  1. That would be a tragedy if they just threw away hundreds or thousands of perfectly good psy CD's.
  2. You want to hear bad bad terrible cheesy samples just take a listen to the album Ra: to Sirus. Yuck. As for the Cosmosis samples, I must say I quite liked the all the samples on Synergy. To each their own I guess.

    Cosmosis

Is it like Intergalactic... or... ? What kind of sounds and style?

    Cosmosis

I was just going to post the same question, but you beat me to it. So how is it??
  5. Yes I will buy a copy as soon as possible to support this most exellent endeavor. It will have to wait a while though, as I am a bit short of money right now.
  6. My 2 cents... Ambient tends towards soundscapes and long long sweeping sounds and can have no or almost no beats at all. It's aural wallpaper. Chill-out has beats and you can dance to it, and is basically slower music. It can be a fine line though.

try asking this question in the general forum and you will likely get lots of answers
  9. I can't choose just one.
  10. The following page has links to lots of places for free downloads. Most of them are on mp3.com and many of them well known trance artists. Check it out. http://thanners.digitalrice.com/ or another address for the same page http://psyjingles.cjb.net/
  11. I have a suggestion. This topic will eventually dissappear. You should post these rules somewhere where they will stay around and be obvious. That way nobody will be able to say they didn't know and new people will know too.

    quick survey

Wouldn't this idea be easier based on a subscription fee per month?
  13. Astral: Yes! MFG: I don't know, but I hope so.

Yes, I'm from Vancouver. I've been to Winnipeg once, during the summer (it was a nice place). Anyhow, only the A&B downtown has anything. There are a bunch of them (A&B's) in town, but only that one ever has anything. I picked up a copy of Asura: Code Eternity there a while ago. Bassix will have some stuff on vinyl and few (10-20) newer releases on CD. You'll probably get better prices and selection online.

Your best bet would be "Bassix" in downtown Vancouver. I don't think they have a website. The address is 217 West Hastings Street. Phone number: (604) 689-7734. There are other places that will have the odd thing, but that's the best place I know off. Come to think of it, you may also want to check out "A & B sound" on Seymour street in downtown Vancouver (not far from Bassix). They always have a few things like: Hallucinogen, AP, Cosmosis, and assorted compliations. You have to be prepared to search though the entire electronic section to find them though. One last thing. If you going to here on Friday, check out "Club 23" on West Cordova (also downtown). Every Friday, they play only psytrance all night there. Cheers. P.S. Where are you visiting from?
  16. You can buy "Earth Moving Sun" here: http://www.absound.ca/ You can buy "Moment of Truth" here: http://cdconnection.com/bin/nph-main/0s1Y6NjMA4pk.b I have ordered from both places before and they are legit.
  17. P.S. the more "live" the better I would think, as long as it's done well, but is it really needed? Are you there to hear the sounds, or to critique how they make them? Personally, I go to an event to hear to sounds. If the sounds are good (according to my own subjective standards), then I'm happy. End of story.
  18. I've said it before, but... I've never seen any of the artists reviewed on this site "live." For those of you that have that sort of off opportunity, count yourself as lucky. That's all I've got to say. No disrespect intended. Even if the person/people behind a group just played their own music off CD's or DAT's, that would be cool. I would like to see that, if I liked their style.
  19. Yeah, I have it on "Distance to Goa 5." It's a wicked song and a wicked compilation that's relatively easy to get still. Get it!
  20. TWSCD17 is indeed "Digital Mystery Tour" I have copy of it. It's a more of a downtempo/chillout album although not very shpongle like. A review of it is on the website in the chill out section.
  21. This was one of my first few goa compilations. I no longer have it, but would love to get a copy of it again. My favorite was the second CD. It has the better songs (although the first CD has some good ones too), and I always wished it wasn't mixed. This whole compilation is worth it for the Miranda, Kode IV, and Transwave songs alone. I want that Transwave song unmixed! It's right up there with MDMA as one of their best ever songs in my opinion. Anyway, nice double CD. Get it if you can for a classic goa experience that's not too heavy on the cheese either.
