1. Artist: Dimension 5 Title: TransAddendum Label: Suntrip Records Date: February, 2013 1. Altair 2. Zarkon 3. Strange Phenomena 4. Return To The Source 5. Caprica 6. Symphonic Switch 7. Alpha Particles 8. Deep Space 5D (Thai Remix) de·vi·ant - deviating especially from some accepted norm : characterized by deviation (as from a standard of conduct) <socially deviant behavior> I think I'm a deviant. Me peeking into Joske's window seeing what he's got up his sleeve. I mean, what he's listening to. Yeah, what he's listening to. What did you think I meant? Whoa, whoa hold on...he's way older than me. It's not like I comb the elementary schools for unsuspecting prepubescent boys in hopes to lure them away from the twisty slide and ask them if they will fart on this sandwich I've got in my bag. That's messed up. And a waste of a perfectly good sandwich. Suntrip: "What the f*ck? We asked him for this?" Ok, so I'm not a deviant, not even close. But you will see why I might be exhibiting deviant behavior. Here we have a release by one of if not the greatest Goa Trance acts in history full of stuff you've never heard before. Their album Transdimensional was one of the most superb goa trance albums of all time with more melodies than you can shake a stick at. All wrapped up in some thick deep space atmosphere. Now I'm still not over my man crush on the Mindsphere and Etnica releases and Suntrip goes and drops this gem on me? Oh well, like a dutiful Mormon I just smile and say the more the merrier. But carrying on a relationship with three people may cause some to label me a deviant. Moving on from one album to the next like the goa whores we are can be signs of deviant behavior. Or the greatest party of all time. Said every single guy ever. Now I believe that with Patience From Heaven and Live in Athens 1996 the bar has been set in the modern era. Again. Ok first things first the artwork (by Fabián Arturo Jiménez Gally) is light and beautiful. Nice enough in fact that I would love a poster of it on my wall. Except my wife would probably tell me to take my hippy sh*t to the basement cause it clashes with whatever motif she's currently got going on. I swear all my sh*t is down there, it looks like a hoarder lives there. Secondly there are going to be comparisons to Etnica's Live in Athens 1996 and that's understandable. Both artists are legends and two great labels are releasing tracks that have never been heard or are ridiculously rare. The difference is that this is a single disc of unreleased tracks. To be followed by another disc of rare tracks that were only on obscure vinyls. Pretty smart too cause the minds at Suntrip know that some people already have those tracks so why jack them for some stuff they don't need and make 'em buy a double album? But you know you're gonna get it, so just set aside the 20 euro from your part time job as a fluffer and don't think about it. Look it up. So how is it? The most important label in today's goa trance has an incredible track record consistently releasing quality album after quality album. For some perspective, in the big leagues if a player hits .400 he is phenomenal. I think only one player in the history of baseball (not sure, I hate baseball...so f*cking boring) has ever had a batting average like that during his career. Well this player averages near 1000 over their 9 year run. Melodic goa trance is what they do and they do it better than anyone else. Now I could be the fanboy that I am and just tell you that this is their greatest release to date, and everything else pales in comparison. But that's not how I write. This is a great album with 8 tracks that you've never heard before. Melodic and old school to the bone with more of their trademarked atmosphere you crave. At times it hits hard and during others track lengths are measured in trippy light years not minutes. It sounds great which is another feather in the cap of Tim Schuldt. And there is no question that if you're a fan of D5 or goa trance than you should most definitely buy this. Maybe I got spoiled by the Etnica release, but I missed having an insert detailing what the story was behind the tracks. But that has nothing to do with the quality music so who cares? But it's not Transdimensional 2. How could it be? When you've reached the mountain top how much higher can you go? There's a reason these were unreleased and the ones on Transdimensional made it to the album. That album is an absolute classic. So much so that Suntrip (damn these guys are good) already re-released it. They knew. But they also knew that we as fans of goa trance have a hunger for unreleased stuff. If there is a possibility of good tunes out there that we haven't experienced then why not let them see the light of day? But please don't call these b-sides, because I think that title demeans what they are. Whether they made it on the album or not, we wanted them. We needed them. Good on you Suntrip, this is a fantastic release. Suntrip Psyshop Beatspace GoaStore Mdk
2. Artist: GoaTree Title: Akasha Connection Label: Neogoa Date: September, 2015 1 - Aura 2 - Neural Oscillation 3 - Akasha Connection 4 - Don't You 5 - Oblivion Planet (vs Somnesia) 6 - Invisible People 7 - Weekly Drive (GoaTree Remix) 8 - Order To My Chaos 9 - Artificial Intelligence "You know I love you don't you?" "What the f*ck are they doing up there?" "Promoter said showers are mandatory for party entrance. So they all jumped up there and won't come down." "Damn shame what the fat one is doing to that tree. Just a damn shame." And this is how GoaTrees were born. Probably. I guess...I wasn't really that attentive in botany class. And how could I be when there were so many hot chicks looking for that easy A? GoaTree is Lukas Bartosek from Slovakia which is somewhere near India I think (geography class had even more honeys in it). This is his debut album presented for free on the Neogoa netlabel (although not only net anymore, eh?) with artwork by the one and only Richpa. And it begins with a thumping good goa track (Aura) that I was rockin' whilst mowing the lawn. Good lawn mowing music for sure. Dats my whip! Straight gangsta! Husqvarna fo' life! Yeah, I'm 44 years old. I don't speak that way. Forgive my momentary lapse. The next couple of tracks bounce along nicely with some catchy melodies and I liked the breakbeat in Akasha Connection. Don't You has a repetitive chant (African I believe, but as I told you I was looking at the ladies so I could be wrong) that doesn't thrill me. So...do I? No I don't. Oblivion Planet wasn't anything special and Invisible People comes off as simple filler, limping along. Weekly Drive had a grand beat during the break which changed things up a little before it rocketed back into a hyper 4/4. Not bad. Order to My Chaos ups the BPM's to 160 for a high intensity workout and he closes with the downtempo/midtempo Artificial Intelligence. Is that a f*cking shanai? Again like a lot if the tracks on this album I'm filled with a large load of meh. What the hell happened? I've found his compilation tracks much more detailed and enjoyable than a good portion of this album. It's not bad at all, but he himself has set the bar high so expectations of course rise with it. Perhaps this could've been another EP release instead of an album where he branches out and flirts with different styles. The sound is great and listening to Aura tells me that he has the ability to deliver the goods. He just didn't seem to do it here. Free at Ektoplazm!

4. Hi, Rehallucinate is a DJ set, composed solely of modern versions of psychedelic anthems originally crafted by legends such as Man With No Name, Astral Projection, GNOTR, X-Dream, Transwave or Etnica. The first part was put together by Nois, the second one by Gamma. We are both convinced that it will be a great musical experience for both the seasoned and the fresh psytrance fans. It could make the first ones rehallucinate the musical memories of the past, and the latter realize what we were finding so exciting these past days. Have a nice listen
5. Neogoa Records is proud to present you our latest release, a full length album by The Maniac – Into Madness. Man behind The Maniac project is B. Deepak from India, who started producing Goa trance music in 2015, being inspired by both old and new Goa trance musicians and juggernauts such as Pleiadians, Prana, Green Nuns Of The Revolution, Cosmosis, Filteria, Proxeeus and Morphic Resonance, to name a few. In 2017. he made his first appereances on Timewarp Records and since than he published many different tracks on compilations and at his official Bandcamp page. His latest release and first under the Neogoa Records banner – Into Madness was in the making for last 2 years and it brings the best of The Maniac sound and idea. Complete album has been produced on a smartphone hardware and technology, which makes it unique when it comes to the releases we hosted so far on our label. On Into Madness album each track oozes with high-octane tempos and rich acidic textures spiced up with crazy melodies – a prefect combination to represent the dark mythos of H.P. Lovecrafts’ works which are an important part of this record and big inspiration for The Maniac music. All tracks written and produced by B. Deepak. Mastering by Igor Čeranić at Deimos Soundlabs. Artwork design by Ivan Parić at Neogoa Records. Available in all digital formats now + limited CDr (60 copies) - Shipping starts 4th December 2020. 6. Click here for bigger image. Artist: Various Album: Shaltu Label: Suntrip Records Style: Goa Trance Tracklist: Ra - Lifethread (09:30) Crossing Mind - Hydrophobic Visions (08:48) Nebula Meltdown - Mindstream Continuum (07:40) Shakta & Deedrah - Lepton Head (Part III) (Filteria's Z-Particle Remix) (07:52) InnerSpace - InnerSpace (11:16) Ephedra & Imba - Emergency Acid System (07:58) Shani Yantra - Fractal Memories (09:05) Ra - Time Current (E-Mantra Remix) (08:34) Sirius - Universe (07:24) Before I start with Shaltu, I'm gonna go few years back in the past to do some silly math. In 2008. they released 3 compilations and 1 album, compilations wins. In 2009. they released 6 albums and 0 compilations, albums wins. In 2010. they released 2 compilations and 1 album, compilations wins. In 2011. they released 3 albums and 0 compilations, albums wins. Are they gonna continue to stick with this interesanting 'compilations-albums-compilations..'' formula/scheme in 2012 I don't know but what I do know is the fact that you can't go wrong when it comes to Suntrip's music. They're continuously pampering Goa trance fans with great releases since 2004. and it seems they aren't planning to stop. Their first official release for 2012. is compilation Shaltu and this time they're presenting (alongside with old & already known Suntrip projects) some new names. In promo text they described what Shaltu means (Shaltu, an ancient Amerindian word for the helping spirits of dancing shamans) and I decided to skip some in-depth research of indigenous tribes of America (not gonna lie you here, I love almost everything that has something in common with history and ancient civilizations, but hey, I also love to be first one who posted review for this one here on Psynews). OK, let's go, first track is Lifethread from Norwegian Goa trance heavyweights - Ra (Christer Borge-Lunde & Lars W. Lind)and from the very beginning you can feel their trademark sound - little bells and melodies swirls around while basslines slowly and subtly prepares you for rhythm. I must say that sound overall is somehow different than it was on their super-awesome 9th album, this track sounds much fatter with extra depth. First (shorter) break comes around 5th minute and it's filled with nice melodies, second one around 06:30 mark is longer and in the background you can feel beautiful layers and growth of main melody. Peak of the track comes right after and it's great. I don't know when we can expect full lenght from Ra but if it's gonna sound like Lifethread than don't be afraid, it will rock! Stéphane Bèze is man behind Crossing Mind project and he has been pretty much active recently, besides his debut album The Holographic Paradigm on DAT Records in 2010, he released an EP last year on UAF Records and now he appears here on this compilation with his track Hydrophobic Visions. Track kicks off with nice intro and a bit slower beats with catchy effects in background, atmosphere in this one is super, nice melodies swims around and you can feel their warmth. We don't have some extra huge peak(s) here, especially because it relies more on atmosphere(s) and there is no need for big build-ups and ending of Hydrophobic Visions is nice and emotinal. Like. Nebula Meltdown is one man project from Finnland of Kristian Aro, man who already released on Suntrip's Temple Of Chaos compilation. Mindstream Continuum starts something like Hydrophobic Visions a bit more slower and beat comes with awesome and psychedelic bassline, effects in background reminds me on Kali track from Quatermass project which is one of my favorite Goa trance tunes from Pulse series. First break is followed with mystique female voice and 303's in background. Mindstream Continuum is much more darker than previous two tracks. Ending of track is just perfect, wobbling acid sounds and melodies are just great. So far my favorite track on this compilation. 4th track...woah, wait, what? Shakta+Deedrah with Filteria's remix. OMG let's hear it. Forget about slow and emotional intros, there is just small speech at the beginning and the beat comes like a storm, Jannis Tzikas knows how to start a fire for sure! Retro Filteria sound is back people, this remix just bursts with energy and raw power, Lepton Head's melodies are a bit reworked but the main theme is still here and it sounds - EPIC. Orginal is a classic, without doubt, but this one isn't something that will cut off the vibe of orginal, no sir, it gives more input and it does that flawlessly. The only break is around 5th minute mark and right after comes one of the most gorgeous climaxes, ever. Pure goa trance smasher, six out of five stars. On number five is InnerSpace with self-titled track and to be honest I had to use Google for this project because I never heard anything about this guy, so my friend Google told me that InnerSpace is Jörg Schemczyk from Germany and he has been involved in psychedelic trance as a DJ and producer through last 13 years. After Filteria's remix it's somehow ungrateful to be on number 5. Well, it seems that InnerSpace isn't somebody who doesn't know how to do some Goa trance, on the contrary he does it like a baws. 11 minutes of pure madness, perfect play with melodies and effects, great storytelling until 7th/8th minute, and than...BAAAM, one of the most great acid drives ever, pure psychedelic lunacy in absolutley positive way. Don't know what conclusion to give after this one, it's probably one of the best findings of Suntrip Records for sure, and probably many people will have an eye on this guy after hearing his work on Shaltu. Emergency Acid System is collaboration work between my dear buddy Nikola Petrović (Imba), owner of Serbian UAF Records and Belgian Alexandre Cohen (Ephedra). Track starts with short speech and acid effects, soon after comes beat and 303's starts to expand slowly. EAS doesn't have any bigger breaks and it's more straight-forward Goa trance tune with basic melody that come and go from time to time. Around 7th minute melody changes and it's followed by acid effects in background, very nice climax but it's shame it didn't last that much. Not bad track, but not good either (as previous ones). According to Suntrip's promo text Fractal Memories is debut appereance of Shani Yantra and probably that's main reason why my friend Google couldn't help me out with this one, so appologies because I don't really know who this guy is. There isn't any intro in this one, track starts like a hurricane and it's more melodic and brighter than previous one. Few nice melodies around 2nd minute, it reminds me on Eleusyn's work (side project of E-Mantra). Fractal Memories is pretty much fast and energetic track but it doesn't lead me anywhere, it got decent first half but after it all repeats and I can't say that I'm thrilled. It's a debut release so I'll give some credits to this guy. Number eight is Ra's Time Current, remixed by Emmanuel Carpus, better known as E-Mantra. Emmanuel is very busy man, he is releasing uptempo (on Suntrip) and downtempo (on Altar) constantly for a few years now and people might think productivity could affect creativity, but that's not a case with E-Mantra. Last year he released album on Suntrip and now he returns with remix for Ra's classic. There isn't some huge difference between orginal and this remix, both got great storytelling, smooth and dreamy atmosphere with technical approach to melody development, the only thing that makes difference here is E-Mantra's specific sound, many people likes it so I guess that remix will get a green light from Goa trance lovers, one thing is sure he gets a lot of green light from me. Last and final track is Universe from Croatian project Sirius who currently lives in Macedonia and man behind Sirius is Mario Ruff. If I remember well, last year I bumped on his works online but they were in downtempo genre so I didn't know that he's doing uptempo stuff aswell. Universe starts with pretty much fast beat and typical Goa trance basslines, few melodies in background slowly build up track towards the first break around 4th minute. Female(?) speech and rebuild-up of melody on the break is nice, but nothing spectacular, before it ends we can hear melody like on the beginning but slightly different. Not a bad track, but it's not my style, just because it got that overused-generic-goa-trance-formula which I don't like honestly. Conclusion - Shaltu is different than other Suntrip compilations, it's not that-much into sunny Goa trance like Energy Waves, but it's not that much into darker spheres of Goa like Temple of Chaos, but yet it got some of both and it gives even more. It's hard to give definition of Shaltu, just because the fact that we got almost 80 minutes of diverse Goa trance from new and old artists and some tracks got more warmth and positive feelings while some are much more darker (using this term carefully, don't want anyone to think that they repated vibes from Temple Of Chaos) and more acidish. My favorites are: Mindstream Continuum, Lepton Head (Part III) (Filteria's Z-Particle Remix) andInnerSpace. Lifethread andTime Current (E-Mantra Remix) are also great but I'm sure others will post enough of praise for thoose two. Hydrophobic Visions is also more than solid. Mastering was done as usual by Tim Schuldt and it sounds flawless. Artwork looks organic and it got warm colours and nice tribal motives which I like but that font is just awful. You can find this release and samples for it on official Suntrip website. Have a nice day.

8. Artist: Ubar Tmar Title: Early Fusion Label: Zion 604 Date: August, 2018 1. A Tale of Taketori (604 Edit) 2. Another Transform 3. I'm Shocked 4. Eternal Return (Early Mix) 5. 3D Heaven ('96 Live Mix) 6. Eejyanaika (Early Mix) 7. When the Light Is Gone (Original Mix) 8. Flying Saucer Landing (Live Mix) 9. E-Talk (Live Mix) 10. Cosmo Drome (Piano Version) Zion 604 has basically knocked everything they have released out of the park. Very consistent which is why this release surprised me. As if you didn't already you have to take this review with a grain of salt. I never cared for the music from this artist. He didn't have the melodies of others and I always thought of his as weird. This compilation of tracks confirms my beliefs. Like the DJ's father above says, it's not my style. This isn't floaty, melodic, or hypnotizing trance. Leave it to the Japanese to make something totally different. It's not bad it just isn't for me. And that's ok. It's rife with discord. It aims to antagonize, like it's angry at the listener. It sometimes goes in weird directions that are jarring or unsafe. There were parts I enjoyed in most tracks, but it was never sustained. Sometimes it was noisy just to be noisy. And don't get me started on the annoying level of Eejyanaika. It's definitely not your run of the mill goa release but what I can say is that I appreciate the varied directions in which he attempts to steer his brand of goa. So...I'll pass on this one. 9. Artist: Various Title: Goa Files Vol. 1 Label: Code Vision Records Date: May, 2017 1. Ultimate Xperience - The Night Creatures (III) 2. OOOD - Silence (2017 Reboot) 3. Goasia - Analog Steroids 4. M-Run - Alien Brain Train 2017 5. Celestial Intelligence - Phantom Dancer 6. Joyfull Natives - Gate Of Aliens 7. Miranda - Svarg 8. Omnivox - We Are Infinity 9. California Sunshine - Wonderland (2011 Edit) "It's so weird I've never forgot it." Well, repetition is a good way to remember things. But we'll address that later. This digital compilation arrived out of nowhere from a label that most would be hard pressed to say they had heard of. Regardless of that fact they seem to have gathered an impressive artist list. UX does what he's been doing lately and that's making long, epic tracks that straddle the psytrance goa line. This has a futuristic vibe with an ethereal voice and driving rhythm. Pretty good even if it ran a little long. I wasn't a fan of this reboot of the OOOD track. I don't know if the original artist was behind the reboot, but gone are the gravitas and melodic momentum that made the original such a bad ass. No offense to the artist, but this comes off as a weak Talamasca-esque full-on "ing" of a goa trance classic. The Goasia project fits into an alternative niche in the goa genre. Often people love them or hate 'em. They are definitely different then most of the goa producers today and this track is no exception. It swarms like a uh, swarm waging galactic warfare with a myriad of color. Outside of the lead melody though it's a little thin. Nice, but I would've liked more detail. M-Run has only one album to his credit (still waiting), but what a doozy it was. With that spirit this track is unmistakable M-run. Groove intact with sparkly goa madness throughout. One of my favorites here. Phantom Stormer blasts right out of the gate with an imminently danceable sound. Relentless in your face goa trance. Joyfull Nature is the sole unknown artist represented and this track starts off...well, joyfully. Not long after it assumes the mystical sound of goa beaches with a gentle flowing motion. Like a smooth introduction to the goa producers club. Not bad. Miranda is back (always a good thing) with a decent if not unremarkable effort. I liked the weird voice in the background, gave it an air of mystery. Omnivox absolutely slays with We Are Infinity a track with a boisterous bottom end. Closing things out is an older remake of Wonderland by California Sunshine. Never been a fan of this project and repeating the sample 12 times isn't going to help. The same sample. 12 times. That means on average every 43 seconds you hear this sample. Nephew please. The background sounds added to the alien feel (if you're in the mood to be funny and I always am it could also sound like cats) and this had the potential to be a creepy success. Had. It's a decent comp with 3 or 4 really good tracks and the rest are decent minus the two I obviously had problems with. Bandcamp Beatport
10. Here's some new tracks, hope you like 'em! Zenith - Black Alienation (Denstrow remix) Denstrow - Switch Gong - Master Builder (Denstrow remake)
11. Artist: Atomas Title: Cartesian Space Label: Classic Goa Trax Date: May, 2020 1. Conclusion 2. Cartesian Space 3. Goodbye Domingo 4. Transistor 5. The Ultimate Experience 6. Cartesian Space (Sagittarius Remix) 7. Wake Up 8. Angst 9. Skybar Suntrip continues to be a ray of sunshine when it comes to goa music. Besides the physical CDs they are releasing they also created this sublabel where they release old classic albums to make sure the artists get some money. Nice gesture. As far as the music goes, I've never heard of this Swedish project. But I have to say this is a GEM! If you love that silver little box and are a goa fan you have to get this. Their style is not layer intensive, but one where they create acid lines and tweak the hell out of them. Unlike a lot of acid trance that takes forever to get to its destination these tracks get to the point. There is real evolution on the fly. The first time I listened to this I had to do it again immediately. That 303 is in almost every track and they aren't shy with it. The whole album is like that. Sounds great and not a bad track in the bunch. Definitely a surprise and worth your time. Classic Goa Trax Bandcamp
12. Artist: Various Title: Trance Mix 5 Label: BMI Records Date: 1995 1. Hallucinogen - LSD 2. Akasha - Ace of Wands 3. Moog - Euromotors 4. Baas Complex - Sample Your Mind 5. Moondust - Are We Alone 6. Slinky Wizard - Wizard 7. Union Jack - Cactus 8. Binary Xperience - Penguin 9. Digital Island - Cosmic Ocean Is this what I think it is? No...it can't be... Retro video game Centipede emanating from a floating pedestal sink amidst the barren Arizona desert? That's right. Trance Mix 5 *cacophonous crescendo!!!!!* What else could it be? Now the first thing you're probably going to notice is the opening track. Never heard it myself, but people say it has potential so I'll give it a listen. Most likely won't amount to much. After that things are not what they appear. Baas Complex is merely the mind behind Color Box with a sinister if not repetitive track. Just FYI though...I try not to mix my swirling goa with samples of deficit reduction and job creation. Kills the mood. Moondust is just those crazy Germans from X-dream. Plus one Cosmix. And Digital Island? Oh, Boris...I'd know you anywhere. Nice thumping beat and Om Shivaya chants. So after the dust has settled what you have is LSD and some of the greatest names in goa trance releasing one off tracks under different project names. It can sound a little dated, but after all it is early goa trance. They're not half bad (nor would I expect them to be) and it's probably why this compilation is so valuable. Well that and the super cool cover. *snicker* Is that an Ivan Richpa original early work? Mdk
13. Artist: Various (Kinda) Title: Goa Exit Label: Subliminal Records Date: 1995 1. Martin Cooper - Fly In The Rajastan 2. Tomahawk - Xingu 3. Spectral - Trans O 10 C 4. Guarana Cupana - Red Aum 5. Zig Zag - Juno Transportation 6. Guarana Cupana - Syrinx 7. Martin Cooper - 303 Keops 8. Zig Zag - Global Subject 9. Tomahawk - Plastic Form Ok no secret this is mostly all the same guy. Most of his most memorable music was produced under the project Asia 2001 with a slew of great albums. Hell Suntrip just re-released one of his and goa trance's highest achievements with Psykadelia. This is some of his earlier work and like a lot of goa music from back then it sounds dated and thin. The tracks have plenty of good ideas and melodies, but the technology simply might not have been there to make this a standout. A couple of tracks benefited from remastering on Avatar's Amnesia back in 2005. If you're looking for some of his best work check that out.
14. Artist: Athena Title- Single Collection Label: Classic Goa Trax Date: October, 2019 1. Human Vox (Slave Labour Mix) 2. Croctopus 3. Xshattriy (Female Remix) 4. Human Vox 5. Future Space Travellers (feat. Prana) 6. U Are Alone 7. Woodwalking Man I loved the 90's. That was my decade. The beginning of the internet, cell phones, playstation...Super great. And the music? Awesome. I love what this sub label of Suntrip is doing here. Releasing classic goa trance that maybe only made it to vinyl eps or obscure compilations, but doing it digitally so that the artists can recoup some well deserved income. Everyone knows Miranda and her stellar work, well this was her side hustle. The first two tracks could be found on the compilation Goa Vibes 3 and they hold up well. Melodic goa trance to the fullest. If you wanted to hear Xshattriy (Female Remix) you either had to go to a party or own a turntable cause this baby was vinyl only. And you should hear it because it is bouncy good goa with liquid bass. The original version of Human Vox (actually the first four tracks came from the Human Vox Ep) doesn't appeal to me as much as the remix. Everyone knows Future Travellers made with Prana and that track is still a beast. It's on a bunch of comps so no real discovery here. U Are Alone has a techno feel, but doesn't really go anywhere. The final track Woodwalking is a mid-tempo goa track with some barking 303's. It has groove and saunter with squelchy leads and was my favorite track here. All in all some really good Athena tracks in one place that perhaps you haven't heard. The sound quality is also top notch. Bravo! Classic Goa Trax Bandcamp

16. Alright you sons of bitches, whats going on here? 2019 the year you went and sold your souls to the devil? Huh do a little trade with The Beast did we? Condemn yourself through wizardry to become yourselves, sonic wizards? Artist: Sykespico Title: Perspective Label: Suntrip Records Release: September 30, 2019 Tracklist:- 1. Great Light 2. Psycho Therapy 3. Trancologica 4. 6EQJE5 5. Concerta 6. Visit Earth (Live Mix) 7. Dance Float 8. Spacestation 9. Persimon Median project? Jaraluca? Xamanist & now Israeli bad bois Matan Levi & Nadav Elhadad who make up Sykespico? You fellas dealing in dark magic? I always knew these Bad motha's were bad. But now they join the team of artists who release albums that are just about damn extraordinary. Am I easily pleased or have the Goa trance artists of the day kicked it up a notch? Do we deserve music like this? Are we living our lives well enough to warrant a gift like this? Relax, because Matan & Nadav seem to think so. Expect Bravado, Gusto, Excess, New Worlds, Raw Tectonics & Volcanoes of Ecstasy. ~ 1. Great Light - Nothing that begins without a boom ends without one. Nothing. Remember that for the rest of this album and use the 2nd half of this track as your first and final reminder. I really did think this track was going to be chill. My word what an exciting track. 2. Psycho therapy - Ok so now we know what to expect and the boys start it off just as beautifully. An instant transportation into a world full of tranquil expectations. I already know the guys for their brilliant compositions in the breaks of their tracks. And Psycho Therapy makes sure I also know them for a great deal of other good things on top of that. 3. Trancologica - Starts trancey as heck. Is that Osho? I don't know what it is but Indian accents and trance, a match made by Brahma. Expect a lot of good trancological karma and extraordinary soundscapes coming your way for this track. 4. 6EQJE5 - I mean are we here to party or what. That's rhetorical, Just fuck. Goddamn. 2:30 is all you need to know you're about to listen to one of the best trance tracks created. 6EQJE5, remember that one if you can, it's for your own good. There's nothing I can say that would be better than listening to this track. 5. Concerta - The bassline of this track got me stoned which makes it hard to think about what to write. I got it! No I lost it. YES! No it's gone. A crazy good track with celestial melodies that warp around every part of your consciousness. 6. Atmospheres painted by RA float in the background of this track and when the kickdrum came in I realized I didn't know it wasn't there. Matan & Navad know how to create cool worlds with sounds, and flounce those skills in your face on Visit Earth (Live Mix). I can't call it a favourite because each track pretty much is at this point. 7. Dance Float - Aaaaah Haha its on baby. Did you all check in on time? Bring your passports? Remember not to bring more than 50ml of liquids that aren't in a ziplocked bag? Leave your aerosols at home? Because this space ship ain't waiting around. Boom fucking Boom man. A speed of light banger that gives and gives and gives. Special surprises for us everywhere. But how the song composes it's finale is the most special, like lightening strikes of energy this song rocks. 8. Like every track so far Spacestation gains momentum along the journey. But Spacestation decides to swing you between calm (By Sykespico's standards) and crazy atmospheres. As soon as you think the calm is winning the crazy spreads its tentacles of psychedelic euphoria open, slowly engrossing every part it's electrified world. 9. Perlimor Star If you didn't already realise the crazy amazing atmospheres that these guys are compelled to create, you'll soon learn (I haven't head stuff like this since listening to Ra!) This could just as well have been an album opener as well as a closer. Beautiful slow trance that grows bigger and bigger. That grooves up and beyond. Did I just get transported to a the beginning of a new beautiful world being created? No... I got transported to a land of soaring energy that dances across the galaxy. But good guess. ~ If we are going to call Constellation by MP a cross between Mindsphere & Astral Projection. And Jaraluca's fits into the category of Psylent Budhi, Morphic Resonance & Pleaidians, which I agree with completely. Well then i'm going to liken this to a love child between Ra, Jannis & yes, Pleaidians...They get around. I think Celestial Intelligence might have christened the little bastard. I don't know what to say. It's just excellent unexpected stuff. Its exciting and energetic and a whole bunch of other nice words. This will surely be my album of year. This might be the best album of trance i've heard. But Sykespico already knew that, didn't they? Time will tell if this album really is as good as I think it is, but so far 8 listens in nothing has changed other than my favorite tracks. Magic https://suntriprecords.bandcamp.com/album/perspective
17. Artist: Maan Title: Floral Cortex Label: Neogoa Records Date: May, 2020 1. Prelude: Havenless 2. Mother Moss 3. Instant Equilibrium 4. Re/Bells 5. Gardens With Flowers of Crazy Colors 6. The Wednesday Pond 7. Red Relic 8. Interstate Insects 9. Maven 10. Postlude: Antiquity Maan is Frode Ungar from Norway and this is his debut album. His Orbiter Ep from 2017 was very good as were his compilation tracks. Neogoa consistently releases quality goa trance and this is no exception. While not being exceptional at anything, it is extremely solid at everything. Ten tracks with the intro and outro being short sketches that had me wanting more. The goa gets started with Mother Moss and as the title insinuates this is more of a forest track with a goa feel. Loses its way a bit in the middle, but finishes strongly. Instant Equilibrium is an immediate stormer that feels very old school. Sounds like old X-Dream. It hardly deviates from its opening structure, but it's so bouncy and infectious I don't mind. I liked the metallic synth banging right out of the gate with Re/Bells and it maintains the goa flavor. The crystal clear sound and punchy bass of Garden With Flowers hits me immediately and the groove is similar to M-Run efforts. Most interesting track goes to The Wednesday Pond, sounding downtempo and progressive at the same time. Really a very zen experience. Red Relic combines a hammering bass and a frenetic synthline, but not a whole lot else. Insects is very high intensity with screeching synth leads and never fully takes a break, but keeps evolving. Maven closes it out with a super crisp sound and bouncy rhythms. Really liked the understated layers in this one. Like I said, not exceptional at anything, but great at everything. It's a solid goa album that I felt could've been better, but with numerous dalliances in other genres. I look forward to the next one. Neogoa Records Bandcamp

Tracklist: 01 - A Way To Regret 02 - Monkeys (Extended Remix) 03 - Theory Of The Ghost 04 - El.Es.Di 05 - Mahabaratha (Live Version) 06 - Dream Telepathy 07 - Secret Trip 08 - Flutes The long awaited new Artha album – Dream Telepathy is almost here (at least I can enjoy it before it’s officialy released by Cronomi Records since I recieved the FLAC files thanks to Ward and kind folks at Cronomi Records, so I feel obligated to throw out few honest words about this one. It’s not a secret I’ve been a huge fan of this kind of Goa trance music for a while and Artha is one of the artists that I always play and enjoy. Even the promotion has been a little bit obscure (especially because we’re dealing here with one of the most creative and innovative Goa trance producers in last decade), all true Goa-heads who are into this so-called new breed Goa-wormhole for more than few years, are familiar with the fact that Michał Bączek is making his second full-lenght album, especially after highly respected and acclaimed back-to-back releases – Fluori Dorby and Influencing Dreams (both released on his mother-label Cronomi Records). When it comes to Artha music and sound in general, there is no universal consensus, most of the time, people who are stuck into dreamy (or how I like to call it ‘Astral Projection-influenced‘ Goa, tend to bash or more politley criticise his sound, production or mastering, but still they somehow admire the unique approach and creative input, even it’s not full-blown melodic Goa trance chaos. In simple words, it’s Artha, or to be daringly honest if I may – a totally new level of Hallucinogen, just made in wrong times where the new level of Goa generation tends to forget how much Simon contributed with his solo project. Yes, it’ might be wrong to compare such heavyweight with Artha, but as a reviewer I have to point out that music on Dream Telepathy still sounds innovative, creative and technically almost flawless (and let’s not forget the six year-long gap between this and his last album. That being said, new album ‘Dream Telepathy’ comes with 8 new tracks (excluding the reworked version of legendary Maharabathara track) and over 70 music of trippy, but very likable Goa trance music. On the first listen, sound geeks might notice that audio-image of this album is slightly different than it’s processor, with more accent on the tiny details, passages in arrangement and FX moments which Dream Telepathy has a lot to offer. A family member of Cronomi crew, Mario, or to some of you better known as M-Run put a lot of effort to make this album sound more organic and less raw / kick-friendly. Still, it has to be previewed on bigger and better PA to understand this improvement a little bit better, but it’s just one of thoose details every fan of good sounding Goa music will know how to appriciate and in my humble opinion Mario did a great job here (but, it’s also a matter of taste and I’m sure many of you will prefer the Colin‘s mastering from the first album). So, the music? It sounds like Artha, perhaps a little bit more minimal with more focus on arrangement/technical parts, but still it doesn’t suffer of being chessy in terms of melody or, God forbid ‘trying so hard’ to sound too Goa with cheap oriental melodies. I’ll tell you a secret – it’s not how Michał or Cronomi roll. However, I feel that at some point, this release feels a bit rushed out, even it has it’s moments of brilliance and uniqueness and tracks such ‘El Es Di’ or ‘Secret Trip’ are proper gems and one of the reasons why this release might end up in all major ‘best of’ selections at the end of the year – when it comes to Goa trance music in 2016. Of course, you can’t except that whole album sounds unique from start to finish, but thoose tiny (as I called it ‘rushed out’) moments won’t spoil your enjoyment and I’m sure many of you are not nit-picking as much as I do. Personally, it’s hard for me to review each track, since all of them got a lot to offer – for example the opening track A Way To Target is already much more interesting than Dubber Nubber from his previous album, the revisited Maharabathara version will make you dance and my personal highlights such as El Es Di (duh, it’s LSD), and Secret Trip will probably please your aural sensors. Also, don’t miss relaxed Flutes (with some nice native Slavic themes appearing there for a breif moment) and technoid Theory Of The Ghost, perfect for all early 2000’s Goa astronauts – thoose tracks will become a true classics in the near future, I’m sure. Conclusion: In the end, Dream Telepathy gives enough of time to rejoice and deep within yourself invoke the feeling that Goa trance music is still alive indeed, without being scared of yet another 2 or 3 years period with mostly ultra melodic Goa music. If it makes sense, Cronomi knows very well how to distract the monopoly of melodic releases on this scene by offering enough of melody on their releases but without taking the fluffy-road. Dream Telepathy will require a lot of listens and patience since it's one of thoose albums where you have to devote a lot of time, but when it sinks in, you will be grateful. Being in the making for last 6 years, Artha and Cronomi will deliver proper Artha sound with couple of new moments of excitment and joy, but make sure to avoid hype, especially after reading this review because sometimes it becomes natural and easy to feel dissapointment with some minor things, even complete picture (or in this case this release) looks and feels good. If you enjoyed the previous Artha music, I'm sure this one will become your 2016 favorite. After this release, we have to give kudos to Michał and growing Polish Goa scene (with PsySutra and JaraLuca already released a bunch of material) Poland is becoming a nice incubator for talented and creative artists with healthy Goa-trance scene. Dream Telepathy also comes with wonderful Psara's artwork desing that once again cleverly avoids Goa clichés and offers interesting visuals and M-Run's gently, but very respectable mastering. Music & idea - 93% Sound & production - 83% Artwork & visuals - 81% Overall Score - 86% For more informations about this release, please visit official Cronomi Records website. Written by Richpa. 20. OUT NOW! https://bit.ly/FloralCortex After short break we're back again with another psychedelic Goa trance gem from the northern Europe entitled Floral Cortex. It's a debut album of Frode Ungar, a talented producer and musician from Maan project, which we already introduced on our Dimensional Gateway 5 compilation, back in 2017. The name (Maan) is derived from a special location in the south-west of Norway called Mån, a place where creativity and inspiration evaporates through the very pores of nature. With Floral Cortex, three years after the release of Field Quanta track, Maan is ready to take us on his journey once again, but this time through the deep & foresty atmospheres of biomechanical worlds where artificial creativity exists. As his music progresses, you will feel the connection between the organic and mechanical sounds, the neverending loop which greatly represents the extensive influences and styles found on the Floral Cortex ranging from ritualistic tribal and even norse pagan atmospheres towards more progressive and metalic Goa trance vibes, spiced up with forest and techno influences. Floral Cortex is scheduled to come out on 31st of May 2020 in digital and limited CDr format Pre-order at Bandcamp: https://bit.ly/FloralCortex Artist: Maan Album: Floral Cortex Label: Neogoa Records Release date: 31st May, 2020. 21. Artist: Clementz Title: Kretslop Label: Suntrip Date: May, 2020 1. Æ-Re-Stu 2. Big Rip 3. Inner Core 4. Spirit Dance 5. Voices of Helium 6. Distorted Angel 7. Rise and Shine 8. Outside This World 9. Music Machines Shall Inherit The Earth 10. Easter Hymn Actual footage of Hans getting coffee in the morning after releasing album. Clementz is Hans Henrik Clementz and he's from *checks notes* Norway? Really? I know during this global pandemic we've been quarantined away (well, most of the world because the dumb ass Americans apparently think the virus just disappeared because they wanted a f*cking haircut), but Norway is kind of on quarantine all the time isn't it? Tucked away in a corner of the world you don't really hear what's going on over there. What are they known for other than beautiful scenery, polar bears, and the northern lights? Actually that's enough. Well add goa trance excellence to the list because it ain't just Ra form the snowy north anymore. Kretslop (how come I can't make that f*cking o with the damn line through it!?!) means circuit in Norwegian I believe. This first half of this album is extremely intense. Acid, layers, and big booming kicks. Æ-Re-Stu is a fantastic opener illuminating how vast and potent this music is going to be. Big Rip is certainly has all of that. Huge and powerful it also has its delicate touches making this the ultimate banger. Inner Core harnesses the same energy and is relentless, and even though Spirit Dance allows you to catch your breath in spots, it has a very danceable melody. Infectious really. But if you thought you were going to have a break, well that myth is shattered by the absolutely bombastic Voices of Helium. Even though it's the shortest track on the album it's got layers of spirals and power to make this an instant anthem. Like the Suntrip promo says they focus more on the melody side of things during the second half. Outside This World feels like a bit of a let down. Remember in junior high dancing to the jam and then the dj plays a slow song and the people mostly leave the floor? Kinda like that. Well, Music Machines and Easter Hymn brings them back with their very bouncy melodies. Congratulations to Hans for a very good debut album and one of my favorites this year. Highly recommended! 22. Artist: Todra Title: Dust From The Past Label: Unreleased Goa Records Date: July, 2020 1. Liquid Sun 2. Sacred Whisper 3. Halloween 4. Heavy Ride 2 5. Dead End 6. Viber 7. Escaping Spirit 8. Dreamatic 9. Spanish Fly Releasing music from the past has been around well, since there was a past. Sometimes it's done to capitalize on a moment, drop in for a quick cash grab, and then there is that awesome unearthing of something great. DAT Records has been instrumental in bringing back the past with numerous high profile releases that are damn near legendary now. Thanks to the pandemic a lot of labels are focusing on their digital side of operations. Todra was an Israeli duo who flew under my radar certainly. I knew of their debut album Figure of Sound however it didn't blow me away and I didn't give it much thought. But this is pure gold. This was to be their second album (unreleased) that was literally left in a drawer gathering dust. Thankfully it is now free to be heard. I find this to be a wonderful mixture of late 90's psytrance while still hanging on to the goa flavor of the mid 90's. It's electric with a futuristic feel with a full, rich sound. It's thumps along with driving rhythms, assorted squelches and screeches that appear to come from every direction, and well timed breaks that allow the music to breathe. It's extremely psychedelic music that then surprises with nimble goa melodies sacrificing nothing. The attention to detail is great and even though I knew it was something special when I first heard it, repeated listens only confirmed it. Like 1998 Krembo style psytrance? They got you. A fan of futuristic GMS weirdness? They got you. Guitars that don't sound like a hunk of annoying cheese? They got you. This release is part Eon Project, part Four Carry Nuts, part GMS, and part Tim Schuldt. Highly recommended! Unreleased Goa Records Bandcamp
