As a Brazilian, i gotta say that i would hate those sambas influences that you are talking about Anoebis. Samba is something that i just cant stand and you will have to make a briliant work to macth those rythms on the psychedelic sound and yeah, it is butt shaking, and is one of the causes i hate it but all of that imo off course

great topic seraph i would make deep-minimal- highly melancholic -gothic- psytrance with concepts albums no ethnic influences, some metalic and spacey atmospheres and not by a chance some predictable highlights

Welcome soundofliberation Excelent introduction! And you are irish too. how cool is that? Aswering the question about palying the obvious or the innovative, i would go for the innovative. The obvious like you said it, hallucinogen, is a classic, and therefore is good to play, but even being obvious as you said its still innovative music thats for sure. What i am trying to say, is that by the "obvious" you can go much worse then that, the very much mainstreen style the pop kind of psytrance. They are out there alive and kicking unfortunaly In some sense i think that you already know what i am saying, and i am really most amazed to hear a little about the irish psytrance scene that it seens to me as small, a little bit more passionate maybe? that usally happens, cause if you are spinnig hallucinogen and it is obvious, it seens to me that maybe dont try to get the innovative, keep just on track on what is obviously good to you

welcome sean i dont think that eskimo and astrix are hard music, its actually just simple full on astrix first album was ok, but eskimo and black and white is mediocre music imho i could give you some projects that i think you may like it: Scorb- has a great debult album called.... well, Scorb Human Blue- Get all of his albums Prometheus- get the Robot o chan album, its great intelligent music and you if you want plain full on in your face kind of stuff, but that yet has much better quality and creative then the typical israeli, you should get the artists from South Afrika like Rinkandik, Shane Gobi and many realeases and compilations by Timecode and Alchemy recs those artists i said is just relative new stuff there is many classical music there to find in all genres

looks like i got it all wrong oh well anyway, you should get the Prometheus album another try, i myself didnt like it at the first time either, and now i praise to it especially the track Number Cruncher and if you see him live you will dance like a mad man, i am still very sorry for not knowing his music better when i saw it it has to get you open your mind for it and embrace
