  1. I'm really flattered that I stirred up the mood enough to have a a new topic opened because of a thread of mine in another topic. I don't consider all of the releases that I mentioned to be modern. Since I started listening to psy 7 years ago a release from 2002-2005 is kind of old school to me since it was the beggining of a new genre for me personally. For modern day goa Suntrip is where I get my fix and thats all I need for the Goa side of things. I also agree with what Abasio said about what ever time it is that you found the magic will be the best memory for the rest of your life. When you discover new music its magical and nothing can compare to the first parties of first abums that you listened to. Its the same for everyone whatever year it might be.
  2. I guess that you didn't pickup on the sarcasm in what I wrote. Wow you really think there has been no essential releases in the last 6-7 years? Sucks to be you. I'm still enjoying the music every year. I only started to listen to psy around 2002, so according to you I have probly heard nothing essential.
  3. I guess that your taste sucks compared to mine
  4. Add: Psysex-Come In Peace (6 years old woops) Protoculture-Refractions Principles Of Flight-Chaos Opera (already essential) Panick-Lab O matic ( loved this one) Alien Project-Aztechno Dream (2002 I think) Braincell-both Transformation Of Reality & Frequency Evolution Astrix-Eye to Eye (2002 again) Xerox & Illumination-XI Eskimo-Take A Look out There I really loved the output from HOM-mega around 2002-2005
  5. The most annoying thing about these topics and all the others alike it is that all of or most of peoples reccomendations for must have albums are all the the older ones, like from 2001 and before. That shit is so annoying. Its always the same Hallucinogen release or Koxbox or Pleiadians. How about some newer stuff for those of us who weren't 30 years old in 1997. I'm sick of hearing about the same old releases every year. Here are a few psy releases from the past 5 years that I think are essential Cosma-Nonstop Penta-Horn Please Scorb-Ipso Fvcto Protoculture-Circadians Xenomorph-Demogorgory Of The Obscurants Digicult-Out Of This World U-Recken-Deeper Into Man Solar Fields-Earthshine Sensient-Antifluoro The Commercial Hippies-If You Cant Stand The Heat....
  6. Kindzadza all the way. Both of his albums are top notch.
  7. Eskimo-Baloonatic part three, there was part one and then there was part two and then part three was supposed to be a collaberation with Eskimo and another different artist on each track. It was supposed to be released in 2006 and now it's 3 years later and still nothing. Last thing i read was that he was working on some kind of side project with Void experimenting with indie and psy together.

  9. Stopped it a while ago actually, it was really ridiculus to be cutting them all out, and the covers became to beutiful to ruin with a scissors.
  10. And these two were reorders. All of my older digipaks are slowly being replenished so I can keep them in the original condition. I use to cut them all out with a scissors to fit them into the cd case.
  11. Yesterday in the mail:
  12. I guess that would be accurate, but I don't listen to much rock at all. Call me close minded but I really don't give a fuck about any other type of music outside of the electronic realm.
  13. Afgin-Astral Experience
  14. I love the sounds of the samples, it sounds to me at least very melodic without fluffy cheesyness
  15. How many have heard of this artist? I just bought this cd about a month ago. I guess I would classify this as minimal. Though I dont really have any thing else in my collection that sounds like this. The basslines are very similar, but yet I really enjoy this type of sound. Any comments on how to classify this or other artists with a similar sound would br greatly appreciated.
  16. For me, its Goa, Prog, Full on, Psychedelic, Dark, Experimental, Ambient/chill out. Simple as that. For me a true psychelic trance sound that wouldnt be catergorized as full on or dark would be the glowing flame sound, just raw powerful psy trance, so something like that would be catergorized as psy trance separate than full on or dark psy.
  17. Just saw this one in the coming soon section of psyshop!! http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/pld/pld2cd037.html
  18. wtf? I hope this isnt going to be the album cover. Thanks for the update though, i never think to check on myspace because I deleted my account a while back
  19. This shit is so wickedly sick, this is the type of psy that is actually not dark or full on or goa or prog. This is my defintion of pure psychedelic trance. My exact style and taste in electronic dance music. Im fucking loving it. Turn it up loud!!!! :posford: :posford: :posford: :posford: :posford: Some of the bass lines in here kind of remind me of the bass line in Kox Box-Side effects
  20. I really enjoy the Ultimae sound that comes from the various artists. The releases they put out are some of the few ambient/downtempo releases that I buy. Most of the music that I dig is full power so I enjoy listening to the Ultimae catalogue to relax or even at night when it peacefully puts me to sleep faster.
  21. Any news or updates on a new Protoculture album in the works? Its been about 3 years now so I was just wondering if anyone had some info on him.
  22. I know exactly what you mean. I am back in the good ol' u.s . of a. now and the people here are so brainwashed by whats on the radio that when I try to explain things to them or even attempt to let them listen to psy they cant be reasoned with and everybody and i mean everybody thinks all electronic music is techno. They will say something like isnt that the 90s music that people used to listen to. They are very simple minded fucks who are not even patient enough to give music a chance with no singing or a lack of traditional lyrics. They wont even give it a minute listen before discarding it as boring or to repetitious, no chance to see where the music might go it they would open their minds a little bit and let it journey through the sounds. They would rather hear lil wayne talk about gold teeth and what bitches he can get at the club, and what jets he can fly here or there. They need shallow words in their music to provide their thoughts for them, rather than experiencing beutiful music with no boundries. Now thats a sad truth that so many people are mindless robots who are being controlled by comercial music and all along they have no idea about it.
  23. Maybe I was generalizing about the Japanese psy scene when I opened this thread last year, maybe it wasnt the lack of good artists or creativity, but there is certainly something missing, some magic that was there for the first few years that I lived in Japan, or maybe its just me. When I got used to Japan it wasnt so amazing anymore, even though it is a pretty neat counrty to live in. But at alot of the parties, especially in Tokyo it seemed like there were alot of Japanese people who were attending the parties that were just there to be seen. Like the popular cool kids. Look at me I showed up so Im cool. Alot of people wouldnt even dance or were not that much into the music. When I go to an event its all about the music. But I guess that everyone doesnt go to a psy event for the same reasons.
