Do mini-jack connectors belong to the past ?
nomis replied to McKoy's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Hi McKoy You should be aware that headphones only deliver direct sound to your ear with no reflections from a room, because there is no room. This mean things will sound different when played back on speakers. You can read some information here: http://www.midnightwalrus.com/Canz3D and here http://www.ohl.to/audio-tools-and-thoughts...for-headphones/ Professional soundcards usually split stereo signal in 'Left and Right' with seperate plugs for each, furthermore they are often 'balanced' meaning that each plug carries 3 signals. If that is the case you got a good soundcard but can not use the adapter. What i would advice you to do is buy a little mixer with at least 2 balanced line inputs (one for left and one for right), 1 headphone output, and of course outputs for speakers. This way your headphones get a dedicated amp with the right impedance and you can easily switch between headphones and speakers or both at the same time. I can recommend the mackie 1202 or 1402 http://www.mackie.com/products/1202vlzpro/index.html The only way the adapter can cause negative effects is if you are using a defect or wrong one. A proper working adapter does not introduce a permanent quality reduction. Of course good quality lasts longer i.e. Neutrik. Bom -

Good stuff i like it, nice clear bass, original treatment of the lead sounds, could be a bit more floaty, i think all the tempo changes are a bit disturbing to the expression but then again theyre pretty funny too.... anyway very pro stuff -

Truth is there is no simple answer and being an experienced musician already there are probably lots of things you already know. http://forum.isratrance.com/viewforum.php/forum/2 http://www.psy-forum.co.uk/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=49 You have to sign up at psyforum but i think its totally worth it. I was once involved in a radio station and i got to interview richie hawtin (!) and to stand 2 meters from the desk watching him beatmix and i can only say it was incredible, that guy is sooooo fast and every transition he makes is perfect. Any of you know the F.U.S.E album.... one of my all time favourites (goes off to find old vinyl)

more title suggestions "Synced nations" "World unison" (or just "Unison") "Future freaks" And maybe there should be some sort of subtitle like: 'Unsigned artists trax part 1 ' ....or something else that could describe the contents in brief words and also become the subtitle for the (hopefully) next releases. what do you think ? -
i think you are confusing pathname and filename? The pathname is the path to the file like C:\programs\myfolder\samples\file.wav Maybe your path is very long? Try putting your samples in a folder closer to the root of the drive (example: D:\samples\file.wav) and see if this solves the problem. btw. never had this problem myself, im on pc with logic 5.5.1

I have a virus C and if i put it in multimode i have 16 parts with individual midi channels from 1-16. So if i want to play part number 2 i create a midi track in my sequencer and set it to the midi port which the virusc is connected and choose midi channel 2. Im also sure this is written in the manual which i advice you to read carefully as it really helps in understanding the virus architecture.

What do you use to make your tracks?
nomis replied to r8dnt1's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
hiya Hard or soft... doesnt really matter in the end as long as it sounds good but here goes anyway Hardware: Virus C Waldorf micro Q MOOG Rogue Yamaha TX81Z Korg EX-800 Novation Drumstation TR-707 Roland W-30 12bit sampler (hardly ever use it anymore) M-Audio Axiom 25 Genelec 8040a Software: FM7 Sytrus Albino Minimonsta Discovery DX-10 and lots more.... I see more and more people mentioning sytrus for leads but try it for bass, it has super saw basses that is very psy friendly Anyway over the years i found that its really not up to the instrument you are playing but more the way you play it. Same thing applies to mixing/production, though i must admit that a pair of precise monitors helps a lot. I'ts all techniques not hard/software so my most valuable tools, besides my ears, are all the tips and methods i picked up over the years... -
Try installing asio4all or if you are using a creative soundcard (sb, audigy etc.) then the kx project drivers offers much flexibility and asio as well. Remember to choose the asio driver in FL after install. the musicxp site has all the info needed for optimizing xp Dont know if it helps but asio4all did the trick for me with a slow labtop once and i am using the kx drivers on my secondary machine which has sb audigy, a athlon xp 1800+ processor and 768mb ram.

nomis replied to Wave-particle's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Neither did i, i thought he was your personal friend? weird anyway... Regarding your problem. I have never had such a problem and it is very strange??? My best advice is try installing the latest driver updates from m-audio and if that doesnt work then try removing fl studio with add/remove programs in control panel and reinstall it. If you solve the problem please let us know how you did it. Bom Nomis -

Just recieved this from gaffel, im posting it here so others can benefit from a possible solution. Please reply here instead of pm. Answer by me: ok but i still need theese questions answered yes or no. Is it just one key on the keyboard working or can you only play one note a time? Did you enable the midi input in options->midi settings? Did you enable midi remote control by ticking enable midi remote control in options? And further were did he monitor this problem? Try opening the piano roll on a sampler channel (alt+p) and poking a few keys... can you see them playing? -

Jep it's a pair of genelec 8040A... And trust me you wont regret buying a pair of genelecs Now im saving up for a sub to match them which is just as expensive as the monitors themselves
