  1. this is gonna be phat. their last party kicked ass. people there weren't fuckin 16yearold noobs or anything. and i played in the chillout. and im FUCKING AWESOME. or something.
  2. when i've played at parties, chillout, i've played a track or two from "Amelie from montmarte" movie... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0211915/ it's got accordions... quite traditional folk thing, though not sure if it's uhm, specificaly some countries folk... i love the soundtrack though. very nice. "le jours de tristess" track is really nice. there's a version with vocals aswell... on some other movie... that's also really nice.
  3. im looking forward to sienis album. but it's still along way off, although tracks are finished
  4. Yeah i guess i could second that in a sense. it totaly depends on what type of effect you want from music. I've made so much hypnotic effect-music stuff lately, where i just get lost making it and listening to it, that i've come to upriciate the value of groove more. Contrasts and opposits rock.
  5. I think i make it quite clear above just scroll up EDIT: or look here: i won't use any "words" like 3/5 or "Triplets" or stutter or anythign coz it just confuses everything up since apparently there are tons of definitions. and arguing which one is right is just blaargh although, does anyone know the correct one? and can back it up Logicaly?
  6. http://dasexperiment.no-ip.org/~verb/music...b_-_kraut_1.mp3 that a little thing i fiddled with one night
  7. personaly, i think shpongle makes sense hallucinogen makes sense, partly because when he started using that name, there weren't 3 million artists with drug-associations in their names as there are today. Personaly i can't understand all the Psy-stuff like. im just gonna mindstorm here PsyMan PsyForce PsyCraft PsySpace PsySide PsyLife PsyMushroom PsyMotherfuckingYah PsyBitch how many fucking Psy are there out there by now? i get them all mixed up. I call myself Verb. and it actualy means something, and it just so happens that i can greatly identify with all that it means. so it makes sense, and also my music is kindah like verbs anyway. and so am i as a person.
  8. im very picky about music, but i dance to virtualy anything. if theres a groove on a commercial, i'll shake it. i don't see why not. it's fun to dance. it's not fun to not dance "just because". only time i stop dancing is when i feel like it, not when some opinion pops up and tells me "it's not worthy of my ninja.dance.moves!"
  9. Wonderful! thanks! Procs uses it yeah. just never occured to me to look in my own backyard i've come to use shuffle in basicaly every track i've made in a while now, and it gets difficult if you go to fast. but at 130-137, a bit of shuffle is Grrreat i think. im problely going to fuck around some more with it though, having a track swtich between shuffle and straight.
  10. i think rinkadink is decent full-on. im not too keen on anything else though. there's some i enjoy just because it's so god damn wellmixed and mastered, like psycraft - computech album. although it's a bit loud on the high frequencies for my taste, but i know it sounds terrific in well, normal speakers and PA systems... it's just not for my monitors. i bet it was cooler before mastering.
  11. i don't really know what staggered beat means either i'll try to illustrate like this instead not shuffle: D= bassdrum B=bass |= uh, well, nothing really. just to mark out hehe 1---2---3---4---1.... D---|---B---B---D---|---B---B---D---|---B---B---D.... while Shuffle is sorta like... 1----2--3----4--1.... D----|--B----B--D----|--B----B--D----|--B----B--D....
  12. Hi, this is like the second attempt, i was trying to start this thread a week ago, but for some reason, something got screwed up Im kindah snowed in on shufflethings nowdays. listening alot to Trentemöller and various shuffle-techno minimalist stuff. and i've personaly made a couple of shuffly psytrance track lately. but im wondering if there's any of this released? XV Kilist - Xv Kilist album is kindah shuffly a track or two. but other than that i can't think of any that utilizes this wonderful instant-groove maker thing especially not any new stuff i've come across... Do you know of any shuffle psytrance?
  13. i absolutely have to agree about slinky wizard! wonderful stuff. isn't bus and slinky wizard the same dude though?
  14. im glad i found this topic, im gonna look into all your tips here unfortunatly i dont have any of my own. well maybe aphex twin - vordhosbn or some of squarepushers things like "time borb"... which is my personal favorite of his things... but i dont know if that fits under any kindof DNB genre. but it's got that sorta steady snaredrum thing and it's as psychedelic as anything can get.
  15. Hello! Those who listened to my previous tracks i posted here, (http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=31715) well, i decided id post a few previews of my 2005 demo here, since the feedback on kenosis (180 bpm) track was good so here's my 2005 demo, some previews, and a full length track again! track 02 and 08 aren't well, im still considering remaking or posting the full version here still. so i haven't made any previews yet. and for those intressted, the 02 track is 172 bpm, and 08 is 192. but i'll post here again when i've decided what to do with them. all tracks were made during summer-autumn and beginning of winter 2005. Verb - Body Mechanics 162 bpm Verb - Up'N'Running 157 bpm and the fullengther: Verb - Verbalize (Tribute to Sienis) 165 to 168 sienis is a good friend of mine and one of his tracks basicaly got me going for fast trance, from previously only been focusing around 120-145 bpms... Verb - Making Progress 170 bpm Verb - Turning 161 bpm Verb - Thoughtmuncher 184 bpm and as in my previous post, im still looking for labels / party organizers intressted in this kindof thing Enjoy!
  16. thanks! yeah ive made alot of music, and in the fast area i've made well, a demo with 8 tracks (9 counting kenosis) where the slowest one is 157, and the fastest one is 192 (which is as far as i've been able to make anything... up at that point the fast hihats are almost a tone...) but i think ive only made 3 tracks that are above 180. Kenosis, 180 ; Thoughtmuncher, 184 ; Tao-dancing 192. i've stayed around 160-174 somethereabouts. but mostly i make things around 130-140 or 148-160 but thats just talking generaly about how it's been going lately, i have no idea what the future's going to look like... i think it's really a creative pleasure making fast trance. there's no space for thinking left, so it all comes out really... smoothly. alexunderstands.com is a friend of mines webpage. im "borrowing" his space for a while
  17. Thanks and those counting things are kindah, well, ironic i think they sound so "made up" and so.. uh. archetypical with a caricature thing that... hehe well. i guess i didn't really imagine anyone would take it seriously but i should've thought of that too. it's kindof my sense of humour anyway, so many layers of irony that you don't know what is what anymore the trackname of kenosis was first (but in swedish) "how far can you go?" and it was a sortof tryout at how far you can push something, without well, musicaly distorting it or soundwise distorting it.
  18. haha, yes i know what you mean. and i can well imagine you're not the only one to think so. gets pretty cheezy, i think it's the most fluffy track i've made.
  19. Okay, i'll look into those record labels and that, thanks
  20. Thanks! though i don't think they're "meant" to be funny really. except maybe the first 2 mins of kenosis. ...not that i know what they're meant to do come to think of it... but fun is a relative thing so.
  21. Hello! my first post, and haven't actualy come across this forum before this past minute or so, and got a tip from a friend of mine, Moai. thanks! i just posted 2 tracks on isratrance, and i want to post them here too... so here they are... http://www.alexunderstands.com/verb_-_kenosis.mp3 http://www.alexunderstands.com/verb_-_flying_cowboys.mp3 Kenosis is not people with musical digestive problems. this will clean your bowels for you (180 bpm straight through) but i think flying cowboys is something for everyone! (147 bpms.) maybe im wrong i would love some feedback on these, such as where to turn with melodical psytrance these days... because i can only find killargh-trance labels... but im not very good at looking Looking forward to seeing more of this forum, mostly im a reader though. but maybe i'll post some
