  1. I think Technossomy's Pyramid still has the best goa mood of all tracks I've heard. Sure, plenty of basic dancefloor pounders have Indian-styled stock samples glued on them, but mostly they just bug me. Often they don't really fit, and they've been used a million times since they appeared on some sample CD in the 90s. Please find some new chants if you absolutely want to use them...
  2. Ulf Söderberg aka Sephiroth? Moody and emotional with plenty of northern/folky touch, field sounds and such. I spent quite a lot of time and money to get the original CDs, and they surely were worth it. From pitch black ambient, try Plague Recordings, for example. They've released some good stuff recently. ATOI's and Wicked Messenger's latest are on my 2009 top list. I have made a few mixes of that style too. Available by request. Or find the dark ambient threads from the "other electronica" subforum. They're oozing with recommendations.
  3. The special effects team spent months on this.
  4. Mick Turner has a track named like that on this ambienty CD from 1997... Your description is vague indeed.
  5. Whee! (Not 100% accurate, but .)
  6. Half a mile to the west it would be Dark Soho...
  7. Nervasystem & Aether. That album has a couple of truly mysterious tracks. Unfortunately I don't have a pic, and I'm just digging my crates for tomorrow's set so I can't draw one either. Sorry for the hogging. Free for all to post a new pic.
  8. Wait...I thought it was: 02 (08:00) Crossing Mind - Psy Crise -- 04 (23:00) Crossing Mind - Cyclone in Your Heart 05 (28:30) Psychopod - Friagram -- 11 (59:30) Afgin - Journey through Acid Does anyone agree?
  9. Yay! Original interpretation, BTW. I have no old stock so this picture is dedicated to Bug Kann & The Plastic Jam's "Made in Two Minutes".
  10. Prometheus?
  11. Yep. It wasn't that hard, was it? Indeed, I remixed that Rejected scene, because it fit so well. Usually I draw my pics from scratch.
  12. OK. Definitely needed a clue or two. The map didn't have any hint about scale or whether it was land, lake, island or anything. The arrow was a bit too well hidden too. Anyway...
  13. Trickster?
  14. Rapidshare sucks gigantic donkey balls nowadays. I can possibly get one file after thirty tries at some odd hours - or not. Use anything else if you want people to access your stuff without enormous frustration.
  15. OK, I have a random idea on simplifying this process. It's just an untested suggestion so don't stone me, OK? We have discogs. As mentioned, releases are added there almost instantly. Anyone can do it. If a release is worthwhile, it will be there soon. And they have the API to query to database. Would it be feasible to let people type in discogs release numbers? Then check from the queries if it was released in year X, and possibly whether it has goa, psy-trance, downtempo, ambient, dub or something in its genre fields. If not, add it to a manual checking list. Yes, I might be willing to do some of this coding. To me it sounds more appealing than a lot of manual harvesting work every year.
  16. Anything by Shaolin Wooden Men, maybe...Trickster EP is both weird and wonderful. Not an album, though.
  17. There are handy cue plugins, which show the tracks as separate playlist entries in your player, just like they were multiple files. I think this does it in Winamp. QMMP is a nifty clone for Linux and supports .cues natively. Cue splitters also exist for various file types and OSes if you want to create a permanently split copy for portables etc.
  18. I say "no", but open a thread where people can post their list, recommendations, comments and more. Voters can freely choose their level of privacy. Maybe someone even dares to vote Skazi. No big deal either way to me, though.

Happy new year, and let there be even more hot stuff in 2010. P.S. I'll definitely listen to your ultima(t)e mix too.
  20. Almost related. We've alredy seen this one...sort of... I spent $100 million on the photorealistic CGI.
  21. Alright, worked fine this time. Apparently just a glitch in the first transfer. I felt like asking before wasting another 425M of transatlantic bandwith. Now playing. (The correct MD5 is a64586c0038d66a127abe661976ec700 if anyone cares.)
  22. Skazi? ...or maybe Tan-doo, taking the hint into account.
  23. Gah, my flac download gave a CRC error. Is the archive broken or did my download just fail? This is what I got: Jikkenteki - The Beginning Is At The End - 2009 - FLAC.zip size: 446033894 bytes md5: ee25cc4d6a6ceff1afeb08bd2d2c1627
