dj Nova.

On another note, I was expecting a little more input from YOU

(we have received some nice photos so far, but are eager for more

input from the aficionados) ... don't be shy !! ;)

I'll be back with more details soon.

Best regards to you all!!

just re-mastering old already heared stuff?

I rather skip this one then.

edit:

Just listening to this glorious 15 minutes clocking monster, Moonley Business

People went berzerk when Jesper (X-Scream @ psynews) played it at goaparty a while ago! Why won't you release gems like these? ^_^

Whyy? :(

Can't you see? The Etnica/Pleiadians brand is built on older material, that's what people want/hope to hear! So what better than unreleased killers from old days that are timeless and truly representive of an era?

To bad this sounds sucky. A surely NOT to buy release!

Same here!

This album smells like an astral projection "TEN" remixes release! What a shame Etnica hasn't followed the Transwave's idea of a "Best Of" with some rare or unreleased tracks inside for this anniversary! :(

Dear Young,

u said someday the following:"...The release is compiled by me, I've had this idea for a while now and

feel that 2006 is a good year to celebrate our label's main artist unit...."

Now u announced some artists that Etnicanet dont release stuff....What about the others?Compressor,Biotonic,PAN,Predators,Filteria,Species,Xerox&Illumination,Wrecked Machines,Droidlock,Strider,Prosper???Phase 1,2,3 & Explorer compilations have tracks of these artists and the new one nothing of them??I was expecting something like that from what u said or i am wrong in this....?New artists on old tracks rmx...Not artists that we are about to forget them or artists that are in every compilation...Some more underground artists!!I hope u understand me,do u??

Idd. I don't understand why we would fear good old remix's and unreleased with good mastering :).

And I don't see this as anniversary... :(

I really have put my hopes on Transwave...

Hello Stavros,

It's very simple:

I have chosen these artists because I feel they will

very appropriately remix the tracks I have assigned them (and as I have

said in my previous post - they are doing a fantastic job).

A few of them even chose their favourite Etnica track to remix.

It's a way of paying respect to Etnica's long career and celebrating it on

our label's release.

I don't understand why you assume that the artists you have mentioned

have been 'dropped' from our plans from future releases...

In your critique you have not mentioned Rinkadink (whose track appears on

our SA2002 Eclipse compilation), Bamboo Forest (who has appeared on our

first South African festival on Millennium Eve), Wizzy Noise

(appears on our Phase I compilation) - most of these artists have been involved

with us much before my compilation.

To Everyone,

Much respect for your interest in the old unreleased Etnica tracks - we do

have plans for those, as well as other old tracks from Etnica (and their other projects) - tracks that no one even knows exist. ;)

I did not mention them here because I do not feel this is

the thread to discuss this topic. It will all be announced in detail in due course.

So with a bit of patience and a bit of faith you will be treated with further

surprises.

As always we appreciate your honest critiques :)

Ciao!

Hello everyone!

In my opinion hearing great artists such as Dick Trevor, Wizzy Noise, Bamboo Forest remixing old etnica tracks would be killer! They surely were in the scene since a long time and know the old and new sound. Furthermore they start from some classic tracks and they would want to achieve a better result; surely not to ruin the originals!

I am curious and interested to hear how the result will be and you shouldn't be against before hearing something! How can you know it won't be interesting? You all know I adore the oldschool sound and that I love it above all but this idea seems nice and interesting! Thumbs up and let's wait to hear what will be :)!
