  1. i personally enjoy good beatless ambient when i am reallly stoned and im going to bed... so i drift for like half cd in la-la land and it eases me into a sleep... nothing pisses me off more than being at the doors of dreams when the kick just wakes you back to reality... it's also really soothing music when i have to do work... ha nice one!
  2. 4 months ago i left a buddy in holland my equipment and he's paying for it in cd's since he works in a cd shop... we have similar tastes and by this point i just pretty much get recommendations from him on the mail, like once every couple of weeks... as he got too lazy to write reviews... besides that, i for once use isra-trance promotion section for something else besides posting my crap... i.e checking out what might sound interesting... after that... i likewise find saiko samples sufficient to determine if i like it or not... i don't buy psyshop for personal reasons but they get stuff first now and again and i do chekc this link often i sniff my way through them now and again too
  3. wow man tribal vision is on a roll lately... great stuff... not too sure about that prosect guy though.. pullin your leg, brother... actually im probably waiting to hear your stuff more eagerly than others given all the recent positive feedback i have been reading rock on

  7. i would like to apologize for my previous post, i was obviously in bad mood and im sorry if anyone got offended... i am glad to read some people do find reviews useful... i'm not talking about my own but just in general. After all the is the premise of my 'hobby' website and i alongside a small number of people have spent a lot of time on it (not mention a little money) in an effort to promote and help out this scene... with good help from a number of people here...

  10. Had to track that one out, V/a - Moonkey... alltogether not my fav cd... hehe... tis a great song though! i didin't find much that sounded alike in his album this year, Phonic Peace... but it wasn't all that bad. Just different vibe altogher. I did get into cell because of that song as well though... from what i remember, the album picked more in that ambient mood by the end
  11. Reviews for Tikal - Carnaval I've heard it and i give it 1 [ 6 ] ** [46.15%] 2 [ 4 ] ** [30.77%] 3 [ 2 ] ** [15.38%] 4 [ 0 ] ** [0.00%] 5 [ 1 ] ** [7.69%] that worked great mate i used to do it and nobody gave a damn so i gave up on that option... i'd much rather see people express their opinions based on actual reason than senless voting, but thats just me.
  12. perhaps, but grouping everyone in this category seems a little cynical and paranoid to me.
  13. If you actually bother reading this thread as someone who reviews, it is so clear pleasing everyone is technically IMPOSSIBLE. So because there is a bunch of new releases under 'really good' lately then that automatically means people are getting pse-udo promos and hyping some cd? I guess the possibility of having different people reviewing stuff with different states is just not an option... Or the first person who actually wrote something on the topic was the one that got the promo? honestly what kind of quack fukin theory is that? get real people! nobody is out there to please labels so they will sent him a couple more cd's he didin't like to begin with anyway!? reviewing stuff is aout telling people about new music they might or might not like/ eitherway is about opening your mind a little to new stuff... Is about telling people about a great cd they just got, someone might be interested or did not know about... thats why reviews are ussually positive... because it sucks writting crap about music you don't enjoy... it's more a tedious process than anythign else... but i guess in people's minds there has to be even a secret conspiracy EVEN for reviews.... right i enjoy reading pr0fane's reviews, Aje's and Deathpsoture who is there to fill out a void of new music coming out that people might interested about... yet people seem so caught on dimishing what is to me... seemingly an labour love... cause nobody is paying you to sit down a couple of hours and writte some words about a cd... but is rather the need to communicate about good music to people. Yet some folks can't really see that. so they clutter in this thread... when they haven't written/read a single review, or participated in any review discussion for that matter... just to bitch about it... so you know what? shut the hell up cause we aren't interested in your opinions either. Bitching is oh-so fashionable these days ain't it? gonna smoke a ciggie now cause i obviously woke up on thw wrong side of the bed

    Jairamji - Kindred Spirits

    1. Chime 2. Swaragami 3. Breathing Space 4. Pianissimo 5. Mother Tongue 6. Heal 7. Celestial Reasoning If there is one down tempo album I have been listening for a bit now, usually in seasons is Jairamji with Kindred Spirits. Admittedly is not very psychedelic in the traditional sense of the word, but is such great music that if we talk about Interchill records here, or all this neo-world music everyone seems to have taken a liking for, this one should not go unmissed. It’s a special mix of ambient-tribal-lounge, almost entirely based of organic drumming and a strong return-to-nature feel. When used the voice samples are delightful chants of unknown languages, much like Angel Tears. Refined material for lighting incense. Chill out music with a soul included. Stuff to play in double date on a urban-hippie crowd, yet it’s so well crafted it invites the headphones. It’s something you have to press play and allow it some time for it flourish. I took a bit to like it because it’s packed of this strange American-indigenous spice, that if you don’t know what to expect, it might take you for a surprise. And not all the songs are great as the highlights, yet personally it is not even a question of purchase. Some tracks like ‘Breathing Space’, ‘Heal’, “Celestial Reasoning” and maybe even “Swaragami” feel like progressive, organic drumming in what I could only vaguely compare to Deviant Electronics. Yet it also reminds of the early squarepusher in his most coherent moments on the adaptation of jazzy breaks. There is one track with great female vocal samples, “Mother Tongue” accompanied with some “playing to the dessert-dawn” flute and guitar echoing in amazing grace. “Chime works well with the vocals but, is not as mesmerizing as the aforementioned. “Pianissimo” originally attracted me to the thing and I’m not too sure I love it now, but is the most accessible one. Obviously, there are piano lines and there is a decent loungy beat to the composition. Some other tracks are forgivable, but overall there is something that for one reason or another was playing my stereo a lot these years, usually during summer. Don’t know if it’s the sunny days and general tranquility that just makes this stuff more appealing, but… it works for me. Highlights: 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 (Looking at it, I guess I like most of it… maybe not all at the same time, tough). pardon the editing errors, a little too late in the day for that http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display...ase.asp?id=3270
  15. Global Communication - Pentamerous Metamorphosis - i actually called it 'phases' for so long cause all the tracks are alpha phase, beta, etc. Jairamji - Kindred spirits (Daikini) - is gorgeous piece of down tempo... and there is clear idea throughout the thing of well being, it's very organic stuff... - stress assassin - carrier track - ultra mellow dubby beats on top ambient surroundings... is not my fav. but there is a sense of unity and a concept, sure...
  16. When the opportunity to interview this lovely young lady came through we just couldn’t let it pass... so for those interested, enjoy! http://www.sonic-energy.net/interviews/psynina.html

  20. nice dude, promissing stuff... very pro sounding...
  21. i digged psyfactor... is some nice dark stuff, which managed to retain that orchestrated structure...
  22. thankx dude now it is no longer shameless self-promotion you just lost me here... i have no idea what yer talking about then...
  23. well i write reviews now and again so i figure i should answer a couple of things here. More and more labels are turning to consider people reviewing CD's for promotional purposes. This is not however an extension of their PR campaign as i see it. as a matter of fact for some reason the reviews i go hardest on, and i take the time to criticise constructively are the ones that write back saying thanks. Reviews IMHO are out there too provide info not only on the CD itself but the artist, the record label, what they are up to these days, how does it compare to their previous releases... what it might sound like in respect to similar stuff out there. and what you might expect. Not to mention having to accuratelly describing the sound/flow so other people will understand. Shameless self-promotion here... sonic-energy 90% of the times includes samples in the reviews (80% of times saiko samples) so you can get an idea of what it sounds like too... as we all know words are not always enough. I have written reviews from Optokoppler, to Uni to Interphaze, going to Inpyside releases to Maia releases to...V/A - wild rumpus & vertigo records stuff... what category do i fall in then?
  24. get v/a - albedo (ultimae) just ordered it ... looksss sooo sweet it's got a bunch of people from Chilosophy vol.3 + the ultimae people.. can't go wrong with it... innit
