    SARS on CDs?

Lol! I just ordered from Saiko, but I ordered via airmail... I should be safe. Phew! That was a close one...
  2. I must agree with PsyKick. Vibrashpere is NOT "very very heavy" nor is it particularly dark. Great album though.
  3. Actually this one is also sort of themed: http://goatrance.free.fr/reviews/chakrajo.htm
  4. There is that Return to the Source compliation called sacred sites: http://goatrance.free.fr/reviews/sacredsi.htm
  5. Yes I agree. There are no reviews. I don't know if the site is dying but sometimes it seems that way. They keep putting up all these albums and there is no or just one review for them. Other people will answer this thread and say "register and review and quit complaining and do something about it." That's partly true, but it's not just the registering, it's the whole attitude that was put forth during the change. Back when they implemented the whole password thing, there was this obvious move to restrict the reviews as well. They went through and cut out tons of reviews even if they weren't insulting and were just short reviews like: "this album is my favorite and it's awesome so get it now." There was this sort of push to force everyone to write these super long reviews (that I personally can't be bothered to sift through). At the very least, reviews had to be descriptive it an flowery adjective filled way. I personally usually can't think of more than few sentances to say about any one album. Sometimes I'll be descriptive of the sounds and so on, sometimes I'll just say if I like it or not. I had a bunch of reviews like that which were all edited out and I frankly can't be bothered to write anymore. My feeling is they don't want any reviews like that on the site. I found it very frustrating that only one opinion of what a review should look like dominated the whole debate and took over and ultimately chocked the whole review section. The results are obvious. They speak for themselves. Better to sift through some garbage to find the content than to have no garbage and no content. As for what reviews are now deemed to be acceptable, I always thought the short reviews were usefull too. An album that got a lot of reviews (no matter what type) was worth looking into. The ratio of positive to negative reviews was also useful. Finding one person who likes a bunch of what I like then they say they like something I haven't heard (even if the review is short) is, again, useful. But, the review mafia did not argree. Every review had to include some play by play description of the sound and tracks of the album and should preferably be long (this wasn't always explicity said, but it was implied and it was obvious by the way the old review sections were gutted). You can see the results. Now there are a few people reviewing with mostly long boring reviews and the reviews section is basically useless.
  6. Yes, the whole last Vibrasphere album! Basilisk, do you mean "Sunshrine"? Just love that track. Very much in this mellow but still psy category.
  7. Well, I don't know them all, but can recceomend the following as "good" - Orichalcum and the deviant album - VA: Eternal Trance (if you like Astral Projection) - VA: Psychedelic Vibes 4 NOT!!! - Eon Project: Brain Filter
  8. I also recommend Saikosounds.
  9. Yes. Most good artists have a trademark sound. I've never understood why people slag an artist for being recognizable. Hell, Simon, who many seem to worship around here, has a very distinctive sound. I don't think this by itself makes the music good or bad. But whatever... I don't care so much whether an artist has "a sound." All that matters to me is whether I like that sound I personally don't like the infected sound (although they have made a few tracks I just love). Llisten to what you like. That's my reccomendation
  10. My problem with infected mushroom has always been that their music is too full of raw blurps and farts mixed awkwardly with raging, screaching, over-the-top melodies that take to long to get to. Their music also tends to lack any groovy quality and is just too thin and acidic. This is of course for my tastes. God knows there are tons of infected fans out there, so they must be doing something right. I listened to the samples of this album and it sounds like more of the same so no thanks... As for the freestyle stuff, it sounds okay, but a bit too popy and not worth buying really. I'll pass.
  11. Bahmut under what name did you make trance? Could it be Matimo Pyramid perhaps?
  12. The only one that jumps out at me is the Digitalis. But nothing really essential in there in my opinion.
  13. Do a search on this website for tracks released by cosmosis. You will see it can be found on a few compilations but not on any of his full length albums. Psychedelic Visions 1 Pulse 3 Trancentral 6 - Psychedelic Moments
  14. I meant to say: "it's hard NOT to agree that..."
  15. "Im not talking about personal opinion" ... "for example, AP's newest album is boring and too comercial for my taste" That is your personal opinion! (and has nothing to do with how well made it is) "it sounds like they werent inspired by the music but by money" What trashy thing to say. That they only did it for the money and don't care about the music. How would know? Of course you are entitiled to not like their music, but it is your opinion, and furthermore, taste aside, I think it's hard to argee that AP's music is very polished and well made, even if you think the style is too commerial/clubby.
  16. Yup. I got a couple of cd's from them once. There prices are a bit high, but they do seem to have a few things that are hard to find anywhere else. The shipping was pretty fast too.

You want a copy of Beat Bizzare - Lewd?
  19. The new vibrasphere is very nice. Less minimal more sunshine and real smooth. Great for home listening with another San Pedro esque chill out track in the middle. I liked the first album, but I think the second is much better. You can download one of the songs on the Digital Structures website I think.
  20. How about: Silicon Sound: Pure Analog Vibrasphere: Lime Structure
  21. Oh yeah, if you go for Dancing Galaxy, try to get the Israeli/Phonokol release and not the Transient release. The Phonokol release has much better more colourful cover art. The Transient release is a very drab burgandy colour without much else on it.
  22. Either Dancing Galaxy or Trust in Trance It's a tough call. I'd say Dancing Galaxy is just a hair better than Trust in Trance, but you can't go wrong with either, in my opinion.
  23. Oh. It's just that there is this rather obscure book I read once that was very strange and had creatures in it called things like bleeps. I was wondering if it was refereing to that.
  24. What does the "Flock of Bleeps" refer to???
  25. You are being very negative and unpleasent. "This is looking more and more like a Newby forum as time goes by." <--- that sounds terrible. Grow up.
