  11. There's still a few weeks left in the year, so can't post my top 10's yet. I pretty much agree with Le Lotus's overview of 2005...surely not a year full of amazing mind blowing releases, but yet a year in which I found plenty of releases that I was into... -crappy year for full on -great year for chillout -yup stagnant year for progressive -decent year for psychedelic (nighttime and morning)

  17. Actually...his album is now scheduled for release on Acidance Records...I just finished writing his bio the other day, so I'll share here Phatmatix is Shephane Rault from Paris, France. An ex-guitar player for the rock band, 'Mildred Pierce' based in east France, Rashka was first introduced to psychedelic trance in the late 90's. Since then, he has been DJ'ing trance all around the globe keeping his focus on powerful night time psychedelic sounds. After returning from an Australian tour in 2003, during which he played at some of the largest festivals and parties, Earthcore, Rainbow Serpent, and Exodus to name a few, he was inspired to start his solo project, Phatmatix. After many long hours in the studio, Rashka developed a sound he could truly call his own. It was an instant success, and he went on to release his first track 'Diabolyk' on the Swiss label, Peak Records. Constantly in search of new ways of experimenting with sound, Rashka then joined forces with Mechanik Sound Records. Working alongside Neuromotor and Hyper Frequencies, he contributed his psychedelic perceptions to the Mechanik Castle compilation under the guise of several collaborative projects such as Los Diablos (Phatmatix, Neuromotor, and Hyper Frequencies), Chromatix (Phatmatix & Chromatone), Superpunk (Phatmatix & Hyper Frequencies) and Time Machine (Phatmatix & Neuromotor). The dynamic and ever evolving sound of Phatmatix combines funky rhythmic beats with quirky FX and supernatural atmospheres, creating an unpredictable contrast between the dark and light that keeps doofers begging for more. Known for his addictive dancefloor sounds, Phatmatix has become one of the most sought after new psychedelic talents from France. In early 2005 he focused his energies on composing, producing, and DJ’ing psychedelic trance for Red Cells Records alongside Triskell and Digital Talk at their homebase in Paris. More recently, however, he has joined forces with Acidance Records and has an upcoming album scheduled for release on the label in April of 2006, keep an eye on this upcoming French talent! phatmatix discography :------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- phatmatix _diabolyk / peak records phatmatix _spasmodic dizorder / mechanik records phatmatix _pyroman / fragile planet records phatmatix _back to earth / red cells records phatmatix vs audiobrains / sonic machine / red cells records phatmatix_violent comedy / noise poison records phatmatix_ human poison / timecode records phatmatix_pandemonium / beyond logic records side projects : superpunk _ psychodiva / mechanik records los diablos _perceptions de l 'irrealité / mechanik records chromatix _mechanik castle / mechanik records xtra units _mutant rebellion
