So most popular soundcard as I see it are: • FireWire 1814 • FireWire 410 • FireWire Audiophile • FireWire Solo • Ozonic • Audiophile 192 • Audiophile 2496 • Delta 1010 • Delta 1010LT • Delta 66 • Delta 44 • Black Box • Ozone®* • Mobile Pre USB • Fast Track™ USB • Transit® • Marian Marc 4 midi And my choices are this: • Delta 1010LT • Audiophile 192 • Audiophile 2496. • Marian Marc 4 midi Till now I have 2 soundcards on board, some 5.1 channel Holywood or something shitty like that.. That was good for mixing and production when I tweaked my computer to its best performance.. But now when I bought synth I need MIDI IN/OUT PCI card.. So what do u think about choices I made, which is the best?? Will it serve me good?

Spiritual is this u making carnage on microKorg? Dont let your gf near micro.. As for atropa, yeah I didnt used knobs nor the Ion, but I can read what others are thinking.. And decide from sum of opinions.. I knew that it doesnt have knobs, but like u said most of them are there but I didnt bought it cause of the knobs, I will buy M-Audio Axiom in future to go with the Micron so there will be station for knobs, sliders and pads.. I even thinked about that Novation stuff without key, just knobs, sliders and faders.. Then when u combine that u got a powerfull tool, isnt it? For now I dont need knobs.. Atropa can x, y, z knobs be programed? I think they can and if they can what do u wont more? Only with, m2 and pitch yesterday I made some sounds that top class old school goa producers used in their songs back in old days.. I just couldnt belive it, it sounded almost exactly, just a little more tweaking and voila..

Alesis Micron IS analog modeling keyboard and HAS MUCH WARMER, TRUER ANALOG SOUND than microKORG Yesterday I played with it and I tried to get some old school goa sounds, and I tell u, they were almost identical with the sound I wanted, just needs a little more tweeking.. ANOTHER GREAT REVIEW HERE I qouote from one review: "There are filters galore on offer here, 20 different types in all, many are nearly exact replicas of filters from Moog, ARP, Oberheim, and Roland. I've owned both and aside from the more intelligible vocoder in the microKORG(I doubt this cause Micron has 40 band vocoder and microKorg 8 band so its up to your logic and common sense to decide) and the ability to run on batteries, there's simply no comparison. The Micron bests the microKORG with decent full size synth action keys (not the best I've ever experienced, but far from the worst), and a much warmer, truer analog sound." To start I want to say that I'm using the words "Psychedelic Trance" and "Goa-Trance" for the same kind of music! But what really is Goa-Trance? Because Goa-Trance came out of New Beat, Gothic, New Wave, Industrial, Electro, Detroit & Psychedelic Rock it has an unique sound that is more complicated as the most modern Electronic dance music! I can't give you a definition of Psychedelic Trance simply because there's NO definition!! But I can give You some typical things of Goa-Trance : -The time of a track is generally around 8'30", but can be between 6'00" and 12'00" ... sometimes more, sometimes under 6'00" (especially on mixed compilations), but too short tracks are generally hard to get into. -The beat is generally 4/4 and around 135-150 BPM ... sometimes less, rarely more! -In the music there's a constant use of strange and psychedelic sounds, and that gives a strange atmosphere. Sometimes those sounds are frogs, barking dogs, crying baby's but mostly you can't describe it... You simply have to hear it!! Also used are the famous acid or 303 sounds, and even guitars, who drive people completely crazy! -Most Goa (but NOT all) is also very melodic. -The music is mostly very full on, good to dance... -The basslines are mostly harder and deeper as from normal Trance or Techno. -The combination of all those things make this music very good for dancing, tripping and listening...! So like you see Psychedelic Trance is something different. Before I end this it's maybe good to know the explanation of some terms used in English for some kinds of Goa-Trance: "Nizhonot" = The cheesy, pretty simple and happy Goa-trance, the most famous Nizhonot producer is Holy Men "Minimalistic Trance" = A rather new and progressive style, it's made out of a hard bassline, with only a few but well chosen Psychedelic sounds, very good to dance! Famous artists are Intact Instinct, Son Kite, Die Sonne,... "Morning Trance" = The melodic dream-trance, it's good to dance during a sunrise and after... And mostly the melodies are really touching! For example: Yahel, MFG, Shidapu, Hyperion,... "Psychedelic Ambient" = This is the softer Psychedelic Trance, great for chilling or listening at home when you're tired.

I agree with elysium.. But u shouldnt be so hard.. A little advice for start would be usefull but the rest is all about experimenting.. Long ago my friend comes, sits in front of computer, opens FL and in two seconds makes that ultra/pumping/groovy psy bass and I only know that he used Wasp.. He didnt tell me the secret still.. My toy has some sound of Jupiter 8.. Sounds good.. But I ll always respect Jupiter 8000, there is one project with that name, really good trance music..

Its really easy to program, no matter what the people say, its my first synth and I already managed it, so.. Less is more.. lol Cant wait to get home to start jamming on it.. They are all great devices and if I had the money all of them would be in my setup but for now micron will do his tricks.. Till I pay my bank credit for it.. lol..
