Take my opinion with a pinch of salt but I'm sad to say I agree that the sound of this is disappointing, especially on a technical level, considering the label and artist. Plus the album name is totally cynical IM(Biased)O. I hoped for so much more, both creatively and sonically.

Hmh, on a second look a lot of these tracks were released before but in they were pretty obscure releases.

Astral Projection - For All Mankind Before I get into each track I have to say that I dislike the sound of the album, not the music but the sound. Its to me very flat, and the loudness is pushed too aggressively. So instead of complaining about this on every single track, ill just say this at the start. Its modern, sure, but its just too much. Theres tons of modern stuff thats also dynamic, so I cant see why AP couldn't keep themselves more dynamic than this. But, for whatever reason they decided that loudness was the way to go.. And its not just loudness either, its like, it just sounds off. For what its worth, this sounds very very "digital" compared to their other stuff that to me sounds much more "analog". 1. For all mankind Classic bassline and kick. But polished, modernized. Its the "Another World" or "Anything is possible" track of the album. Very very meh. 2/5 2. Transform Man I wish they used similar sound as Amen, and not this hyper-digital harsh and flat sound. Cause music-wise, this is pretty cool. That is until the 5 minute mark or so, then it to me becomes kind of boring. 2.5/5 3. Two Minutes Cool sound. Clean and nice, Im like wtf? It doesn't sound off. It kinda sounds very crunchy and nice. But, still sharp hihats, and flat overall dynamics. But, cool sound nonetheless. Music is boring though, its ok but man, its a shadow of their former selves. 2.5/5 4. The Astral World Decent sound. Very clean and processed/produced. A bit sharp again in the highs though.. Music is again very bland and boring to me.. sad. 2/5 5. Remorse Cool. Reminds me of the old style. Another World-esque. Nilaya-ish. But. Wtf. It doesn't go anywhere. its like im listening to someone trying to be AP, but its not AP. So damn boring... 1.5/5 6. Into the void Probably the "hit" of the album. But its just alright to me. The melody gets boring very quickly. 2.5/5 7. All Systems Go Meh. 2/5 8. The Dream Whoa, what is this now? Sounds almost like some sort of Artifact303 collab. Does it sound like AP? Nope. Some sort of new Newschool artist on the rise?? Possibly. But, its AP. It just so happens that it doesn't sound remotely like AP. At least this track is somewhat interesting to me. First track of the album that I actually sort of went "hmmmmm this is pretty interesting". 3/5 9. Himalya Trash!! 0/5 I dont think this is an Astral Projection album. I think this is some cocaine derivative version of what AP is. It certainly isnt AP as I know them. And, to be sure, I welcome new things, new sounds, new formulas. Amen was one of those and I welcomed that more so than most AP fans did. And still do. But this I dont see what is Astral Projection about it. They shouldve renamed themselves into a new act, and released under a different name. Wouldve solved everything. 2/5 on a good day.

Okay cool yes that's you. Happy to see you, for the longest time I thought you had checked out. And we discussed Miranda on Facebook that one time. On amen I like every track alot except sticks and stones, 1000 years from today and anything is possible. I like them too but the others are so much better. But overall I love that album and I think it's the very best they ever did, overall. I don't find astral files to be very popular tbh, the tracks there are ok but it's certainly their worst album. -

You both reacted spot on... thanks for understanding. The world changes for good or bad, and we must in time adapt our priorities to not get burn out or a bore out: repeating to make the impossible happen is a silly thing and creates suffering.

20251104 TODAY MY NEW EP ALBUM "XCD1"

When is it dropping on Spotify bro? -
Let's be honest, Goa Trance truly emerged around 1993-94 and started dying in 2000, that's about 6 or 7 years of peak popularity. Then it came back around 2006-07, and now we are in 2025, that's almost 20 years of what we used to call new school Goa. Do you think Goa Trance evolved much in that time? After so long it's not surprising to see it decline, it's a natural phenomenon. Listen to a random Goa Trance album from 2023 and tell me how different it is from a 2013 album...

I see Utopia track was mentioned, I never understood why people like it, the main melody sounds so random, like when I used to make random melodies on Rave Ejay, I would come up with such melody, Utopia sounds so uninspired. - Yesterday

I don´t remember you ever having on Facebook. What about Amen, which tracks are your favorites? ON AStral Files, why don´t you like the tracks I emntioned, I find them very melodic and good. Astral Files is a popular album among the goa trance scene, so I don´t understand why you like only one track. https://ibb.co/GvPCXv6M This is how I look now This is how I looked earlier https://ibb.co/FbX9tgbn -
I don't really feel like getting into the pissing contest about how people (or kids these days) are listening to wrong music and listening to music wrong, but we can check some trends for sort of hard facts. One go-to place is IFPI's global music report. Right now the main site is acting up, but you can get a referring article or the pdf. For some possible key points: Music revenues as a whole crashed by about 50% from the late 90s peak (or "peak CD, no Napster yet") to the 2015-ish "how should we even get stuff" confusion low, but now they've actually made a new all-time high again. Nowadays the big money comes from streaming (51.2% subscriptions, 17.7% ad-supported, 69.0% together), but obviously not for everyone equally. Physical media is 16.4% globally, probably less in the US and similar countries. (You can find US stats separately.) Vinyl has outsold CDs since 2020. I still buy CDs and vinyl - for reliable hard copies and simply for collecting, but overall CD buyers are a small minority and people actually listening to CDs even smaller. That "I don't even own a CD player" boast was popular already 20 years ago. Today I know people who actually hoard CD/DVD/Blu-ray drives because their production is dwindling and eventually you won't be able to get any new ones even if you wanted. Anyway, streaming is how people get music. It's another story how "kids these days" listen to music. I'm not saying that everyone only checks six second video snippets, but I do think that swiping, skipping, shorter attention span and instant gratification are real trends. I'm obviously old and grumpy, but in my opinion psy-trance in general got a bit weird already in the 00s when it still insisted on 8 minute tracks, yet placed some crowd-hyping filter effect or fill in there every 20 seconds. It was different in the 90s when listening involved the effort of loading a physical disc, and a few minutes of gradual building was a thing, acceptable, or even expected. I don't know if I'm getting anywhere here but let's just say that goa, CDs, and goa CDs are on the losing side of major trends. Also, there is so much of everything that marginal stuff is ridiculously marginal now. I'm almost literally drowning in music and I'm buying it on physical discs. If I tried to follow even a fraction of all the digital stuff, RIP me. It takes me more than a month to process what I can easily get on a single Bandcamp Friday. I'll stop here because it's late again, but maybe I'll dedicate another message to Cronomi. Let's see.

As Cronomi is unfortunately about to disappear off the face of the Earth I am listening to, and yeah in many cases purchasing, their various releases. I will try to do some mini reviews of some of the ones I have missed. Portamento - The Portal Cronomi Records – CRONOMI005CD 1. White Dwarf 08:41 2. 48 Hours 08:05 3. The Portal 08:07 4. Monkshroom 08:41 5. Injected Spawn 08:17 6. Biosphere 09:24 7. Vitamin E 07:56 8. A Grain Of Sand 07:33 9. Controlled Experiment 09:12 This is such a cool album because it really nails the sound of early Goa, with tons of croaky acid, highly resonant synths and classic sawtooth basslines. It is incredibly old skool and yet the sound production sounds a lot more clean and modern. It manages to be highly energetic, highly melodic and highly acidic all at the same time. Very, very good. Do Cronomi a favor in their last days and BUY IT NOW: https://cronomi.bandcamp.com/album/the-portal If you don't they will actually destroy the CDs! No joke: 8/10

I have listened to the whole thing since I wrote that review and it is all well made but at this stage I think I prefer the Dawn CD to the Dusk one, which is probably not too surprising as I like their later stuff a bit better than Twin Sharkfins. I found this really interesting about the production in the bandcamp writeup: That's quite impressive there is no compression in the mixing stage at all. To my ears it doesn't sound like the sound suffers as a result of that.
