Well, to be hounest, i realized and discovered lots of things after this summers experiences i had.. So, this deep and more detailed sound will follow the filteria sound aswell (but with the big melodies ). But Kob is more experimental, not as melodic. Nemo: As i prety much hardisc record nothing its extreamly hard to have an online project. But if you come to Stockholm, you are welcome for a studio-session I can add, that the filteria album will probbly have more 303-lines Take care all PS: WTF is wrong with myspace?I can't write comments (It says page expired or some shit like that) And 75% of the times i can't log in Is this site always this buggy?

Thanx guys I get inspired I might be able to make an album with this new kob project. We'll see. I have also made plans and sounds for a third filteria album. Yes, it will be lots of big melodies I feel that I am still not tired of that "style" and its defenetly needed in our scene. There will ofcourse be changes from Heliopolis, but you will still be able to recognize that its Filteria material. Looking forward to a loooooong swedish winter with lots of music-making Jannis

Hi I have this new project called: Kob In the beggining it was meant for more "acid stuff" but now changed into a total new direction. I am very excited about the new tracks, as they sound like nothing i've done before. The issue is now which of the kob tracks to chose for the new suntrip compilation, so i would like to hear what people think. Actually, after reading some of: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modulation_(music) I got abit confused . In my psytrance and synth-world modulation was allways sound-manipulation in some form. For instance: the first track: unfiltred. If you take the sound that comes after 29 seconds and follow it for about 30 seconds (or even 10 seconds that is), you can notice it changes in frequency etc. The same goes for the first climax: The sound that comes 2.15-2.16 and gets FM-tweaked (the FM stands for frequency modulation actually ). That is modulation (in my world atleast).. Key changes: Like you said: Rotate to vibrate in the end. But even there, the sounds get modulated (tweaked) while there are keychanges going on.. So in conclusion: i am abit confused for the moment Still (for me anyway) modulation and keychanges are 2 separated things.. And i don't mind bad critic as long as it constructive and i can learn something by the rewiev . I read loads of rewievs on sky input and saw some people complained about some stuff. I tried to change some of that in this album (for instance. better connection between the melodies, and better melodies in general).. SkeletonMan is meaning by modulation keychanges.. Like say for instance, the bass keynote is D. Then it changes to F .. That is modulation in his description. The correct term however is keychanges. Modulation actually means when you tweak say: the cut-off and the resonance or make a Lfo-knob move, That is modulation Thanx for comments. I enjoy reading them

Thanx very much for the comments Seems like people enjoy, which makes me happy Actually, there is a big difference. Kob is far less melodic. Its pretty much only 1-2 melodies in each track. It based more on weird sounds etc. You have to hear the entire track. Perhaps i was stupid who showed the ending of the tracks I am abit tired of all the melodies for the moment and want to take a break from filteria. However, I still want to make music, so this suits me perfect Also, i would like to add, that all the kob tracks won't just be in this "acid"-style.. Hello all I wanted to make something more "acid" oriented, and decided to make a new project. its called: KOB. KOB stands for: Kind Of Behaviour So far i have 2 tracks. I found it already in the manual it says the following: (this is under the global menu) PrgChange Determines the way MIDI program Change messages are processed. - If "sound" is selected program changes are used to select Sound programs for the instrument that recieves on the corresponding Midi channel. - If "multi" is selected the whole Multiprogram is switched by programchanges, that are recieved on the Global MIDI channel. - If "combined" is selected, instrument programs can be changed by using the intrument's channel, the Multi can be changed by using Global MIDI channel. This means that any instrument that receives on the Globan midi channel, can't be changed individually. The Q recognizes the rogram numbers 1... 100 (on zero-based midi senders: 0-99. To select a different bank use the LSB message (controller #32) Hope this helps

Hi mate First of all, how do use the instrument? In Single mode (where you only can use one patch at the time?) or in multimode where you have 16-part multitimbrality (you can play with 16 channels simultaneously) In my case i always use the multimode. That way you never have to do any program-changes etc. So you dedicade one multi-mode slot for each track (and you have 100 of them). I change the instrument settings from the synth itself. It gives much more control. Have in mind that with the multimode, only the first 4 patches/sounds get their FX but you can route the rest of the sounds to FX 1-4 So to be hounest i never did a program change, cause i haven't had the need to do so.. So i just write: track 1 have multimode slot 3 (or something).. and i change it from the synth everytime i open that particullar track. But if you do wanna do programchange its in the global menu.. I will check my manual later and get back on that issue If something is not clear, feel free to ask Riton: if the question was for me, i use it mainly for the those big leads and also for pads/strings. The only thing this baby can't do very well is bass-sounds (atleast i can't program any good bass sounds on it)

I think its the sound itself on the doepfer i am not too excited about. I had a doepfer system for a month, but to be hounest, my knowledge was very limited back then, so i couldn't really use it like i would have used it today. I can't remember how the FM sounded on the Doepfer. I will check it out. I can see nowdays that the analog synths are more expensive then 3 years ago. And the prices just keep going up. I prefer analog over digital/(and software) any day. But thats also something very subjective. If you can find a Pro-1 for 350$ then buy it. Defenetly. I bought mine for 6500kr (about 550$) and sold it for the same price. The same goes for microwave. That was extreamly cheap The only problem with the pro-one is the tuning of the machine. Nightmare Thats why i sold mine..

I have both a JD-800 and a JD-990. Except some more possibilities like Osc sync, analog feel, a few more waveforms there are not many difference. However you can expand it. And there is an Vintage Expansion for JV-1080, but you can use it with the JD-990. When you enter this card into the 990, you get 256 (or something like that) waveforms. Like: Tb-303 saw, mini moog saw, mino moog Square etc etc. Personally i use the JD-800 as a controller for JD-990. And it works super fine The midi is kind of crappy.. with the sysex.. bleh Moving over to Korg Prophecy. Indeed its a lovely synth, but not very user friendly. I had big troubles with the interface, so i sold it. And the Z1 is not as raw (like someone else mentioned). I can't really understand why, since it said the both have the MOSS technique, same fx etc.. The machines i enjoy the most are defenetly the Korg ms-20 & ms-50. I use them in combo. I love the filters!! Screamy stuff.. And you can route in there whatever you like. I recommend them.. Also the Waldorf Q is one hell of synth.. Spindrift: The doepfer modularsystem sounds very much like the Doepfer MS-404 (analog basssynth). Its not that exciting sound. But sound is of course very subjective..
