  1. How is this a distinctive sound while Entheogenic is a Shpongle copy? To me Entheogenic's productions are just as good, probably better than this, and they do not "copy" Shpongle any more than Phutureprimitive does. But if you can find something to back up your view I'm listening.....
  2. Yeah, the Trance X-Press single is one of their first releases (if not the very first), released back in 93 or around that. Because of that it doesn't sound exactly like their newer stuff, but it's still quality old school trance. As ukiro said, use discogs, at least when it's back up. Pretty annoyed now that it's down. As for the vote, I voted "Moon Cake", don't know all the tunes by heart though, so it's possible that I like other tunes better. Still, "Moon Cake" is what springs to mind.
  3. 1. Don't really care! 2. I dislike everything that IM have done, so I prefer Shiva Shidapu even though I'm not a big fan of them either. 3. Same as 1!
  4. Yeah, "Lockvogel" from the same 12" is also a good one, check it out if you can.
  5. Heh, Taksi is far from newcomers, they've been making techno since 1996. It's not very psy related though, but everything I've heard from them have been great. Check out stuff by their alias Brtschitsch & Galluzzi as well as Paul Brtschitsch's solo work. Very much recommended. Brtschitsch & Galluzzi
  6. Early stuff by GMS, Astrix and Talamasca is pretty good, but nowadays there's very little that is listeable. Maybe a track or two here or there, but that's all. If you categorize Blue Planet Corporation as full on though, I agree with EP that it's still quality stuff.
  7. Really? That was new to me, you learn something new every day......
  8. Holy hell, not again! Use the search function dammit!
  9. Does it really matter? If a track is good, I couldn't care less what the BPM rate is.
  10. I hope you're right - they all deserve to be there LOL.
  11. Interesting stuff, will check this out as fast as possible.
  12. The title track was one of my first favourite goa tracks, but I must say now that I know more music it isn't that special anymore. And tbh nothing else I've heard from Muses Rapt have really stood out as anything special.
  13. 7/10 from me. Some good parts, but some straight out boring parts too. And yeah, many of the samples used are cheesy and bad, especially the Terence McKenna ones.
  14. Talking about Eat Static, I come to think of Eat Static vs Manmademan - Regen, that's some pretty hot shit. But yeah, as Cinos pointed out Alien Project is some of the worst psy out there, so that's not a very good comparison.....
  15. They're definetely not among the best acts out there, that's for sure. Some good tracks, but most tend to be pretty boring.
  16. Simon is the #1 producer of psychedelic trance music. period. But a god, well, no.
  17. Indeed. I watched the movie not knowing the lyrics was sampled from it, and was kind of stunned. Cool sample as well.
  18. You should include some Medicine Drum. "Ulhuru", "Wizard's Brew" and "Tribal Heart" are some of my favourite tracks from them. Everything they've made has a tribal edge though, so it's just to pick and choose.
  19. The fact that "Accelerator" is the "most commercial" if you choose to call it that is exactly the reason why it would be the safest one to buy first, also because the tracks on it are in the same vein as PNG. The other albums may not be to his tastes in the same way, at least that is my experience. But hey, everyone have to make up their own minds.
  20. Most of their stuff (Lifeforms, Dead Cities etc) is pretty unlike "Papua New Guinea" though, so it's not guaranteed that you'll like those. The safest thing to do would be to go for their first album "Accelerator" with PNG on it, preferrably the double album with PNG remixes. The other albums are pretty special, I'm not saying it's bad (I'm sure it's great), but it's not for everyone. You should at least check out what it sounds like before you buy it. I for one have never understood what's the big fuzz is all about.
  21. Yeah, and Hallucinogen vs Eat Static around 2035.
  22. I'm very much into old trance too, and I like all those you listed seraph. Way better than anything released today.
  23. Same here. The old sounds of Platipus, Eye-Q and the likes was something special.
  24. And it's not psy either. I guess way over 50% of the tracks mentioned so far is anything else but psy-trance. I guess that includes the "Journey" track too?
