  1. Various - Temple of chaos Khetzal - Rosin memories Khetzal´s album was wonderful, but I don´t think he reach up to that standard here. The track has no "hook", or something to make me remember it. It just flows on with nothing to make me amazed. I usually skip to the next track, which is: 6/10 K.O.B. - Lost belly (of civilization) This track is pure brain-stimulation for me. Actually it is´nt a track that makes me reach heaven, but it provides a healthy dose of serotonin. It´s strength is imo the repetitive feeling of the track. 8/10 Daimon - Codex Nice track. Sounds a bit too plastic sometimes, but that´s something I can live with. This is not my favourite here, but it is, as I said a nice track. 7/10 Moonweed & Shakta - Perfect invisibility Kind of too many twists and turns which makes my brain tired. Sometimes it´s just too much. I did´nt listen much to goa like 95-96 and i´m sure that Shakta has a sentimental value to alot of people here. Not for me though. Anyway, this track has it´s strengths, like the flow and playfulness and I seem to like it a little bit more each time I listen to it. 7/10 Merr0w - Citrus circus Oh my God!! What a track. Now I have to listen to his album "Born underwater" some more, cause this is fantastic! This guy really knows how to build and build a track with out it being boring a single time! The intro reminds me of the intro track of the last Radical distortions album. Then it just builds higher and higher until it reaches it´s climax and then it builds some more!! This guy really has talent (and confidence)! The melody work is briliant too. 10/10 Filteria - Illogical logic What´s up with that sample? I get more irritated each time I hear it. Without that sample I think this could have been a good track. Now it´s just stupid cause I can´t seem to focus on anything else but it. Anyway, if I try to focus - I don´t think this is the best Filteria track he has made. It´s just too much soetimes. It´s less memorable than alot of his other tracks, like the melodies in "Reflected" or "Birds lingua franca". Good track, but not great... 6/10 Crossing mind - Cyclone in your heart This is a grower. That melody starting from 2.45 seems to lay bubbling in my halfly-conscious mind long time after I listened to it the last time. 7/10 Nebula meltdown - Encrypted illusion If Merr0w´s track was the most hysterical track on this compilation, this is the track which is most focused. It has a clear direction and it will get there, kindly but firm moving all the obstacles on it´s way. Knowing that the track (or entity?) has the power and nothing has the power to stop it. Reminds me a bit of Ethereal´s "Moondawn" on "Opus iridium". Splendid! Excellent! 10/10 Overall this is a great compilation, which, sometimes is a bit too twisted for my taste. It´s worth every krona i´ve payed for it, and the K.O.B., Merr0w and Nebula meltdown tracks really are something special!
  2. I like this far more than most of the regular psy I hear these days. Sometimes it´s too much strange sounds and less great melodies. It´s definately not my favourite Goa/Psy album, but I think every track is constructed in a intelligent kind of way. I have a feeling it will grow on me... So far I like track 4, "Saikol" best. I don´t like either the cover or the track names btw. What´s up with that hairy guy? Who is he? Is he a cave-man? And why does he got all of them eyes on top of his head? I would have prefered some regular fractals!
  3. Nebula meltdown for president! I mean, fuck, that´s what I call epic!
  4. Out now on Saiko sounds. Just ordered my copy. Looking forward!

    V/A - Energy Waves

Various artists: Energy waves Some thoughts... Mindsphere - The awakening Sounds alot like the opening track on Opus iridium (the downbeat-CD). Mindsphere is one of my favourites and does´nt dissapoint here either. The track builds up slowly, like an organism on it´s own. I imagine a boat floating around at open sea in fine rain. Beautiful in a floating kind of way! Next time I really want an uptempo track though! Gimme! 8/10 Astrancer - Inhabitants of the sun (Gnostic theory) A typical Astrancer track , based from what i´ve heard earlier. Remember some of the sounds from his track on "Pyramidal trancendence". Sparkling! Builds and builds... I like the first half, but kind of loose interrest after a while, I mean it´s a great track, but could have had more personality like a great climax in the end and something to make me remember it more. 7/10 Khetzal - Indian attic (E-mantra´s tellurian remix) Two great artists in one song. Aaah! Floating, dreamy, aggressive, daring. E-mantra puts me in mind of Ethereal (even though Ethereal is´nt that aggressive) and I love it! The track is alot warmer than the tracks on his debut album. After a while i´m starting to wonder if this really is a remix or if he´s just taken the intro from khetzal, the bassline from his "Tellurgic waves"-track, added synths and made a new track! This is like the previous track in the sense that it does´nt have a killer climax, but in this guy´s music I don´t mind, because it´s interresting all the way through! 8/10 Somnesia vs. Pharaom - God´s tears I´ve grown to like the samples in this track, which I did´nt care for on the first listen. Thought it sounded childish. This is a mighty track! The title fits well with the content. Every time I listen to this track I wonder how much time they invested in making the last half of the track so f*ing psychedelic. I mean, i´m really flying through the last minutes! Rich of personality, rich of colours, rich of psychedelica. My favourite on this compilation! 9/10 Liquid flow - Reformation I thought of buying his debut album "Precence", but did´nt. I don´t like the building of this track, does´nt fit my taste plainly. Too agressive opening... I´ve heard various tracks from this guy on compilations, but have´nt fallen for them. I miss some organic sound or samples or something, beacause his tracks often sound "empty" in a way. If it would have been a lousy track, it would´nt have been on a Suntrip compilation and it has it´s good elements too (like the explosiveness in some parts of the track). Not my cup of tea though. 6/10 Astrancer - Athanaton Astrancer is´nt an artist who´s (from what I believe)intention is not to chock in any way. It´s not too much or too less in any way, not too light nor too heavy, just sparkles through the way. I like this more than his first track here, the melodies stick in my head easier! This is pure joy all the way through. Great work! 8/10 Antares - Eureka I can´t help to think about this guys age, I mean, 16-17 years old and making this complicated kind of music. Impressive! The building of the track is subtle with small details that you hardly even notice even though you can feel them. Suddenly I think the track is about to finish, but then it takes another turn. Unfortunately the energy of the track does´nt last all of the time, which really is a shame. Although, promising guy this Antares! 7/10 Ra - Time current (Silver remix) Well produced, subtle, I think faster than usual. I like Ra´s downtempo tracks better, but this is´nt bad either. I´ve discovered that I must be in the just the right mood when I listen to Ra, otherwise it sounds a little bit too divine. I love his/theirs last CD, but rarely listen to it of some reason i´m not quite sure of beacause I can´t really complain about anything. Or, maybe, do I dare to say lack of attitude..? 7/10 Space elves - Anjuna beach This is crazy! The sample is very funny and doofy, which I love, even though they overuse it a little. The melody work unfortunately is´nt as great as that. Silly, silly melody... When I saw that those four guys would make the last track on this compilation I thought it´s gonna be the bomb. Now i´m kind of dissapointed. Jumpy and poppy and doofy. It´s too "nice", and lacks more depth and seriousity. All in my humble opinion of course. When the last sample comes in I think that, "Now they´re gonna take this to the next level", but then it´s all over. Better luck next time! 6/10 Conclusion: This is not better than "Opus iridium", maybe not better than "Apsara", but certainly better than "Sundrops". This is a CD that I would recommend to anyone who likes spiritual, uplifting, positive, and subtle Goa. The cons of this album would be the lack of top notch tracks, when it follows a kind of rapid stream of beutiful, but still not THAT rememberable tracks. Well, I guess it´s gonne grow on me too, they usually do... Overall Suntrip never dissapoint me and it will be sooo interesting to listen to the dark compilation they´re gonna release later this year! This summer is gonna be great, relaxing in the sun or biking around in Stockholm, listening to "Energy waves" and looking at girls!

    V/A - Water

Voda... I can´t grow tired of that track. Simply amazing. Gotta have my daily dose now...
  7. Hell, there´s so much new Goa. Can´t afford it!!!
  8. Gaah. Too much compression. I don´t know if it´s the mastering or mixing. My ears hurt! Otherwise it´s good. Could have been perfect though. I´ve had much anticipations for this since I really like the Zymosis-project...
  9. Oh my god! Drooling... This will make my winter, spring and summer. There´s something about that Suntrip... And what a nice looking cover. Different, but still beautiful. And a dark suntrip-compilation... Can I get more positive? I think not.
  10. God jul allihopa! (Santa is from the north you know)

    E-mantra - Arcana

Think BIG, think E-mantra. S.H.I.T!!! This is so fucking great. This is what I´ve been waiting for since Talpas "The art of being non"! Spacey, dark, light, creative, imaginative, daring, emotional, sensitive, fuck it: you got a whole lot of EVERYTHING here! Just listened through it the first time and all are my favourites, but if I have to name one of them it must be the last one "Beyond the Boreas", mostly because of the warm bassline... I just CAN`T critizise anything about this. Keep em´coming Emmanuel. This is the future of Goa.

    E-mantra - Arcana

Ordered it yesterday. I have a feeling about this... Review will follow.
  13. My link A bit different I guess... I have actually only one - (unmastered, unmonitored)trance track there. Might sound awful on other speakers than mine, but I guess it´s the ideas that counts! Kristofer

    V/A - Fire

Thanks! Will listen as soon as I get home.

    V/A - Fire

This is not the best of the three Air/Water/Fire for me. It´s hard to decide a favourite though... I think it has fewer stand-out tracks than the earlier two ("Voda", "Voice of the universe" etc). The only two tracks I actually remember slightly and have wanted to hear again after some listenings is the Zymosis and the Ra tracks, with "Summer twilight" being my favorite. I love the positive-uptempo feel in that track, which I strongly miss in especially tracks like Aes Dana´s and UTH´s. Chillout music does´nt JUST have to be floating and deep, but needs some excitement, (melody) and/or personality put into the mix aswell. Colour! Something to make me remember it and wanna listen to it again and again... It´s definitely a solid album though and will be great as background music, without me having to stop reading my book because of a lot of standout (say hallelujah!) moments... All of these artists (well, UTH I don´t know about, since I have´nt heard anything from [him?] before)have the potential to make masterpieces though. I would for example love to hear Chronos make a new track like "Mayan artifact (twisted breaks mix)" or Aes Dana make a new "Summer lands", but I guess it´s not that easy being that perfect all the time... I will be following the upcoming Altar record´s releases with thrill and anticipation.
  16. Great album. Favorites: Murya - Gray daze (what a track!) Cell - Out of breath (Alex Sheffer is a genious). James Murray - Eleven (decades mix)(Loved his debut album. This is in the same spirit, very subtle and smooth). Arresting all the way through, although I prefer the second half (Murya and forward). A little bit dissatisfied with the Solar fields track, gets repetitive. It´s not a bad track, but I expected more since beautiful eposes like "Feelings" and "The road to nothingness" on his last album. I was really impressed there. Why are´nt there more magnificent labels like Ultimae in the chillout-genre!!?? Well, Altar and maybe Aleph zero, but still... I tend to love SOME tracks in this genre so much, but does´nt like most of it at all! Maybe i´m just too damn picky!

    Ott - Skylon

Word about everything! The queen of everything is top notch. Rarely listen to the whole album through though. Too much Dub. Reggae-rhythms is not made for me. (Emotions is a funny thing...)
  18. Nice one! This was just what I needed. Flows nice... Downloading another one now!
