  1. if it wasn't upe it would be someone else. question is who let the material loose in the first place. but not releasing it is a shame really
  2. It's too late allready, if you haven't figured it out.
  3. Well it is pirated.. I've never see it happen to the retail thing. If it started to happen just recently, you might of changed some global settings, on purpose or by mistake. Check the options, see if anything is changed if you can remember the settings you set.
  4. Could be that you accidently locked the track, check if the lock button is enabled.. Dunno what else it could be, from those screenshots the track should snap to measure 4. Edit: You could also try to click on the Measure 4 to make the cursor snap to it, then left click the audiowaveform of 909kick3 to select it, right click on it and select Move To > Cursor.
  5. Btw, for those of you not aware of the demo scene, here's something you should watch: http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=10999 Click on Download on the right, and double click the 64kbyte executable in the archive. No, it's not a virus, it's something quite extraordinary, just watch what happens.
  6. Why not just store everything in a 64kbyte executable, like the demo scene does
  7. That would really make me want to take a shot of AIDS into my veins, if i was at that 'party'.
  8. Thing is most people use Winzip or just the plain archive handling system of Windows, which doesnt support .rar (or does it? I haven't checked winzip in a while ) Winrar supports both .zip and .rar's, so choosing .zip isn't a problem for winrar users. And if you're planning to use FLAC as the replacement for wav, there's no need for that extra compression in .rar files. I don't know about corruption, personally I can't remember when was the last time I downloaded a corrupt .zip file. And with FLAC, the archive shouldn't be that big for redownload anyways in case corruption does happen (and that should happen rarely, if ever). As of ease of use & familiarity of the file format, people have slowly accepted FLAC as their main alternative to Wav. Seems like the most comfortable choice to replace wav with FLAC. I don't see what else you could choose as the most widely accepted format.
  9. Let's not go into "what sounds the best". People buy mp3s from commercial artists and take it for granted these days anyway. FLAC sounds allright to me as an idea to replace wav. It's the perfect choice for the filesize/quality ratio.. Most players support it, altho I'm not sure about iTunes or Win Media Player, but it shouldn't be hard to find a FLAC plugin for those unsupported players. Maybe you should post a small guide on how to install a FLAC Input plugin for media players that don't naturally support for FLAC in case you do make the choice of using FLAC.
  10. Actually FL8 is out allready. Too bad you didn't look at screenshots after version 3 tho, cos version 4 was the leapfrog, that's when FL really started getting attention. It still has that pattern-based type of work, and it's probably hard to get used to when you've been using sequencers like Cubase/Logic. I've used FL for years, and then I started using Sonar & Cubase. It was quite hard to get used to the new environment, and it would be so vice-versa. I feel as they all have their advantages/disadvantages, so I use a mix of them all My biggest plus of FL is Stability, Ease of control & automation (+ Rewire support). Bad side is Bussing, Mixing, and a slightly lower list of supported VST plugins. But it gets better with every new version.
  11. FL has grown alot since it's old days, it really shows
  12. i Hav skazzi bassline v7. click and yu havet basslien on all youer tracks. prettny neat. but i hat to sell mai kiddneys becoz it was so expensuv...
  13. suntrip works to avoid these kinds of "talents".
  14. Not using flash to built the site doesn't neccesarly mean the site will have to look worse imo. Just take a look at soundclick. They've added theme support, each artist can design their 'home' page, which can look pretty good if handled properly. I don't think we have to compare to myspace, that site is a design fail, soundclick looks and feels much more in place, and is alot faster on top of that. Here's an example: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_music.cfm?bandID=418975 Would be nice if we could have something like this dedicated to psy and its subgenres.
  15. Well.. there's allready sites like psytracks.com (which require registration to download), twisted sessions (which doesn't require registration to download files). They do look kinda messed up, if you could build a site that had a decent look, easy to browse, not too aggressive for the eye, then yeah, could be a very good realized idea. There's others free music hosts too, but not strictly dedicated to psy-stuff, altho you can find that kind of material there. Like soundclick, music.download.com, etc.. There's one thing that's in common with all of these sites tho, which is that they only host 1 track per file, zipped archives or entire albums in an mp3 file are not supported. So maybe this is where to look at if you want to make something different from all those web music hosts. Just my 2 cents..
  16. Ahh.. Well finding stuff that is good is hard to keep for yourself. It seems 'natural' to share opinions on good music with other people . Unfortunately, the masses keep looking for 'new victims' among these genres. Just about any genre has gone or will go thru the 'commercialization' process, if the mass finds it 'hip'. Goa Trance was one of those genres which didn't last that long, that the big masses didn't attach to, which is kind of a good thing. See in the last few years we have these goa releases, mostly from Suntrip, and the music stays very close to the quality we've gotten so used to in the 90s. Perhaps one reason that most artists out there aren't interested into making goa, is that almost no record label is interested in publishing something like that, and the only alternatives are either Suntrip, who care about the music and won't release just anything labeled 'goa', or the artists could release their music for free. Because Goa has stayed almost untouched by commercialization, I consider it my personal favourite of all the music styles. One could wish that we could have several dozen releases a year, but I personally wouldn't want this genre to take risk by expanding to the big masses, I'd rather wait a few months for a quality release then see this genre sink to commercialization like psy-trance did.
  17. Money ruined the psy scene. Not the invention of PC-based production, altho yeah, it did help the new kids out there to make psy tracks in a matter of hours. But they had only one thing in mind when they were making that music, and that's money (and fame). Ambient music on the other hand was allways in the background, sort of like an underdog. It's artists never were affected by fame or money, they only cared about their music. And let's face it, the average person that's just entering the world of pc-based music production is really more interested in other forms of music like hip-hop, progressive, full-on etc, simply because its more 'popular', and, with all the instructions & instrument presets etc available on the web today, its real easy to make something in a matter of days. With the ammount of competition right now in the ambient domain, they wouldn't stand a chance even if they tried. Just my 2 cents..
  18. He's the first man that walked on the moon. He didn't land alone. The track is great tho. I think everyone would like to hear the full length
  19. I've posted a new MIDI Connections & VST/DX Automation in FL Studio Guide. Available here: http://dailyaudio.co.cc/forums/index.php?topic=13.0
  20. Top right, you see options? Click that, under display mode click on Standard. Dunno bout Ethereal.
  21. I dunno about pie trance (or i just cant remember right now), but there were some oldskool trance tracks that had that kind of buildup. I'm sure I could think of some piechedellics too, but I'll need to relisten to my library hehe. Dunno about nowadays tho, hard to find tracks with such quality
