I have both albums actually (big autechre fan) Doesn't matter which style of Autechre you like, the ambient side from the early 90s, or the crazy side they've become... this album is neither of those. Hell, if it wasn't labeled i'd never have guessed it was Autechre. Very minimal and ambient. Reading music in my opinion...

wow i didn't think that there would be this many phutureprimitive fans here. i agree that if his album was released on a better known label, he'd be a much bigger name in the scene

Yes... this will be the 2nd Shapeshifter act I am a fan of... although I know there are lots of artists who use that handle. I'm surprised you knew of the avatar i have.. i picked it because it looked cool, but the album is great too

thanks for all the recommendations! i'll check them out. As for those who haven't heard Phutureprimitive yet... wow you're really missing out in my opinion.. Sub Conscious is such a great CD. trance fans have something to look forward to because he now has a project called Shapeshifter thats basically a faster, more dance driven Phutureprimitive. You can find the samples of some tracks at phutureprimitive.com in the unreleased section... can't wait for the Shapeshifter album

Basically this is my favorite ambient/dub release ever and I was wondering if you guys (who seem to have great taste in electronic music) could recommend me something similar that i'd probably enjoy? Whether its trance or ambient,,, thanks in advance
