  1. Overload, the melody at 2:31 and 7:40 is sooooo cool... they should've repeated it more, like the entire track
  2. Because I changed my avatar I'll mention it one last time Steve Roach & Vir Unis - Blood Machine If you consider yourself a serious electronic music fan, do yourself a favor and check it out. Headphones. Loud volume. Lift off. Still loving it.
  3. Cosmic Baby - Liebe Humate - Love Stimulation (Lovemix) Universal state of mind - All because of you BT - Flaming June Nalin & Kane - Beachball Orbital - Halcyon & on & on Chicane - Saltwater Paul van Dyk - For an Angel York - On the beach Solid Sessions - Janeiro (P&K vocal mix) BBE - Flash Vincent De Moor - Magnetic Dune - Cant Stop Raving
  4. here's my answer: <----- Enjoy the ride.
  5. http://www.reactorleak.com/admin/upload/fi...20interview.mp3 here's an interview with ben watkins with samples from the matrix music as well he seems a sort of, you know, pretty much, you know, sort of... vague stoner sort of guy but nevermind the blablabla, the music rules
  6. AWEX - BACK ON PLASTIC this got me hooked to the 303 type of sounds it was before I discovered psytrance still a very cool track if you ask me
  7. Here are the last listenable music thingies I've made A happy chillout/downtempo track, I like the melody but think the drums could've been better: http://people.zeelandnet.nl/rverpl/Bahamut%20-%20Shine.mp3 A simple composition with a not too pleasant piano/string sound... but I kinda like it because it has a special dark feeling: http://people.zeelandnet.nl/rverpl/Bahamut%20-%20Endgame.mp3
  8. This topic makes me want to play FF7 again. I'm sure there are some secrets and items I've missed
  9. Nice lofi downtempo music, similar to Massive Attack. Nancy is my favorite of those 3 by far.
  10. I decided Steve Roach is my no.1 I don't like everything he did. But there's just no comparison to his best music. He is the master of ambient music PERIOD.
  11. I'm a regular at www.synthforum.nl For me it's the best music (making) forum on the internet, with all kinds of people, from amateurs to professionals representing all sorts of music. And if you have technical questions there's always someone who knows the answer. But....... I'm afraid it's all in Dutch I haven't found a good international forum on electronic music. There are so many forums that cover some stuff, but none of them are worthwhile to visit frequently... well maybe the kvraudio forums if you're a softsynth freak...
  12. There are a gazillion sites where you can have your own mp3 page but most of them require the listeners to register as well. I liked soundclick.com
  13. This album has really grown on me. I now think Giant is the only weak track. Mutant Message is awesome... Juno Reactor rocks!
  14. I tried to like it, but I find the music too boring and uninspired. Maybe I should give it another try.
  15. You can't make a spanish guitar by synthesis if that's what you mean. It will never really sound like a guitar, just like you can't make a good piano or any accoustic instrument. If you want to get close to natural sounding guitar playing, it would have to be done with samples... maybe some natural sounding effects could be accomplished by manipulating one sample... but the best way would be using multisamples.. which means that for every slight nuance in sound there would have to be a seperate sample. But that would be impossible to work with. Shpongle - Dorset Perception... it's simply real guitar playing. Just listen to the solo at 4:50... this part can't be done with any synth, rompler synth or sample set.. it's just prerecorded guitar playing.
  16. Here's the weirdest ambient track I've made. It's done on a roland xp-80 synth. http://people.zeelandnet.nl/rverpl/Attack.mp3
  17. Final Fantasy 4, 5, 6 (snes) and 7 (pc) are all equal favorites of mine. FF6 is the longest and most extensive, with the most characters, spells, side quests, secretcs etc... and also great music! This is the favorite of most old skool FF fans. With FF5 (translation) you can customize your characters the most with a cool job and abilities system. The story is a bit weaker because I don't remember it. But start with FF4 if you're interested in the old FF games. A classic no nonsense and fairly challenging FF game. btw nice track Moai
  18. Shpongle is a sample cds showcase. And that takes away some of the originality of the music, whatever you all say.
  19. Actually I meant Italo Disco. Happy synthmusic from the early 80ies with vocoders and stuff. It can be very cheezy and cool at the same time. It would be fun to mix this style with psytrance somehow.
  20. and what about pete namlook, biosphere, tetsu inoue, robert rich, lustmord, global communication, delerium/synaesthesia, michael stearns, vidna obmana, vir unis, ulrich schnauss, redshift etc. etc.
  21. don't worry, labelling music in all kinds of meaningless and totally subjective substyles is a common disease among many music listeners try to resist it, it is a pointless activity
  22. Juno Reactor and drone music?? Sounds interesting! It's amazing how varied their music is. It can't be compared to 'psy', especially the last 3 albums and the matrix music. They're a seperate category altogether and they have their own unique, evolving style.
  23. Klaus Schulze isn´t ´the´ pioneer... there isn´t such a thing. It´s hard to mention just a few, but I´ll try... There are many artists who made one or a couple of great ambient/chill/whatever albums that I like. But I don´t rate any of those higher than (only equal to) the best music by Klaus Schulze Pete Namlook Steve Roach And because they are the ones who have made so much music that I like (also quite a lot that I don´t like btw), they deserve to be mentioned first.
