No track has ever brought me to tears, and goa/psy doesn't even come close to achieving this. Classical and folk frequently stir my emotions however.

Haha. I'm inclined to agree. Those leaning to the left who value hippy ideals (as I do) are just as closed minded to conservative values as conservatives are to leftist values. There really are no open-minded, enlightened people, only people thinking they are.

Yeah, that's a goodun. I like all the samples on the first track of Younger brother's album too. One of the best is "you may have noticed, but I'm not all there myself". Top stuff.

"Long, long arms covered with beautiful feathers" from Usual Suspects 2 is surely one of the best samples ever. "No more pie" is another good one from the same album. Oh and how could I forget Hallucinogen's "I've just pissed in my pants and nobody can do anything about it" from his Solstice remix. I love that sample.

I mean purely electronic tunes. Those you listed, which are fine albums, all use traditional string, piano, brass etc. as well as electronic sounds.

You think many of the the electronic tunes of today (and from the 90's) will sound good in 30 years time in the same way classic tunes from the 60's and 70's still sound incredible today? I believe very, very few will. On a personal level, most of the goa I enjoyed during the 90's sound pretty crappy today. Some tunes have stood up over the years, but it's a tiny percentage.

Agreed. It's a sad fact, but very little electronic music stands the test of time.

I think *cough-Twisted-cough* is the best goa album too, but feel The Lone Deranger comes a mighty close second, close enough for a photo-finish. As for the best psy, Classical Mushroom or BP Empire maybe. It's a tricky one.

Mmm, definately agree. Despite having the album for some 8 years I still can't choose my absolute favourite tracks, because as you say, they throw up different emotions and feelings with each listen.

Hehe, but seriously, yeah, you hyped it up, as did many others, I think it's a natural thing to do when one feels passionately about an artist. I'll likely do the same when Younger Brother or Ott are about to release their next album. It's difficult keeping enthusiasm in check sometimes.

I'd say The Gathering along with Classical Mushroom are their best releases. I can understand why somebody listening to The Gathering today for the first time might not like it, it's not aged as well as Infected Mushroom's other albums but it holds so many memories I can't help but love it.

Alas, this is the only Juno Reactor record I've not heard. Seen it on eBay and Amazon a few times but always at silly prices. I hope to have it one day.

I never fall for hype. I'm way too cool for that. On a serious note - I agree with what you say completely. The so-called 'big releases' that I've heard this year have left me cold and I can't help feeling trance has seen it's best days. It's been on a downward slope for many years now, and, yes, it might scale the dizzy heights of old again, but I can't see it happening.

I know what you're saying but, like a select few before him, radi came into this world before his time. I understand some of his statements sometimes come across as ridiculous and naive, but in time I'm confident he will be regarded as a genius, a saviour, and something future generations will aspire too. The Lord moves in mysterious ways.
