Thanks for vids. Damn I would love to see a pianist like that live someday.

That piece I posted has been running through my head all day. Such an overwhelming, powerful, orgasmic piece. And the end is just godly. If I could play like that I would do nothing else all day.

Bahamut @ Well, look little more for pianists in near from your place,it doesnt need to be Luganski,Lang Lang or some other to todays piano stars....there are bunch of great but not so known pianist that are playing awesome.....ok......Luganski is something special, but he plays so often that Im very shore that he play at least one time of a year close to you.... ;) Yes,I know what you mean about this piece, this end is so hard,my friend played it and after one year still had problems with last side.....but now I think he has it......do you play also?:)

p(sy)ayam@ I dont know how modern music do you want....well,here in Germany modern music is considered that was made in last 30 years....before then is still considered some late romantism,impressionism........ but it also sounds pretty modern...... ;) here are some examples.....

Impressionism @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKPBtZ0Zzok (also recommend piano version, but I think that you all know this..... ;) )

Late Romantism(modern) @

(its lo-fi I didnt find any better video but youll got the point...I adore this piece.....)

Modern (not in last 30 years) @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ht5qqE_e1UE...feature=related (part 2 is right at youtube)

Modern (last 30....) @

( this was performed and recorded at my academy,my friend composed it and friends are playing..... :) )

There are lots of other great composers in all this periods.....it would take lifetimes to hear it all...... :)

how about some thundering classical psychedelia

you can almost put a beat under it :posford:

if beethoven would've had access to synths he would've put the whole goa/psy genre to shame ;)

This is really good stuff, thanks for posting it and the other links, I'm giving them a listen!

any modern classical recommendations, ppl?

I really like Yann Tiersen, he's a French minimalist composer, who sort of combines classical music with French folk (so it's not strictly "classical"). It's pretty simple compared to most classical music, but the songwriting is great IMO and he uses a wide variety of instruments (accordions, toy pianos, vibraphone, banjo, etc) so it has a wide variety of different sounds. The melodies are actually somewhat similar to goa/psy melodies too.

I really get into the classic music before. but I think that goa/psy can't compare with classical music. Both think the music value evaluation to be high, but will be clear when they think about a part of the history? There is a relaxation effect when people listen to music of Mozart. This is proved by the clinical experiment. However, as for me ,"Ulrich Schnauss-Nobody's Home" can be relaxed.
