i do agree to a certain extent here, you won't ever hear me playing a alternative control-ananda shake-style-set, i do always play music i like myself. but there's a difference between serving the crowd with music they want in your own style, wich i do, and just saying 'fuck the crowd i play my music and if you don't like it go home', wich you do (imho)

well then that must be the difference between you and me, i don't like put myself in a box of a certain style, and play ONLY that style...i think a dj has skills if he is able to play all sorts of music, and still make it sound like his 'own' sound. not always keep on banging in the same style and refuse to step outside your box....i don't really understand dj's who absolutely want to play THEIR style, no matter what the crowds reaction is. it like 'I'm gonna tell you what good music is...' again: no offence intended. i think it's just 2 different approaches on what kind of dj you want to be:)

just for the record: whenever i play a set on my own, i ALWAYS prepare it. and most of the time my guess about the atmosphere at the party is right, and i play the set i had prepared. but i did hapeen when my guess was wrong, and i played tracks on the fly wish 'saved' my set (so to speak)

ah well then you obviously think you have magic powers. so there is NO party you ever played where you thought 'damn, maybe this music doesn't really suit the moment'? well, maybe you didn't think so no offence eh!

i used to think that home mixes are the best too. But i've had several times when i would be playing the tracks i planned at home, and noticed that the time, mood, or something else wasn't right for the music i was playing. i was so happy i had brought some backup cds, and my set turned out a lot better when i started playing the music ppl obviously wanted to hear so of you have the magic ability to know what atmosphere there will be at a party, yes then homemade sets are the best. if you don't (i don't) i think it's best to bring some backup so you can adapt yourself to the crowd in the end you're still playing music for the ppl in front of you, not for yourself..;

oh i DO have one request...would it be possible to make some form of 'new posts' button for the review forum? cuz now i always miss new posts in that section because of the extensive posting in off-topic... NB: ppl can spam and talk crap as much as they want, as long as i don't have to read it, just wanted to clear that out

oh jea that's right i really liked the old system with the highlighted releases, and the easy and fast way of reviewing it. i it's possible, please have a search with lots and lots of different options, and one that isn't as precise as the old one. if you would type one letter wrong, you didn't get any results..

i don't know what happened, but we had a deal for about 10 cds, i told him i would pay in a few days cuz i had to switch credit cards..... when i tried to contact him a few days later, no response up till now... i'm still hoping he'll turn up one day, but the least he could do is tell me the deal is off so i canj spend my money on something else....

both back and front are VERY nice, but are a bit too different IMO...maybe it's the color contrast?

oh, umm antwerp i met him the day after he played at the party. he was staying at a friend of mine, and i kind of found him on the streets while i was on lunch break from school. he was kind of lost so i showed him around antwerp...he was completely utterly amazed everytime we came to a zebra crossing he would stand there for minutes waiting for the cars to pass and then run across the street as if he was running for his life i said 'dude, these stripes on the street, thay actually WORK here', he was like well in SA you'd get a car in yer ass before you know it really nice and down to earth guy he is had a nice chat with him about the scene and shit...he hates skazi just like us all

the name artifakt suits him well, when he played here he was obsessed with all the churches and castles ... he really lost it

errm ok, i'm not getting touchy still love u man haha, seriously i wasn't pissed at you r something. i just didn't know what you meant with your remark. was it you blamed moni for cheating? or was it just the fact that you said psynews' music polls aren't representative for the rest of the psy world. i thought you were referring to moni with the objective thingy. so yes i understand the representative part, but not the objective part, let's put it that way. there are lots of psynewsers that HATE suntrip releases (raise yer hand plz ), and that lot of them doesn't know jos or fabien, so i really don't think they have been telling ppl to vote for them r something. I really can't agree with you on that...

about objectivity: with all due respect, but do you really think moni is the type of person who would cheat to get these 2 suntrips in the top 5? i think she couldn't care less, really. psynews, however, is not really representative, as you and i know there are lots of oldskool fans here, that's why suntrip got such good scores. So this Poll is not representative for the rest of the psy-world............that's why it's called the psynews poll i guess
