  1. X-Dream - We Interface, I wasn't thrilled about this at first either, but thought some of the (non vocal) tracks were allright. Now I find even those utterly boring. This must be the disappointment of the year. I can't believe I went and used a blank CD to burn this.
  2. Well if you would actually READ before bitching, you would know that there is a reason why other continents were not differentiated, that is because there can be only 50 entries in the poll, so not all countries can fit in. Although you may question some choices in the poll, I think combining NA, consisting of only two countries, was a good move. If, for instance, Finland, Norway and Sweden had been combined as Scandinavia, I wouldn't bitch about it even though that would not even be technically correct.
  3. Uh, duh. North America is the continent your country is in. It's like not accepting that Finland is in Europe just so that it won't be confused to Sweden.
  4. Glad to help. If anyone else needs this the download links may be good for a couple of days so PM me if you want to download them.
  5. Canada was in North America last I checked.
  6. Finland here. It seems that for a small country we get around.
  7. I still consider Beyond the Infinite the best, but that may be because that was one of the first of psy I heard. But Transmissions is definately up there, with Labyrinth as well. Bible of Dreams and Shango are the weakest although they have some nice tracks too.
  8. I can put up a CD quality copy online if you want to download it?
  9. No you are not the only one. I didn't even like Are You Shpongled that much, Behind Closed Eyelids is good, that's about it. This poll would have been more interesting without Shpongle, more variation. The only information you get from it now is that yes, Shpongle is overrated.
  10. Yeah those laidback dub bass beats is what made it so great. Excellent stuff on a hot summer day accompanied with some cold beer. Too bad if their new stuff isn't as good.
  11. Ooze - definately. I wish they made another album, the first is my all time favourite chillout.
  12. But isn't Zero Density supposed to sound 'light', hence the name: Zero Density?
  13. Yep Zero Barrier is amazing track. Does anyone have a CD quality version of this album or is the mp3 all there is? I'd highly appreciate a lossless FLAC rip e.g.
  14. Have nothing to add to that. The way the tracks just build and build on The Gathering is amazing.
  15. Probably because in real life the results wouldn't be that great. I mean hasn't Posford been in tons of project yet none come even close to his own. To have a chance on working I think the artists would need to have similar style so they would complement each other, not contradict.
  16. The example was extreme, real world isn't. Yet I'd say that the scene today is filled with "artists" who have the technical skills to work their equipment but no real talent to create MUSIC. I suppose real talents can both compose and improvise and make either method sound good.
  17. It would be interesting to know how the process goes for really GOOD artists like Juno Reactor, Chi-A.D., Pleiadians, etc. I tend to agree that if the process of creating is "fiddlind around" then that's most likely how it will also sound when finished. aka 99% of today's psy, aka not worth listening. But like I said, it's the result that matters in the end. If a monkey hacking a typewriter comes up with Shakespeare then I'm willing to take it for what it is, not how it was made. It just isn't very likely.
  18. Both Dream Theater and Liquid Tension Experiment are great though, especially LTE2, awesome stuff. Pretty much the only non electronic stuff I like. Not sure why exactly it just sounds so much better than the usual rock music.
  19. Try soulseek it's good for electronic music. Audiogalaxy was shut down years ago. Remember to also share not just leech.
  20. I don't see what difference it makes how it's done per se, it's the result that matters. Of course, the reason why so much of "music" today sounds random probably is the fact that it is random, and thus crap. But if someone gets good results without having an idea behind it then I don't really care, I guess it's just less likely to get good results like that.

Does this mean you would agree that the comment about dowloading was a tad bit exaggerated considering that even the scene rips are at least VBR these days? Listening on a poor sound system can take away a lot from the listening pleasure, in some cases it's not even worth it I suppose, but if you have very hard time even differentiating mp3 and CD then that's hardly much a way from the enjoyment I'd say.
  22. I don't like compilations much, it's like getting a DVD with clips of different movies. What's the point? Artist albums are the way to go for me.
  23. Hehe. I thought the exact same thing after writing my post there. I was thinking to myself like what should we call them then. And like you, I would call this so called "progressive trance" just trance, because that's what it pretty much is. For me todays proggy stuff seems the closest continuation to the german trance I used to listen in the nineties when all of it was just trance. I don't really know what "Full On" should be called then. Any ideas?
  24. I'm with you and I've posted about the use of term 'progressive' myself before I think. IMO name should be something descriptive and like you say neither of those really is. "Full On" isn't really that full on, there's lot of old school goa that in my opinion is much more energetic, exploding and thus "full on" and "progressive" really isn't progressing anywhere, the "melodies" in progressive don't usually progress anywhere etc.
