  1. Zekazy's real name is Jari and he is based out of Sweden. Don't worry he has nothing to do with Skazi. Actually we'll be releasing his first album sometime around the end of this year or the beginning of next. Anyways, glad you found something enjoyable downloading our compilation
  2. A hair off topic but if anyone is interested in interviews with some Japanese artists, I can probably get a hold of a number of them and do the translating from Japanese into English as well. As for who to interview, while I think interviews with the bug names can be cool, don't forget the new, up and coming guys. Interviews always seem to help me remember newer artists that I would otherwise probably just forget. Oh that note, some one like Mubali or some other artists from areas with smaller psy-scenes might be cool.
  3. What does the future have in store for Chi-A.D.? How did your pre-trance musical experiences affect Chi-A.D. and make it "different from the rest"? What are your five favorite non-musical ways to kill time on a rainy afternoon?
  4. I don't know what's going on with the site, but I got an email from them the day before yesterday concerning stocking PAR-2's next release in June so I doubt they suddenly just closed up shop. I know they have been busy with end of the year business type stuff right so that, coupled with the site suddenly going down, might explain the delays in replying.
  5. Do a search on Ebay for autographs and you will see an endless stream of pages of autographs for sale. Some fans simply like them and others are willing to pay money for them. I think from a general uneducated fan's (and that is most people, despite what many may think not all, or even many, psy-fans spend their time on internet forums like this) point of view, what Simon was doing is pretty cool. Most fans simply don't realize how terribly small the psy-scene really is and that you "could" probably send a letter asking for something to be signed. The average fan considers even smaller scale artists and djs often only slightly less uncontactable than rock stars, not to mention that its not like our psy-artists are travelling to every corner of the globe so all a fan has to do is wait around for the tour to swing through their neighborhood. The chance for a fan to buy something personalized and directly from the artist I can very easily see being seen as a blessing to many fans who will never get a chance to get in "personal contact" with artists. Personally I think the fuss here is just plain blown out of proportion and, in my opinion, somewhat further biased by the fact that recently its been the "in thing" to bash Simon Posford here. If he suddenly came out and made a statement saying "I'll sign anyone's cd jacket for free if you mail it to me" just as many people would get upset and claim he was being a egotistical moron for thinking he is so good that people want his autograph. He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. Get over it, he's just a guy supplying some people with something they obviously want. Yeah higher ideals and all might argue that it would be much cooler if he only did such things for free or what not, but get over it. This is the real world and the psy-industry in general is losing money hand over fist.
  6. I'm not. I'm bitter after that experience, plus it's just one of those discs I'd like to have an extra of "just in case"

  8. More likely than not it was the later. When I put my extra copy of I.F.O. up for sale several months a couple of people got in a bidding war for it and it sold for about $60 USD. However the winner didn't read the auction (I only accept payment via Paypal) and couldn't pay for the auction so we mutually cancelled the sale. Then I sent a second chance notice to the second place winner. They waited till after the offer expired and then sent some email basically accusing (in a round about way) me of trying of jacking the price up, but then turning around and saying that they still want the CD and would I accept a price significately less than then bid. Needless to say I took offense to this and never returned their email and my second copy sits happily on my CD shelf never to be put up for sale again. I mean really do some people think going "I didn't take your offer because I think you are trying to rip me off and are breaking E-bay rules by artificially raises prices, but if possible I'd still like to buy the CD for a lot less." is going to work?
  9. Yup that's him.
  10. I find it surprising that no-one seems to realize that a large percentage of the label owners are also in fact artists too. So I guess they are all stealing from themselves too.. damn label owners.....
  11. Yeah, but at first glance I still see Legolas there..
  12. I'm just curious how they got Orlando Bloom to pose for the cover art....
  13. True enough, but on the other hand how many of the artists on the scene really get that kind of chance as well?
  14. Jeeze, Mandalavandalz just released one last Sept. give him a chance to at least write a new one.
  15. I think a possibly more interesting poll might have been "How much do you think the average artist earns for one track?" That might surprise a lot of people. Ideally I think an artist should earn around $500 a track for a compilation, but considering how pretty much no one buys CDs any more, I can unfortunately understand why they don't. Of course things are case by case, but I am speaking "generally"
  16. - Although it is thought that Simon Posford often uses sample cds in his music, the truth is that Simon Posford actually created all the samples cds on the market today.
  17. Slum - Make Rainbow In Your Slum 2005 Elf Music ELFCD-010, Japan 1 - Future Is Ours (6:53) 2 - I Can Eat All Of Earth (6:25) 3 - Make Rainbow In Your Slum (9:09) 4 - Emog (6:04) 5 - Never Runaway Never (6:33) 6 - Why You Have My Beer? No Problem (6:56) 7 - Sneak, Beneath My Notice (7:00) 8 - Follow Me (7:05) 9 - Trust Youth Days (8:58) 10 - Over The Revolution (7:50) In 2004, a pair of Japanese psy-fanatics surprised many with their shockingly good debut album which seemed to come out of nowhere. Phi caught the attention of many with their own unique blend of modern full-on power coupled with a full assault of old school goa madness. What the album lacked in sonic clarity was more than made up for in pure energy, which they called “Nu Skool Hard Goa”. In 2005 the duo parted ways to work on their individual solo projects and Shuji, one half of Phi, has now resurfaced under the name Slum with his debut album titled (in his typical Engrish style) "Make Raibow In Your Slum", on Japan's Elf Music. Some artists, when branching out on their own, try to completely sever themselves from their previous work, so it will be interesting to see what happens here. With in 10 seconds of the start of Future Is Ours starts is clear that Slum seems to have fully embraced the sound he helped develop in Phi and is trying push it into new areas. Comparisions with Phi are simply unavoidable. The bass is back, the kick is back, the slightly shuffled hi-hats are back, the thick dirty synth leads are back and the general madness is back. That is not to say that Shuji is simply covering old ground though. The production is much clearer and there are a number of new elements introduced into what he now calls the "Hard Gore" sound (on a side note, this is simply a play on words as Goa and Gore are pronounced the same when rendered into Japanese pronunciation). The most obvious difference to my ears is in the "supporting" sounds. There are more "clean" sounds in the mix here, from pads, to squeeky mini leads. The sound isn't quite as layered and thick all the time and the flyby effects, pads and general weird noises are a lot more spaced out and clear, where as in Phi there was a general assault of thick, morphing and pitch shifting stuff going on most of the time. The breaks and builds are also generally a lot bigger and badder (in the good sense of bad), a classic point being the track Make Rainbow In Your Slum, which has a wonderful lead and a big break down that is sure to bring any dancefloor to full boil. I Can Eat All Of Earth and Emog gives us a mess of atonal noisy blasting leads while Never Runaway Never has more of Shuji's trademarked dirty guitar-ish styled synth tweakage. Why You Have My Beer? No Problem has some nice delay tweaking on a lead that is straight from the gosspel according to Phi. Sneak, Beneath My Notice goes hard and focuses on a wide range of cool, dark and evil fly by noises to keep things driving. Follow Me pulls out back out of the depths of hell sonically while keeping the same driving feeling going while Trust Youth Days is probably the thickest track sonically, with lots of layers and and ever changing array of leads, pads and effects to attract the ear. Over The Revolution brings things to a close as the only vaguely chill like track here. Rather than trying to be some sort of downtempo number though, this one works by being a deeper mid-tempo track that you could both chill to, or dance to depending on the situation. As I said before, comparisions with Phi are simply unavoidable, but luckily those comparisions are all good here. All and all Shuji has obviously taken the experience he gained performing live the last couple of years to create an album that will definately storm on the dancefloor, but at the same time still keeping the music well above being simply dancefloor filler. Fans of Phi will find plenty to love here, but this is an album I'd recommend to anywho who wants some good pounding music that doesn't sound the same as everything else out these days. Highly recommended.
  18. Got some fine rekkids from Aaron here. Very very fast and smooth. Good stuff
  19. Made yet another trade with DP. Fast, good communication, well packaged all the usual good stuff to say about him.
  20. I enjoyed this comp actually. Not the greatest thing ever by any means, but it somehow keeps finding its way into my CD player where others CDs don't, which is about the best judge of a release as I can think of. Oh, and by the way, this isn't TIP World either, its TIP New World.
  21. Actually this album has been available in stores anywhere in Japan since Dec 7th 2005.

    Nerve - Channel 59

I'd add that is one of my all time favorite ep's ever. I have the vinyl versions, but am hunting for the CD myself as well.
  23. Shit, I was wondering who the top artist was.. now I know. Thanks! By the way, where can I buy your albums NHJO HYENNRO?
  24. While I was waiting to post this info until after the funeral, word of mouth has spread and this has already hit Isratrance i figured it should be posted here as well. Last week Shinnosuke Masuo, formerly one half the Japanese group Phi and more recently working under the name Symphonics, passed away in Goa. He was there on an extended vacation and was killed in a scooter accident. Rest In Peace my friend.
  25. My comment is that these are posted in the wrong section.
