  1. Nimon-Drowing In Good Intentions and Mark Harris-In The Forests_ The Animals Are Moving are perfect cures for insomnia.
  2. Apparently there was a similar thread 10 years ago and the California Sunshine track is a tribute to Indoor-Sweet Coming Home which is apparently based on Midian. Although I hear some similarities (the main melody of Midian somehow appears in it) I would never guess the Indoor track is based on Midian, while Coming Home is almost an exact copy.
  3. This is one of my favourite California Sunshine tracks and obviously a cover of Blue Planet Corporation-Midian. What I don't get is why it's not BPC-Midian (California Sunshine remix), instead it has a new name. Besides that nowhere in the album it's mentioned of Midian or given any credits to BPC. It's really weird.
  4. Let's post some old school Goa that is legitimately crazy. First a fucking insane track. Next this fucked up monster And of course the craziest of all
  5. I have yet to buy the album, but that doesn't apply to Cathexis. It's considered a legendary track and IMO it deserves it.
  6. I hate hip hop, but this is amazing.
  7. I revisited it yesterday and my opinion hasn't changed. Definitely one of the best darkpsy albums out there. Multilayered and totally psychedelic with some delicious synths. The first 4 tracks are mental!
  8. I only care about track selection. I don't care about flow, transitions, live mix etc. Does the set feauture tracks that I like? Then I will be pleased.
  9. This is a good album, but I think CS is starting to repeat himself. His synthlines are always amazing and there are so many layers going on that I absolutely love, but I feel most tracks sound way to similar. I really miss the surprise track(s), the one which will try something different. Unfortunately I didn't find any here. Still a cool album though especially tracks 4 and 8.
  10. Oh yes! I loooove they synthline at 03:20.
  11. That Droidsect track was always a favourite of mine. Simply great.
  12. Another synth I absolutely love. The final synthline starts at 04:25. They could write random melodies and I would still love it. And of course literally every synth from MFG-Project Genesis album.
  13. So instead of best melodies let's talk about best synths. IMO Etnica have the best synthlines of all time. They are so alien and liquid at the same time. They always create a cold, dark green colour in my mind. Vimana in particular. However I have to propose this track as the best synth of all time. Not the whole track, but the moment from 04:19 to 04:46. You can hear it again at 05:47. I don't think I've ever listened to more a psychedelic sound before. Literally a synth straight from a space rift.
  14. I have my collection arranged by artist (aphabetically) and then compilations (alphabetically by title). I want all albums by the same artist to be next to each other on the shelf. However when it comes to relistening I chose to go with alphabetically by title in general, otherwise my first compilation would be in 2 years. As for the evolution of sound it's an interesting idea, but I want to mix all styles instead of listening to Goa exclusively for 1 whole year.
  15. There used to be a sport show in a small TV channel that played some goa (Transwave-Land Of Freedom remix, Enlightened Evoltuion etc.) during the goals of the week. Also MAD channel (think the Greek MTV) sometimes played the video of Psychonauts-Shadows Of The Moon. The craziest thing (something I think I wrote again) was during a Japanese movie where two characters are in Tokyo (I think) and while walking outside of a vinyl shop you can slightly hear Pleiadians-Alcyone. Is barely audible, but it's definitely that one. No idea what was the movie though. I remember watching it almost 15 years ago among other obscurities.
  16. Forestdelic is a good label, but their sound is closer to UK psytrance than Forest IMO. Some fantastic pure Forest labels: Stoneage: Defunct, but one of the best early forest labels Treetrolla: For the authentic scandinavian forest sound Sanaton: One of the best forest labels Parvati: They started as darkpsy, but now they are almost exclusively forest Schlabbaduerst: For the classic melodic forest style Chronicle Of Mystery: Similar style to Schlabbaduerst
  17. The idea is that one day I will be carefree to sit down and listen to all those cds. The truth is I will probably die without giving enough attention to half of my collection.
  18. So I have ended up in a point that I have so many releases I've only listened to them once. Heck I have some I haven't listened to them at all! Too much work, too much stress, too much of everything. So 2 months ago I said fuck it, let's do it! I will relisten my entire collection one cd at a time. The only ones I will skip are the ones I've listened to a billion times before. So I only have approximately 1200 cds to go! I'll try to listen to at least one per day (I failed so far). That's about 3-4 years. Cool... I'm going with alphabetical order and I just started B... Oh boy. So have anyone else tried it before? Did you manage to listen to everything?
  19. I have to say this again, but Necessary Evil is one of the best tracks ever made. No exaggeration.
  20. I've only listened to it once, but I think it's pretty forgettable. I miss his old powerful style with superb melodies and aggressiveness.
  21. Although he's most famous for his cheesy trance he used to write some super melodic clubby goa. I mean they were still kinda cheesy, but it was damn good. even Avalanche although more clubby and cheesy has this sweet Muses Rapt melancholy
