  1. Juno Reactor - Rotorblade, but I don't especially like the guitar part also Juno Reactor - Pistolero and Conquistador ! Electric Universe - Meteor Human Blue - Breaking Limits
  2. hi, I think something went wrong with your mixdown or mp3 conversion of Dreamtime
  3. Fantasy Passages I mentioned above, the first minutes are pure magic! Jean Michel Jarre - Waiting For Cousteau (might a bit tooo loooooooooong) Global Communication - 12:18 Pete Namlook & Bill Laswell - Blue Shift (this is how an alien mothership sounds!) right...that will be enough ear pudding
  4. some more favorites Tetsu Inoue - Ring of Power Lustmord - Metastatic Resonance Klaus Schulze - Bayreuth Return Jonn Serrie - Fantasy Passages Stars of the Lid - Music for Twin Peaks Episode #30 part 1 Brian Eno & Robert Fripp - Wind On Water + Evening Star Pete Namlook, Klaus Schulze & Bill Laswell - Obscured by Klaus part 6 enjoy
  5. Who cares about styles. It's all (danceable) electronic music with beats, usually 4/4 bassdrum as a basis. Some I like and a lot I don't like. But when I've had some beers, i like it all.
  6. track: Robert Rich - The Other Side of Twilight opinion: totally awesome
  7. STEVE ROACH - THE MAGNIFICENT VOID one of electronic music's finest hours, and the best work of pure electronic soundscape ambient ever an incredible electronic symphony that will take you to far edges of the universe, or the complete nothingness, or whatever your imagination comes up with once you're used to it (I hated it at first, it takes patience and lots of listening), you will realize it isn't really that dark or scary... you can just put it on and completely get lost in the vastness of the void... perfect for sleeping as well there's so much more going on than you'd think at first listen. analazy the first track and see how subtlely he plays with sounds and manipulates them... a work of infinite depths, of incredible beauty, of contrast between light and darkness, harmony and disharmony, the work of a genius ok, did I praise it enough already? (note: I really have to be in the mood for it to be able to enjoy this music. Best way is in bed with headphones)
  8. If you want to get hypnotized: Klaus Schulze - Der Lauf der Dinge According to the liner notes from the Historic Edition he made it when he just got the big Moog modular. I think it's just a test run. One simple sequence, some subtle changes and extremely powerful sound probably make it the most hypnotizing EM ever
  9. Yes Plateau is awesome. Subtle, deep and detailed... with great atmospheric sounds that all fit together so well. Instant ambience. One of my favorite ambient tracks.
  10. well if you want to sleep with ultra relaxing ambient, I suggest Jonn Serrie - And the stars go with you Brian Eno & Harold Budd - The Plateaux of Mirror Steve Roach - Structures from Silence
  11. Hallucinogen - Angelic Particles from about 5:20 - 6:40 Crazyness perfection. Gives me goosebumps everytime.
  12. It's not really one of my alltime favorites, but it's a great album anyhow. They have a unique style and put even the weirdest sounds to great use. Dead Skin Cells and Vertical Pig are my favorites.
  13. Future Sound of London vs The Orb Juno Reactor vs Ozric Tentacles
  14. best: Hallucinogen - Angelic Particles worst: Shpongle - Bejia Flor
  15. That album is probably very different from the one I mentioned I don't like his slow tribal stuff and I also don't like too much of his beatless soundscape-only music.
  16. trance or not Juno Reactor - High Energy Protons Juno Reactor - Laughing Gas Humate - Love Stimulation (PVD remix) AweX - Back on Plastic LSG - Fragile Felix - Don't you want me Dance 2 Trance - Power of American Natives Dual Mount - Power Raiders Jam & Spoon - Stella Public Energy - Three 'o Three
  17. The thing with a lot of ambient related to the psy scene is, that it tries too hard to be something ... it is like a 'forced' mix of too much different sounds, melodies, samples and effects and all kinds of meaningless details... but in the end, if you can see (or better: hear) through it, there's actually little musical substance. While the music by Roach mentioned, is like one smooth, organic, evolving flow of... greatness The repetitive, slowly evolving nature of the music let's you completely drift away. It only uses original sounds that actually fit together, created by the artists themselves.
  18. Steve Roach & Vir Unis - Blood Machine Vir Unis - Pulse N Atmo Vir Unis & Saul Stokes - Thermal Transfer These futuristic, highly rhythmic ambient albums blow away everything mentioned in this thread. Well, at least Blood Machine, which might be the best electronic album ever... to my taste anyway. Definately has a psychedelic touch. Might appeal to psy fans. Listen with headphones and lose your head. Awesome soundscapes. Awesome, original electronic rhythms. AMAZING production quality. this is just my opinion of course, and it is honest
  19. Well, it certainly has its moments. But it's less detailed and subtle than some previous work. The synthsounds are not really varied in sound character. Basslines a bit standard. Sometimes it gets a bit too bombastic for me. Conquistador I+II, Angels and Men are great. The Mona Lisa remix is a waste, the original is just longer and better.
  20. Hallucinogen - Angelic Particles.
  21. Well, there's some music which I found to be truly great only after dozens of listens! Mostly with ambient, for example Steve Roach - The Magnificent Void. That one took really long to get used to, to get into.. to see the 'bigger picture'. Your brain simply needs multiple listenings to discover structure in this music. You will discover new depths at every listen.... Only the few adventurous and patient listeners will eventually be able to listen to it in all its glory. Only they will realize it's not just an endless wave of dark synthnoises/tones/drones. I now find it one of the best electronic music albums of all time.
  22. Yes..... KS - Crystal Lake and TD - Rubycon Part 1 The best works of electronic music up to this day. Also check out Klaus Schulze - Moondawn (first track: Floating) and Klaus Schulze - X for heavier stuff.
