1. Take the text out of the context of a casual users forum on the internet and it can sound wrong. I am not speaking to scientists in this forum, I am speaking to the laymen, or casual observer. I hope that I do not always have to state the obvious here, but it appears that I do.
2. Scientific sudies are not wearth reading unless, and only unless, their results have beed duplicated by other, non-affiliated scientists.
3. #1 Rule when communicating with a Mac user, don't EVER question the supieriority of their product....
4. Many producers layer multiple sounds on separate tracks right over the bass drum.
5. Definitely music for a dysfunctional world. Makes me smile, but like most pop, I would never want to listen to it much.
6. Bullpucky! What shirt costs 100 euros? My mom or dad would never give me that much for a shirt. AND if that's how bad your math is, you should use the money on a math book.
7. Psynews isn't very active for two reasons" 1. The internet in general is becoming more sectioned off by companies and organizations like Facebook who keep their users from searching for new sites. This trend is not new and has been reported in tech-focused magazines before, but the result to old-school sites like Psynews is that fewer and fewer new visitors will spend time on the forum. 2. Psytrance is no longer the 'it' genre. It has been replaced by dubstep or clubby crap passing off as electronic. This is more true in the US then in Europe, but I think that it is worldwide generally. You could advertise on Facebook, I don't know if it would work though.
8. Use the search engine Luke. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoover_sound
9. ...and here we have real gabber http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=OjepjKV6ZB0&NR=1 made for a young, and exclusively male audience - note the ever-present 'hoover' sound and the...(ehm) ...vocals
10. Just to add more confusion...here is a track I have on a CD... It says 'Gabber Until the End', but it isn't really gabber....'cause it don't got the sped-up vocals... It is cheese though, made by 18-year-old kid... I liked gabber because of it was over-the-top hardcore you could never dance to for long (or at all). Hardcore is more serious, made by people who claimed to be criminals... Tekno is the Euro version...although I don't know what the girl behind www.nwtekno.org would say They never got it in the NW....
11. Well I think that Islam and freedom of speech just don't mix. You can not have people who will be violent and unwilling to accept criticism in the same place as people who want to practice true freedom of speech. It's really is true of all religions. Harboring radicals and what Sartre called 'dictators' has been going on for thousands of years within the confines of religious groups. The unwillingness of people to maintain flexibility and reason is no justification to curb the freedom of expression. Furthermore, pandering to one religion or another will not help, ever. I sure would not accept a public post to a country where a radical religious sect had any hold of the population.
12. Sounds totally different from anything done today- again, long spacy introduction, great analog gear, and techno inspired sounds (trance and techno where so close in those days) Rising High was known as a trance lable but today I don't think it could exist with the amount of variety on its releases.
13. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvWzFLq2D9g&feature=related The above track was called 'trance' when it came out. The epicly huge reverbs; long, soft intos; and quiet female vocals were all common in their day. Also notice how the beat comes in and goes out. That is not done any more.
14. The distinction is slight to the vast majority of people, but to the small group of devoted listeners the difference between tekno and gabber is HUUUUUUGE. Also, hardcore and techno are strongly defended by the purists who will argue against any association with any other style.
15. There you go. Tekno will live on forever in the place it was invented just like Bluegrass will live on in the blue hills of Appalachia.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Appalachia
16. It is illegal to smoke within 20 feet of the entrance of public buildings in America. Glad I never started smoking, growing up I never met a smoker that recommended I start so I am proof that the ad is accurate.
17. haha! wow, that track sounds old! Vicks and sticks lets dance to tekno! lol Next the hoover sound will be all the rage again.
18. The stuff falling into the water is regurgitated food because of the seriousness of the psytrance.
19. 'tekno' or tekkno originated in dutch countries, I'm surprised you don't know more. It is old, from 1991-1992 and, yes harder and rawer than the German-American techno it derived from. It influenced the 'Hardcore' scene in America and elsewhere and I think it is mostly dead today. Mostly released on low-buget vinyl, it is hard to find nowadays.
20. In nature, when new parasites develop, it is often many generations until the parasite adapts the delicate balance so that the host survives to carry more parasites. ^ the parasitic bee fly caries a virus blamed for colony collapse syndrome
21. I took this on the trail by Multnomah falls thinking it would make a good desktop.
