  1. We are acting all insane in here. One more prohibition is certailny not going to solve the problem What we discuss here i guess, ( because this topic was based on the VOC thread) if it is ok about give an feedback about someone else reviews. Well... for me its perfectly ok to give reviewrs feedback. If we comment if we like or not the review of someone else, in some contributes for the topic and even the reviews section. It will made then improve or at least be aware on how his reviews are taken by the others. A review is a source for information, and therefore i think its perfectily normal you to give a feedback for those who provide it you this information I can see how those comments can be seen for some ppl of valid use just for the reviwer, especially if they are good feedbacks like "great review" or "good job", but being a critic’s or not, it does help for the development of the reviwer And thats a big part of the reviews section All of that IMO off course My two cents
  2. They could means pretty much the same, but not in my topic What i mean is: Perception- Something like an ability to captures sounds. For ex, the perception of sounds in dogs are much more accured that in humans Interpretation- Pretty much how the sounds... well, sounds for you. The way you "read" it. Ex- an dog has a more accurate perception of sounds, but cannot interpreted it as music or a melodie. the dog can perceive with much more clarity a sound of a wind then me, but could not interpreteted as a melody
  3. Hey thanks for the reply Yes, I mean like an static volume. Or something like a static form of a wave If every person has a diferent sound perception. then those known rules of pleasant ammount of frequencies for the human ear are incorrect? I dont think that the perception varies much from person to person... i think what varies is the Interpretation of the sounds that goes diferent for each person... Or maybe i am wrong
  4. Ok again I am a little bit stoned and its late night here in Brazil So i might had said some gibberish, but i would like to hear a few words about the subject...
  5. Ok So i was listening to some track from NASA, and i got the feeling that after its middle break, the music somehow gets "fatter". Even thou there was no changing of notes, there was just some percussion layers added. Now, based on that, i wanna ask a few things 1- Does the low/high frequencies, produced by the whole song. Is it manipulatted by the producer so it can fill the human ear perception perfectilly? Does the low frequencies has to be stabilish like a box that had to be completed filled so it could be "pleasant"? Ok, now you might think that this is a producer thread... but i am just asking as a listener perspective( obvioulsy, professional comments are welcome), how the song feels to you as a whole. I myself for example has a very sensible ears for high frequencies and i tend to dislike then. If the song reachs an excessive high tone, i probably will dislike 2- Does a sound, and i mean any sound in its original form contains a static ammount of frequencies? Or it could be changed if this sound is added to another one? Again, as a listener position, i sometimes feel that the adding of percussion elements ( like bongo and Toms) changes the frequencie of the song, as i mean changes its vibration, or its just "add" its frequencie above the whole song, with out actually changing it? If so does that means that the song frequencies could be mathematic arranged and the creator has total control on what he wants? Note that adding is not equal change here, what i wanna mean is transforming... 3- How far can the human ear perception goes for low/high frequencies? Does someones taste could be formed by a sub-counscious familiarity of the ammounts of frequencie in a song? This goes by prefering for example, a fat clean sounds besides rispy distorted one...Like me for example Ok people Now lets discuss about sound perception obs: please tekk, dont move to the music making section
  6. See? You did it again! You saw my post and dint respond to it You win this time jonhy, but one day you... err.... i mean..me, no, no,. I, I will win
  7. I KNEW IT! You are an Ace of Base fan. Appart from that.... oh yeah! the topic! yes, i agree you top all the others acts and especially that metallica so called master of puppets But why WIN? Do you mean IN? Please aswer to this question jonhy.. you never ever was saw responding to someone else question... thats rude You just say randon opinions, and dont discuss about it why?
  8. NASA- Sloopy Noodles Great track
  9. The Studio Section of this site made me sad
  10. Great stuff indeed Dindt knew about the site. Looks great
  11. As he is asking for all mights hypnotic tracks and not just only good prog. Well said that i cant belieave no one mentioned Nerve- Channel 59, in fact the whole album is very hypnotic. Althou is more on the minimal side, dont know if that what you are looking for, but this track stands besides Atmos and Cosma easily imo btw, if Cosma- Sleep of peace isnt progressive, then we might as well call Derango nizhonot with some electro influences
  12. Great set list! I am listening to it right now... i will give a feedback later althou i already can see where this is going
  13. Hey Synogen this music is great, and the quality is awsome too. A really really good job on Fruity Now tell me Did you use one of the Fruity generators to creat this track (Like TS404 and 3x osc for ex) or did you made it on hardwares or VST and used Fruity just for sequencing and EQ, mixing etc? I ask this because i could never get any real quality sounds from the fruity generators, no matter how hard i tryed, well except from Sytrus maybe
  14. Well I personaly dont like Audiorealism. I used for a long time when i was using a low quality sequencer and it was the best bass i could get out of it Nowadays i am using Logic, and i found that the Logic bass( ES M) is quite good. Althou its take sometime to lear how to get something out of it, the quality is great. Soooo, may i ask you what kind of program are you using?
  15. Nice What a cute kid you got there devious! btw Show him some Blue Room vinyls , maybe he will love to spin those ones
  16. Yes there are many prog acts from Israel. In my taste they mostly sound like clubby morning prog, wich is not exctaly my cup of tea. Some examples is the Yotopia album and Etic both albums. In terms of the best prog that is out of israel i say its B.L.T material, all of his albums And our friend also poster of this forum Mr. Prosect himself. He released an really awsome tune with some great melodies called Sonified in V.A Inner Circle... you really should check it out Tas buuuut.... imo we should rely in our prog material from those who come from Scandinavia and Germany....
  17. LOL I was about to say that!
  18. Well i agree that the mainstreamn pshychedelic music had changed for the worst. What i am saying is that this change proportionate some incredible music in out boders from the big labels and commercial artists
  19. I say NEVER listen to any 1200 mics album. Off course you will think psytrance is boring if you only want that old-ultra melodic-mystica-Indian-shiva-ganesh- feel of the old school music It will be always the same old whining about how the oldscholl feeling is gone and that today music is boring Well.... i am HAPPY that it changed. Image it if there was the same thing over those last 12 years?! It would be hell i tell ya Anyway, i agree that most of today releases are boring. Althou there is so much releases that is also many impressive stuff coming out by the other side too Its all about a question of perception and expectations obs: Research the expression "Tribal Visions" Ale. Maybe is not what you are looking, but you cant say there isnt quality and exciment
  20. yeah yeah I am talking about this meaning of production.... a good sense of musical direction, talent for sound manipulating and composition another example its Penta both albums
  21. Yes... thats the one Great artist Reger... you should check his music
  22. I always said it and always will Cosma is DA men when it comes to good full-on, even thow i like his minimal side even more. Nonstop is a classic emotional album, full-onlish speaking. so My pick for now goes for Freedom. As for new emotinal full on out there. I must say that i didnt catch anything, besides Menog- Emotions. Its really a great album. Best new full on that is out there for sure
  23. I second that It think i have one or two tracks from Sensient i dislike... he always has some meaning in his music and its a true artist indeed
  24. hmm nice list! btw Sensient- Triptium has da production! In fact his work is impressive especially his firts album. A studio geek for sure
  25. Last weekend i was at a mainly progressive party wich had some impressive music played there Between all those great acts, there was a dj who played electro/ electro house with some psy influences. I myself didnt like it, i find and always found the atmosphere too much clubby/sexual and even silly sometimes with all those vocals. Althou there were some songs with interesting parts and impressive construction... there was even some kind of minimal electro that had incredible build ups, percussion and some "serious" melodies.. really stand ups above the others, i was impressed by that track. Overall the set was horrible. Apart from that track and one or another, nothing more cached my attention Sooo the point of this topic its to talk about those tracks/albums that you think that has incredible inteligent production that really stands up above the rest... just like that track did for me with the others I am talking about gems here people! Puting in a psychedelic perspective.... I will put the Germans lords appart from now ( you know who they are!) and my comment for inteligent production goes for NASA- Sloopy Noodles That guys has the skills, his music has feeling and the construction of it is so amazing that deserves my nomination What about you? who are the studio Gods?
