I agree with you on all counts. Twisted is superior to The Lone Deranger and Hallucinogen is superior to Shpongle.

Not bearing witness to the splendour of Hallucinogen isn't a big deal really in the same way not appreciating the genius of Beethoven is no big deal. Personally I still remember walking into my local record shop in 1995 and hearing Twisted playing through the shop speakers. I was already into Total Eclipse, Juno Reactor, etc. but what I heard completely blew me away. I asked the guy at the counter for a copy only to be told it was a promo copy and it wouldn't be released for another 2 weeks. I ended up hanging around the shop for another 45 minutes pretending to browse through CD's but really listening to this new and amazing music. Two weeks later my copy in hand, a friend and I took magic mushrooms and we played Wipeout on the Playsation while Hallucinogen thumped through the stereo. I've been in love ever since.

I'd say 50 CD's is rather generous, the good psy (that I've heard at least) could probably fit onto around 30 CD's. I feel psy's generally becoming tired, generic and dull and as such I'm becoming increasingly less interested in the scene - especially when there's a wealth of quality music in more traditional genres that are able to convey warmth and emotion effortlessly without any pretence. Life's too short to waste listening to boring music. Why have baked beans on white bread when there's mussels in garlic sauce on offer?

I think you're right about Twisted not turning to full-on, not for a while at least as it would see too many of their existing fan base jump ship. As for the classic Hallucinogen sound - that changed after The Lone Deranger so it's unlikely he'll produce anything with a similar vibe and sound. Things change and evolve, you might as well embrace the fact.

I adore the samples but then Posford and Prometheus are my two favourite artists so I expected nothing less. It's interesting how Benji's signature is the more prevalent on both samples.

I feel it'll almost certainly be full-on.

I believe he might have said he wouldn't release another album under the Hallucinogen guise but he's released loads of 'Hallucinogen' singles since The Lone Deranger.

I'd rather he release something unlike Twisted or The Lone Deranger... but like traveller says the guy has the midas touch and whatever he releases begs to be taken to bed and repeatedly abused.

Tis indeed a great album. A solid 9/10 and a must-buy.

Most of us have fallen into disrespecting people though. I'm sure if one searched hard enough one would find that 90% of us have called someone an idiot, a twat or whatever. Also, his posts rarely targeted anyone in particular and were usually about his opinions on common human characteristics. Yes, he thought those who experienced love were idiots but he's free to forge his opinions in whatever way he sees fit. I personally never felt offended or insulted by anything he said and often enjoyed reading what he had to say and debating with him.

You say he deserved it but what did he do exactly? Sure, he was often rather negative and controversial but that's not reason to ban anyone. I mean, was he ever genuinely racist, threatening or hateful towards anyone?
