I see the sentiment & of course understand how much someone must love an album to give 11/10 but what happens if next month you hear an album that's even better? Give it 12/10? This I think is the synopsis of Jon's post you need to leave space for albums that come later that might be even better.

Any updates? My favourites this year so far have been Oxycanta - Beautiful soft dreamy ambient Downbeat Liquid vol 1 - Some of the best downbeat tracks I've heard in ages Slackbaba - ...and the beat goes om - Excellent dubby beat & trippy atmospheres Androcell - Efflorescence - Have just kept playing this one all year Ka-Sol - Fairytail - Dark & fast, I didn't like it at first but it really grew on me Jikkenteki - The Long Walk Home - Both CDs are pure brilliance, one of my favourite albums ever Fuzzion - Black Magic - Sounds like psy mixed with dark 80's punk. I like something that's a little different

He may have made it complicated but I think what he said was quite valid! 10/10 or 100% is the best you can possibly get so if you give anything a perfect score you aren't leaving any room for whatever you'll hear later which might be better. Well some people start giving 11/10 & higher but for me a score like that is invalid. 10/10 should be a perfect album where every track is a masterpiece, stands out & doesn't get any less amazing with time. No album for me can achieve this. Some come close but no album would I call 100% perfect!

Yes! I was trying to get a really close up (as sometimes they got within about 5 metres of us) but I wasn't that lucky.

I'm giving Entheogenic's Golden Cap another listen. It sounds okay but there just doesn't seem to be anything that stands out.

Flying Rhino were fucking Excellent. So many Great albums & comps loads of good ones & just a few average ones in my opinion! One of my favourite labels ever

U-Recken - Aquatic Serenade The best downbeat track I've heard in a while

If you only listen to the "masterpieces" of which there are of course very few then won't you get bored of them? Also you will lose out on a lot of great music as a lot of albums have great tracks + good tracks & might not be considered a masterpiece even if some of the tracks are. Savvy?

Just got an email from ultimae & they sent out my copy of fahrenheit project 6 yesterday. I'm really looking forward to this

I've listened to this 3 times now. The 1st 2 times I fell asleep & the 3rd time I really didn't hear anything that struck my interest at all. I don't think it sounds to much like their previous albums because those albums had really memorable tracks that hit me from the 1st listen. This seemed more like background music. I'll give it a few more tries but overall a big disappointment!
