The subject says it all. Often, artists' best songs are released only on EP's or on EP's and CD compilations (with a bunch of other stuff you don't want, Jaia comes to mind!!). I don't have vinyl so I don't buy it, which means I miss out on some wicked stuff. Bummer. Just got a copy of the Spectral: Celtic Alchemy EP on CD and I'm fu-ckin happy about it!

Glad if I helped, but to clarify: the album name is Plexus; the artists' names are Luminus vs. Perplex. There is no illumination in there to my knowledge.

Moderators...or censors?? I understand what you guys want to do and I think it's a good idea, but please make sure you don't start deleting any and all negative comments in the review section. Sometimes, I base my decisions on them, or on the balance between negative and positive reviews, or on who was negative or positive. I think people should be allowed to say anything they want, unless they are a complete idiot about it. Also, the length of a review doesn't have to be really long to be good. Frankly, I prefer the short and concise reviews. I really can't be bothered to read 5000 words on one album. I just want to know the general theme of an album, some standout tracks on it, some stinkers, and whether they liked it or not. So I hope you won't be removing all the shorter but still very useful reviews and only leaving the mamoth track by track, minute by minute, album break downs.

MFG returns in full force! Oh, am I ever glad. Project Genesis was hit and miss for me and I was thinking we had lost a great act, but no! The Message seems to me like a blend of their early style + the newer muddier darker sound they introduced with Project Genesis. I love it. It's some beautiful goa music for sure, with a touch of sadness (like one person said above). Listen to it a few times people, give it a chance. I've been listening to it for a while and last night it really hit me. Start to finish it's excellent. Favorite tracks: 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, but I can listen to them all.

Yeah, they are sooo expensive. There is a place where I live that sells them for $1800 Canadian Dollars each! (about a buck fifty American) As far as I know, it's the only shop in town that sells them. Nonetheless, if I had the money, that's what I would buy, two of those cdj 1000's.

HMV in Canada acutally lets you returned opened Cd's for any reason, including "I didn't like them." Go figure, eh?

I just ordered my 3rd copy of AP's Trust in Trance. My first got lost, my second got scratched, and my third...

I've heard that before but it's not available at any of the online stores I use?? Which version of bol.com carries it? Not the U.K. one I think.

Doh! Alien Protein (is what I meant)

This is MWNN. I've always been a fan of his earlier work. This album is no exception. Some tracks border on a club trance sound that will not appeal to some. For me, this album will always be special as it was one of the first few goa Cd's I bought. As far as I know, most tracks are only available on this album, which is unfortunately hard (impossible?) to get now. Definitely, worth it if you can find it somewhere.

Had this for a while. I got it at the same time I got Ticon - Rewind (also good). At first, it did seem rather flat to me. Compact, linear, but it was obvious that a groove existed below the surface. Encouraged by the rave reviews, I kept listening periodically. One day, while doing some home work, I threw it on. Somewhere in there, I stopped working and realized I hadn't been working for a while, totally wrapped up in it. That was my breakthrough moment for this CD. Now, I would say I like it slightly better than Ticon. Even the ashtray track has grown on me. It's one of my favorites on the album, but there's no bad tracks on here. Final verdict: I don't listen to it often, but when I do, I thoroughly enjoy it. Very energetic, bouncy, and hypnotic.

my copy is in the mail

I heard they will rerelease D5: Transdimensional.

Perplex's first solo album has a couple of wicked tracks on it, but some not so good. However, I really enjoy the Luminus vs. Perplex album. I hope those two make another album some time (together).

I'll see if I can...next time I order stuff.

Doh! I only buy CD's.

Anyone else heard this? What an awesome track! I did a search for it on this website and it only shows up on Planet Goa 2. What a shame. I don't want to buy a whole 2 CD comp just for one song.

The Flame of Eternal Life, ohhh soooo dreamy smooth sexy...excellent! Why isn't creeping gravity on this album?? Dam, when Chi-ad is good, it's great!

Okay, I must revise my review above as I now own a copy of this. Track 1 (shape the future) is not the same version found on their album The Prophecy. Instead, it's a remix with some annoying chirps and screachy sounds added overtop. You can hear the heart of the song underneath but the added sounds really ruin it for me. Track 2, the MWNN remix, is an excellent early MWNN style song with a heavy solid beat and some nice swirly sounds. Track 3 and 4 are...listenable, but not great. Track 5 (xoco) is very NICE! Sounds oldschool, with some nice drifting uplifting melodies, and a fairly melow pace to it. Track 6 is X-Dream! Need I say more. A classic track from their We Created Our Own Happiness album. Track 7 is a remix of Transwave's excellent Rezwalker. It's very similar to the original, just with a boomy echo background atmosphere added in. Track 8 is, for me, the standout track on this album. I used to have it mixed, and am so glad to finally have it unmixed here. See Magic Plant's review of this one above. And finally track 9. This not the version on Astral's masterpiece album Trust in Trance. It's a slow remix of it. If you like that sort of thing, then okay. For me, the power is gone. So, overall, a decent album. Worth your money if you don't already have tracks: 2, 5, 6, 7, & 8.
