  1. Quirk - Institute: "I'm just sure they're gonna probe my anus"
  2. Shaolin Wooden Men - Supermindway
  3. I'm sure you're going to love these: Monolake - Interstate Monolake - Cinemascope Pitch Black - Electronomicon
  4. Etnica - Sharp - Solstice 2004 It has been nine years since Etnica released their first album, "The Juggeling Alchemists Under The Black Light", on High Society. Back then their sound was quite stripped down and simple. Nine years later I can’t help but feel reminded of that first album. I’ve always liked Etnica/Pleiadians/Crop Circles. While most people think they have degraded, I think they have evolved. The first Etnica album is a typical debut, kind of scetchy, but full of potential. That potential is maximized in “Alien Protein” and of course Pleiadians “IFO”. The following album, “Equator”, tries a new more experimental direction and succeeds. From then on it’s a some what bumpy ride with fewer members, but still a high quality sound, although too minimal at times. Now, the evolution of Etnica has come full circle. Imagine the sound of their “Chrome” album crossed with melodies and you’ve got “Sharp”. It’s not the blasting melodies of the “Alien Protein” or “IFO” though, but rather a revisit of their first album. The heavy basslines, sound fx and trippy melodies are a great combination, and a mix I’ve been hoping for a long time. There are some fillers namely “Inner Space” and “BAS”. These two songs feel like left overs from the “Chrome” era. The melody progression in the album is overall quite simple, but it works in the stripped down and bass heavy environment in which their executed. Among the plastic clones and presets of 2004 “Sharp” stand out as deep melodic journey and dare I say nostalgic? Highlights: Automatik, Eros, Sharp, Photonik

    Talpa

Great! I thought his debut album showed a lot of potential, but in the end it sounded to dry. Looking forward to future releases from Talpa.
  6. Todays most disappointing old school artist is of course Infected Mushroom.

  8. I like spinach.
  9. Here's another favourite thread, yay! The conditions are as follows: - artist name must start with a d - track name must end with a s - there must be a voice sample in the tune - the tune should have been released during the period 1996-1998 - the label on which the tune has been released must also have relased at least one track that involves Simon Posford in one way or another. I choose Darshan's Tranceformations tune released on Flying Rhino.
  10. Flutes seldom work in goa trance, this is unfortunately one such moment. Besides that, it sounds promising. I really like the acid part.
  11. More music for the Matrix-techno-rave-computer-nerd-teens.
  12. You sound like a Matrix-techno-rave-computer-nerd-teen.
  13. I guess that short sample sounded ok, but seeing as he hasn't released anything as Hallucinogen in ages I would be very surprised if he released an incredible tune for a video game soundtrack. It would make more sense if he saved the great stuff for his own label, I mean the Unusual Suspect 2 compilation could really use an extra good tune instead of those average collaborations.

  15. Because noone throws any parties where you live? There's one simple solution to this problem: do it yourself! Good luck!
  16. More music for the Matrix-techno-rave-computer-nerd-teens.
  17. Yes, but then he's dressed in space tribe spandex, a tip hood and shouts "take dmt..dmt..dmt" in the microphone, no wait, that's the other guy, Rudolf Ram.
  18. I like the Green House Effect album a lot, and I wouldn't consider it selling out. Keep in mind that he used a new artist name for a sound that was completely different from his Sandman music. According to the rumours no label has been willing to release Sandman's new music, just as with the Chi-AD album.
  19. Metal Spark released their Corrosive album on Blue Room. Btw, if you like Metal Spark you should try Sibilant, it's one of their aliases. They released an album on Symbiosis called Proper Filth. Two great albums.
  20. I forgot two really good funky releases: Koxbox - The Great Unknown (essential!!!) Eraser vs. Yojalka - Tarinat

  22. Lots of people have been a part of Slinky Wizard but never Mark Allen as far as I know: http://www.discogs.com/artist/Slinky+Wizard
  23. I would recommend: Haltya - Electric Help Elves Maskalin - Way of Life Squaremeat will probably do the trick too. About the second track on the Electric Safari compilation, that's Electric Tease: http://www.discogs.com/artist/Electric+Tease Btw, Tim Healey used to work with Mark Allen as Quirk. As Quirk they released one of the best psy-trance albums: Machina Electrica & Fornax Chemica
  24. This is not to be confused with psychedelic trance, it's Skazi techno rave music for the computer nerd teens dreaming of being Neo in the Matrix and sneaking out from mom and dad to go to their first illegal underground techno rave party. Don't worry they will grow up.
  25. I like Out of Sight quite a lot. It's very deep and warm.
