  1. Dementertainment is one of the highlights, if not the highlight of the psy-trance scene. If I remember correctly Twisted spoke of releasing an Infernal Machine live cd from the Dementertainment release party, but it never was released, and we never got any more Infernal Machine tunes. Btw, Clarity from Deep Fog was one of those tunes that a lot of people became influenced by: only weird noises for several minutes and then a melody at the end. np: Torakka - Dead and 74
  2. I just got my hands on what is credited as being Dino Psaras remix of Eurythmics Sweet Dreams. Is he seriously playing this track in his live sets? That distorted fake electric guitar, I've never heard anything sound as awful. I'm thinking that the tune I have could be a fake by some kid. The tune is 4.38 long, there's a break at 2.23 and build up until 2.43 and then there's a sudden stop at 3.35 but unfortunately (!!!) the tune continues for another minute. There's no singing, just the melody. *shudder* np: Aimee Mann - One (Rude Ass Tinker Remix) <--- That is a fun remix
  3. These tracks are as random as fractals. Psychedelic music is about being in the moment and expecting the unexpected. Psychedelic music should question the boundaries rather than stick to them. Psychedelic music does not equal psychedelic trance. np: Bluetech - Alchemie Dub
  4. It's been quite a while since I listened to this compilation, I do remember that it was one of the best releases back in its days. Now, equiped with better speakers and surround sound, this compilation sounds even better! This is a good representation of the Psy-harmonics sound: twisted, dark and highly psychedelic forest music. There's the 4/4 tracks and the weird breaks tunes, a lovely variation indeed. There's lots of sounds and loops repeating and turning into a trance state of progressive madness. The atmoshpere is as psychedelic and twisted as it gets. These tunes may seem like random nonsense, but there's flow and progression in these tunes that tell of a planned and talented craftsmenship, at least to these ears. The highlights are Sinister Association, The Visitors, Shaolin Wooden Men and Higher Spin States. The only forgetable track is by Assassin Device. Back in 1998 this was one of the coolest, weirdest and most psychedelic releases. It still remains cool, weird and very psychedelic. I wish there were more labels that dared to challenge the boundaries of psychedelic music and put more variation in their compilations while not losing the focus on the atmosphere and vibe. np: Excession - Spatialize
  5. It's not alot if you consider the total output. np: Murcof - Maiz
  6. I just hit reply so that people will get a chance to read this one more time!
  7. I really don't know about this one. I listened to it back in 2002 and I didn't enjoy it then, and I still don't like it. To my ears almost all tracks are too cheesey, but I guess that's the Chi A.D. sound some like. Not my cup of tea.
  8. I'm not sure I understand what you're implying here and to what extent it is directed at me. I've criticized this entire poll/topic from day one. Saying that one album is crap is different from saying that an entire genre is not music. You like goa trance, someone else likes country, there really is no reason why we should claim that one style isn't music. My reply has nothing to do with political correctness, it has to do with showing respect to one another. About hateful threads, I do not have the time to read all threads and posts, nor the interest to comment everything. I do have my own style/taste, and I've stated it several times on this forum, here goes again: psy-trance, deep house, idm, jazz and classical.
  9. Have you heard and danced to deep house? Way groovier than most things labelled as groovy in psy-trance. I prefer deep house over most progressive psy releases. I'm all for people having different opinions about music and styles, but claiming folk music and country not to be music is so incredibly disrespectful and ignorant. I didn't expect that from you Seraph. As someone who listens to electronic music you should know that a lot of people consider electronic music not to be music, but we know better than that right? That insight can be extended further...
  10. Yey, yet another incomplete poll! The best israeli artist is not on the list: Sandman.
  11. Well, I think that what we need is a seperation of reviews (database) and comments (forum). Comments can be good, but has a tendency to only be relevant for a short period of time. If I'm thinking of buying a record I don't want to read posts about mp3's and how labels are hurt buy them, or what has caused the decline in sales. These comments are most of the time relevant at the time they're posted, but a month later they're not, and furthermore they will not help me to decide if this is a good record or not. I guess that what I want is both, as they fill different purposes.
  12. If we support the artists I'm sure some of them eventually will have enough money to record their own tibetan choir...
  13. Are there any psy-trance, techno or house parties in Vaasa? Any sites I could visit for regular information?
  14. Shaolin Wooden Men - Remember the Slime Shpongle - Dorset Perception (Doors of Perception, Aldous Huxley...) Quirk - The Church of Sinister Footwork Nervasystem & Aether - Triple Edged Ektoplasmo' Funk
  15. Maybe the admins could create a promotional forum?
  16. I have nothing against DeathPostures reviews, there's indeed a bunch of good reviewers on the IsraTrance forum. What I dislike about IsraTrance is the huge amount of pointless posts, see above.
  17. Imagine a bunch of people claiming every release to be the best ever, then imagine another bunch informing everyone that they have just ordered the release and can't wait to get it, then imagine yet another bunch writing that they have been waiting for this release for a long time and believe that it will be the best ever and then the final bunch congratulating the reviewers of their great reviews. Here's an example of what most threads tend to look like: http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/...c/43917/forum/9
  18. Do you mean this one? http://www.ishkur.com/music/
  19. It's not that simple. We should be able to criticize topics otherwise the forum won't evolve. The moderators make sure we're polite to one another and stick to the subject and rules, but we as members need to decide what subjects are relevant and what rules to follow.
  20. The Stereopark album is amazing! I feel in love with it instantly. The sounds and atmospheres are so incredibly good, especially on a good set of speakers. A lot of non-psy-trancers tend to like this album when ever I play it.
  21. We do not need bullshit pools like this one, grow up. I like both techno, house and psy-trance.
  22. I was browsing around on the Isratrance forum and stumbled over the Filteria topic. In that topic there's a very interesting post from Etnicanet: "Giannis is a very dedicated artist and you will listen to a lot more strong tunes out of his monster(very analogue) studio in sweden in the near future! He is invited at the etnicanet studios in January." http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/...c/50413/forum/9 Is there anything you could tell us about this visit?
