  1. i used to let my ex listen to X-Dream when we were in the car. Over time she ended up hearing all of their 5 main albums. she called it movie techno... i learned my lesson and will never play trance for any girl again
  2. Their newest album is extremely religious themed. This is obvious by looking at the track list but i remember reading an article saying thats what their all about now. I guess it makes sense why the "alien"ness of their past albums is gone
  3. not an actual album, but X-Dream's CD single for "Children of the last Generation" is one of my most sought items... i've never seen this for sale anywhere on the net
  4. this reminds me.. any word on the new Astral album? Was supposed to be early 2007 last i read
  5. Even though its a big change, I really enjoy MFG's 4th album (The Message). Especially that last track... very memorable and distinct
  6. they shared a studio with Astral at one point didn't they?
  7. yes astral seemed to have more singles and standout tracks
  8. I agree with the comments on MFG sounding more alien (i'm mostly referring to their first 3 albums). There is a magic in their sound
  9. wow and here i thought i'd get bashed for preferring MFG.. glad i am not alone on that one. Their sound has always grabbed my attention better then AP
  10. i would have to go with Juno Reactor and X-Dream. It is my opinion that these 2 really got the ball rolling in 1993. I guess there was stuff before and after that helped the scene... but i can't imagine what the trance world would be like had they never made music.
  11. Well i'm interested in hearing thoughts and opinions on who really is better. Sure AP is the more well known of the two, but honestly I find myself enjoying MFG more sometimes. There is an obvious comparision of the two... Anyone have thoughts on who is better and why?
  12. I was really excited until I read that these are download only releases. I don't even think i'll be checking them out now. I listened to some samples, and many of these seem like demos/alternate versions of already released tracks. Had this been on CD, i'd buy it in an instant.. i don't do MP3 releases
  13. I like this release quite a bit. At times it reminds me of X-Dream's "Radio".. but i guess that shouldn't be surprising. There are some REALLY good tracks here (The Vacuum & Spastic Elastic) and then again there are some just OKAY tracks (Amplifier & Acid Soul). I'd say as a whole, this album is nowhere as enjoyable as X-Dream releases, but it you're a fan of Dream or B.E.N. then you'd probably want to check this out
  14. i 2nd this. one of my favorite ambient CDs

I liked his Out of Focus album better. This one is good, but not as creative in my ears. His first CD seemed to have more diversity and appeal. This one is no pushover though.. Game Lord and Pro Tek get 2 thumbs up from me
  16. I have the 2xCD version and I admit this is fantastic stuff and easily in my tops for 2006... but I don't consider this IDM. Mostly minimal techno/house in my opinion, but could probably appeal to IDM fans.
  17. I love MWNM... but I have a hard time getting into this CD. There are some real standouts... but as a whole it's very hard for me to enjoy. Half of that reason is because of the 2 vocal tracks, and the other half is the couple non-vocal tracks that seem just dull. The stand outs make this CD worth owning, especially is you're a MWNM fan... but those vocals...

  19. What a great CD! probably my favorite best-of release that i own. Every track is perfect.. but my favorites are Cycles of Life, Adoration of the Aum and Bombay Night.. magical
  20. Just 1 guy. His name is Simon Heath. You can find tracks at www.coldmeat.se good way to check out his sound
  21. if you're a fan of dark ambient/cinematic music then there is no better artist in my opinion. they are soundtracks for untold horror movies...
  22. Yes. Well I think so at least. They had more life to them. Here is the first 3 albums Please note that this isn't for stupid covers! just showing abasio!
  23. the new Atrium Carceri album cover... my favorite dark ambient producer.. i expected something cooler.. like his first 3 album covers
  24. I have too many favs to name... How about one from each major release: The 5th Dimension (trip to trancesylvania) Our Own Happiness (we created our own happiness) Psychomachine (radio) Rain (panic in paradise) Rewind (irritant) Superintelligence (we interface) Piece (1991-2001 the best) I have tons of other favorites... These guys are the best of the best.
